Chapter 231: The Future Female Boss
Chapter 231: The Future Female Boss
When saying goodbye to the strange pair of Benita and her servant, Sizar could not stand Huasheng’s puppy-like expectant eyes. He finally took off the leather slippers he wore and gave them to the long-drooling fat guy as a parting gift.
After sending off his second prison roommate, Sizar fell into anticipation again, fantasizing about his future job. Would he become a secret agent for the three major nations? Or would he register with The Association as a demon hunter? Or maybe he would do cleanup work for some big corporation?
In the boy’s various fantasies, time passed until the afternoon. The door to the South Third Zone opened once more.
This time, a triumphant “ojousama-style wild laughter” came from outside the door, followed by numerous yet orderly footsteps. Just from the sound, one could guess the other party had many people and came with imposing momentum.
Hearing the footsteps, Sizar pricked up his ears and turned his head to look down the corridor. Meanwhile, Em, who was leaning against the wall resting in his cell, pulled down his hat brim helplessly to cover his face. A trace of resignation even leaked from the corner of his lips.
“Major, where are you? I came to see you! Back then, what did you say? That you would personally catch me and throw me in here? And now? Not only did you fail to catch me, you ended up here first. Let’s not even mention that. I know you’re just on vacation, but why did you contact me? So high and mighty, why beg this villain?”
The voice arrived before the person. A black-stockinged ojousama in a gray business suit strode loudly into the South Third Zone. Her head was held high, and her voice was full of mockery. It seemed she bore some deep grudge against Em, and now, finally having her revenge, she felt incredibly pleased.
Upon hearing the ojousama’s voice, Em let out a long breath and then stuffed paper wads into his earholes, blocking out the external noise.
“Hmph…!” Entering the prison block, the ojousama also noticed the dejected, ashamed Em. She snorted triumphantly and then paid no more attention to the down-and-out Major.
“Miss Kane, you walked too fast.” The prison warden’s voice came from behind. Then, a young man with a heart-shaped slug on his shoulder hurried up with an ingratiating smile. Behind Archmonde followed a row of prison guards and a row of men in black suits and sunglasses.
Glancing at Em’s evasive demeanor and noting the warden’s helpless expression, Sizar judged that this well-dressed, golden-rimmed-glasses ojousama was definitely not ordinary. Not only was she accompanied by the warden, but she also brought a team of bodyguards straight into the Divine Prison, even openly mocking the pumpkin-headed Major. This lady wasn’t just beautiful with long legs; she also radiated an overbearing aura!
Thinking back to how Em had been hesitant and unwilling to speak directly a few days ago, Sizar was ninety percent sure this sister was here for him!
“I heard two elderly gentlemen live here? And there’s a great craftsman skilled in enhancing weapons? Before I left, Grandma specifically told me to visit them. Can you introduce me?” The ojousama turned her head, adjusted her glasses with her hand, and then spoke to Archmonde. Inadvertently, she severely disappointed Sizar. Did she completely forget about an insignificant creature named “Sizar”?
“No problem, leave it to me!” The warden nodded stiffly, his face full of reluctance yet also some apprehension. In short, he looked very bitter.
While the two were talking, they paid no attention to Sizar in his cell. The curious boy, however, kept secretly observing his future female boss. When Kane turned her head to look at the warden and straightened her glasses, Sizar was surprised to discover that this sister’s pupils were the same as his—pure silver!
Aside from the lizard-headed Ackerman from Black Molar, she was the second Silver Bloodline Sizar had encountered.
Just as Sizar noticed Kane, the ojousama also glanced at the boy inadvertently. Noticing those silver snake-like pupils, she raised her eyebrows in surprise. Then, following the warden’s guidance, she headed towards Old Man G’s room.
For the next hour, the ojousama first had a friendly chat with Old Man G. Her expression of surprise and delight suggested her family elders had some past connection with the old man. Next, the ojousama had a friendly exchange with the pretentious Anatomist. This old man wasn’t as easygoing as Old Man G; he had high standards, liked to put on airs, and even as a partner, Sizar often found himself embarrassed by this old fellow—not cute at all. In less than twenty minutes, a grim-faced Kane left the old man’s room and headed towards Belikov’s junk pile.
After the friendly exchanges in the South Third Zone concluded, Old Man G finally couldn’t hold back and spoke first: “Miss Kane, I hope you will take good care of Sizar. As for the plan you proposed, I will consider it.”
“Thank you, sir. As for Si… Sizar? I was already entrusted by someone, so of course I’ll take him with me.” As she said this, the ojousama glanced triumphantly at Em, but unfortunately, he had paper stuffed in his ears and was fast asleep.
The provocation failed, but Kane wasn’t disappointed. She walked up to Sizar’s cell and crooked her finger, signaling the boy to step forward.
“The Major already told you, right?” Kane said directly after Sizar opened the door.
“Uncle only told me someone would come… uh, for an interview.” Sizar opened his mouth, not knowing how to express it. This situation was completely different from what he had expected. He thought Em wanted to give him a surprise, but this surprise was a bit too big—it turned out to be his nemesis. If he followed this seemingly influential sister, would he get implicated by Pumpkin Uncle and face trouble?
Seeing the boy’s complex, conflicted expression, Kane sighed. “Let’s formally introduce ourselves. I am Kane Beiyoutaling V. Von, the only daughter of my family. Hmm, like you, a descendant of the Silver Bloodline.”
Hearing her introduction, Sizar’s mind raced. Did she come because of Em, or for another reason? Like that grandfather of his who was doing well in the secret assembly? Discovering she was of the Silver Bloodline made Sizar somewhat resistant.
“You… are a member of the Silver Secret Society? After I get out, will I also join the Silver Secret Society?” Seeing her expression, she didn’t seem to recognize him. Sizar didn’t rush to reveal his grandfather’s identity. He heard the assembly split recently—what if she was from a hostile faction? Wouldn’t that be walking to his death?
“Silver Secret Society? You think too much. I’m a suspect the Major wanted to arrest. How could I join such a big organization?” Kane laughed self-mockingly.
“???? (⊙o⊙) Oh?” Sizar put on a look of complete ignorance.
“You’re also of the Silver Bloodline, so you should know this modification school has a long history with many branches. My family broke away from the assembly long ago in ancient times and became independent. There are many similar branches or families, and also factions hostile to the assembly. I heard the assembly split recently, but that has nothing to do with me. Their base is in the Eastern Domain, my home is in the Central Territory. We stay out of each other’s way.” Kane replied.
“I see!” Sizar nodded understandingly and then asked, “Then what organization will I join?”
If she wasn’t his grandfather’s mortal enemy, then he was safe. Thinking again of the ojousama’s powerful presence, Sizar felt this sister must also have a strong force behind her. Now it depended on how thick her thighs were—were they worth clinging to?
“As for me, I am the leader of ‘Free Direction’ in the Central Territory. The organization I lead is one of the top ten strongest gangs in the Central Territory! It’s also the most dynamic one, most likely to challenge the ‘Webweaver’ and seize the top position! Following me has great prospects. That Major must think so too.” Saying this, the ojousama showed a charming smile.
At that moment, Sizar instantly understood why Em was unwilling to interact with her. One was a soldier, the other a criminal. The soldier was just a low-ranking one without background, but the criminal had a powerful background. Seeing the warden’s helpless expression said it all. And looking at Em’s evasive attitude, he probably had offended this sister before, and the result… went without saying. No wonder the ojousama looked so triumphantly vindicated earlier—having an old rival actively seek her out, how exhilarating was that?
Silver Bloodline, ancient family, rising gang leader—the family must have other businesses too. Was this sister also a secretly supported underground force representative for the Federation? What did Em actually mean? Did he want him to join the underworld? Or go undercover? Sister Chaya hoped he would turn over a new leaf! Others go from crime to prison, so why was he going from prison to crime? Would it kill them to give him a legitimate job?!
“Kid, I’ve introduced myself. How about you? Don’t be rude.”
“My name is Sizar, a Serpent Demon hybrid, a student of Black Molar…” Sizar replied tactfully.
“Enough, don’t talk about useless stuff. Gangs don’t care about education. Just tell me about your Silver Bloodline.” After sizing up Sizar, the ojousama, unaware of the boy’s background, assumed his strongest skill was his Silver Bloodline.
“Silver Bloodline? Uh… physical arts, snake-style Martial Techniques.” Recalling his Silver Bloodline, aside from transformation, there was the Silver Wheel. He used it occasionally, but besides enhancing coordination and improving dynamic vision, it didn’t seem very useful. Of course, that time Elsa appeared, the boy finally realized its potential, but he couldn’t achieve that level.
“Snake type?” Looking at Sizar’s silver snake-like pupils, Kane fell into recollection. “Silver Bloodline, snake type? I think I have some impression. Twenty years ago, the assembly had a Serpent Demon who fought with fists? Contemporaneous with ‘White Scale Sacred Sword’, but he disappeared years ago, no one knows if he’s alive or dead. You wouldn’t happen to be that Serpent Demon’s son, would you?”
“Adopted son.” Sizar smiled stiffly. He didn’t know much else, but that Serpent Demon who fought with fists must be Elsa! As for White Scale Sacred Sword, that was his father! He never knew these two were so famous in their youth? Even this foreign big sister had heard of them.
“Never mind. Silver Bloodlines relying on fists are all trash without any technical skill. I have no expectations for you anymore.” Kane sighed disappointedly and said listlessly, “Later, I’ll have my subordinate give you a contract. See if you’re satisfied. If there’s no problem, sign it and work for me for ten years, then you’ll be free. For Old Man G and The Anatomist’s sake, I won’t make things difficult for you, and I won’t assign you dangerous tasks. Of course, if you want to gain my trust or climb to a high position, you must put in the effort. Lastly, after you get out, don’t have any further involvement with the Major. Otherwise, I’ll send you back here again.”
After saying this, Kane snapped her fingers and then said to the warden, “Let’s go, head to other zones to inspect the goods. This time, I want four subordinates in total. Consider this little scrap a bonus for me. Any objections?”
“As you wish.” Archmonde made a “please” gesture. “My family’s old man told me to satisfy you as much as possible.”
“Haha, good. I’ll visit Uncle for the New Year.”
“Really? Then I won’t go back.” Archmonde said with a dispirited expression.
“You, leave a copy of the contract for that kid.” After speaking to a sunglasses-clad man, Kane turned to look at Sizar. “Sizar, right? Read the contract carefully. If you’re satisfied, sign it. I’ll come back to see you after I finish selecting my subordinates.”
