Chapter 509: So, Kasumigaoka Drank Too
Chapter 509: So, Kasumigaoka Drank Too
“Himekoji?”
Kasumigaoka didn’t expect to meet Himekoji in this Special Building.
Unlike the school building, the classrooms in the Special Building were mostly used as club meeting rooms and different science labs.
Kasumigaoka had just left the drama club.
She had helped the club members rewrite their script several times.
For the past few days, she hadn’t rested well.
She was often distracted when walking.
So, while turning a corner, she didn’t pay attention and bumped heavily into Himekoji.
The papers in her hand scattered on the floor right away.
Himekoji had almost the same thing happen to him.
Even though he held the carp soup carefully and it didn’t spill, the trash bin in his other hand fell to the floor.
A few bits of paper and fruit shells mixed in with the papers.
He wondered if he might have stained the papers.
Feeling awkward, Himekoji quickly squatted down to fix it.
He picked up the papers one by one and stacked them neatly.
He checked if any were missing or had dirty marks.
Seeing Himekoji squat in front of her, Kasumigaoka let out a “pfft” laugh.
Her eyes sparkled as she thought of something.
She suddenly reached out and playfully patted Himekoji’s head.
What a cheap move!
That head pat felt like an elder doting on a younger person.
It seemed like Kasumigaoka’s action made him feel much lower in status.
Himekoji looked up, his face a bit frustrated.
He squatted while she stood, so he had to look up at her.
But as he tilted his face halfway, he realized something was off.
A delicate, smooth face came into view instead of the skirt and legs.
Kasumigaoka had squatted down too at some point.
Their noses almost touched, and her breath smelled sweet.
Kasumigaoka Utaha bent her legs, rested her chin on her hands, and smiled as she watched Himekoji.
Her eyes twinkled like they were speaking.
They were so close!
Himekoji’s face suddenly felt hot.
He thought this head-turning move made him seem like a shameless creep who forced his face to hers to do bad things.
It was so sudden and shocked Himekoji.
He stopped his neck from turning any higher by force.
If he hadn’t, there might have been an accident—if he moved even a bit, he might have kissed her!
Himekoji swallowed nervously.
His face froze right in front of Kasumigaoka, very near to hers.
His mind raced about what to do next.
Would he say something and then back away?
Before he could think of anything, a “whoosh” sound came.
The girl in front suddenly puckered her lips and blew a breath at him.
It brushed his face, tickled his nose, and made his heart flutter.
Himekoji’s legs went weak and he lost his balance.
He fell backward onto his bottom, gasping sharply and gritting his teeth.
Then he heard laughing—Kasumigaoka covered her mouth.
Her face showed a little satisfied look of having teased him well.
It was naughty but charming in a unique way.
Himekoji admitted defeat and got up while rubbing his bottom.
Seeing her laugh so happily, he couldn’t help but grin along.
“Senpai, did I hurt you when I bumped you?”
He said this as he handed back the sorted papers he’d cleaned up to her.
“What about you? Did I hurt you?”
Kasumigaoka joked playfully and glanced at Himekoji’s bottom.
“It hurts.”
Himekoji whined quickly.
“My bottom feels like it cracked in half!”
“So serious?”
Kasumigaoka Utaha pretended to be surprised, covering her mouth lightly.
“Quick, take off your pants so I can check. I’ll help you find a fix.”
“Huh?”
Himekoji had only said it casually, and now he was stuck for words.
Kasumigaoka acted all serious and walked behind Himekoji.
She rubbed her chin while her eyes slid back and forth across his bottom.
Even though they were separated by pants and underwear, Himekoji felt her gaze was too penetrating.
He might as well have been naked; it was super embarrassing.
“Take off your pants. I’ll see if I can glue your bottom back together.”
Words only an Evil God-sama would say!
Himekoji felt annoyed.
He thought, “You think you can just sew it up? Everyone’s bottom is in two halves already! Gluing it would be worse!”
But he had said his bottom “cracked in half,” so he knew he couldn’t win.
No—he remembered it’s rude for a guy to argue with a girl—and changed the topic.
“Sen…”
But before he could finish, she cut in first:
“By the way, where were you two days ago? Not home all weekend?”
Two days ago?
He had gone to Rikka’s hometown, been with Lady of the Wicked Lord’s Eye, and even taken wedding photos.
Things were complicated, so Himekoji paused before speaking.
“Well, um…”
Seeing Himekoji hesitate, Kasumigaoka didn’t push.
She paused for a moment before saying softly:
“I looked for you. I also called you.”
She didn’t say how many times or how many calls.
“Hm?”
Himekoji blinked, surprised.
Kasumigaoka called him? Why didn’t he know anything about it?
He wanted to check his missed calls in his call history.
But when he reached for his phone, he remembered it had no signal at Rikka’s hometown over the weekend.
Why did Kasumigaoka look for him?
Anyway, he could ask now.
“Senpai, you looked for me? Why?”
When Himekoji asked, Kasumigaoka just shook her head.
Himekoji watched her closely and saw her expression seemed strange.
“What exactly happened?”
He felt concerned and asked again.
“Nothing much, just a little worried.”
“Worried about what?”
“Worried about you.”
“Huh?”
Himekoji felt Kasumigaoka wasn’t telling the truth; her eyes seemed to avoid his.
Something wasn’t right. It didn’t feel like her usual Evil God-sama self at all.
Himekoji didn’t say more and quietly watched her face, showing a bit of doubt.
A flash of panic crossed Kasumigaoka’s eyes, but then she controlled her feelings quickly.
She curved her brows and mouth into a sweet smile:
“I told you I was worried. Why look like you don’t believe me?”
“Really?”
“Sure, of course. What, you won’t let me worry?”
“Oh, not like that.”
Himekoji actually liked being cared about and didn’t fear it anymore.
“Oh, so you’re letting me ‘worry’ then.”
“Huh?”
Hold on!
Himekoji thought he caught another meaning in her words.
It might be his imagination, but the “worry” seemed like it had two meanings.
He stared harder at her face.
Where was that odd feeling he’d just had?
Maybe he was overthinking?
“You said it—you invited me to ‘worry,’ you know!”
Kasumigaoka calmly patted Himekoji’s shoulder, saying things that sparked wild thoughts.
Even Himekoji blushed.
“Don’t drop the ‘worry’ part, hey!”
The Evil God-sama was still definitely the Evil God-sama.
The hallway corner was busy and filled with people.
Many eyes were already glancing their way.
Himekoji couldn’t take it and bent down quickly to pick up the fallen trash and put it back in the bin.
“I’ll help.”
Kasumigaoka reached out casually and picked up an outer bag of pregnant women’s milk powder.
“No!”
Himekoji panicked and snatched it away.
It wasn’t a big deal, but he felt guilty!
After gathering all the trash, he scrambled to grab the carp soup he’d set aside to help her.
Kasumigaoka’s gaze floated to it.
Sniffing the air, her eyes lit up:
“What’s that? Smells good.”
“Soup.”
Himekoji replied offhandedly.
“You were going to throw it away?”
Since he had the trash bin, that was an easy guess.
Himekoji nodded honestly.
“So wasteful! Better give it to me than toss it.”
Right after her words, Kasumigaoka grabbed the carp soup.
She lifted the lid, and the savory smell filled the air.
It was still warm and even steaming a little.
Her eyes gleamed happily.
But she also scolded Himekoji lightly, giving him a half-grumpy, half-flirty look:
“You’re so heartless, Himekoji! You’d rather pour it out than think of me!”
Before Himekoji could reply, she darted away holding the carp soup.
It was like she feared he’d take it back.
Honestly, Himekoji did want to grab it back—but he was too late.
“Hey, don’t drink that soup!”
By the time Himekoji reacted and chased her, Kasumigaoka had already drunk it.
