Chapter 472: This Isn’t a Request, It’s My Wish
Chapter 472: This Isn’t a Request, It’s My Wish
Earlier, Himekoji Akito had been the one dragging feet, half-heartedly messing things up. Now, it was Lady of the Wicked Lord’s Eye’s turn.
They both had something in common: they tried really hard.
One tried her hardest to win. The other tried his hardest to lose.
But clearly, Himekoji was the better at it.
When the Brave died at Himekoji’s hands in the game, Lady of the Wicked Lord’s Eye was still frozen with disbelief, jaw hanging open.
On the screen, the Wicked Lord she controlled had secretly snuck up behind her own vassal. Attacking her ally with a sneak attack? She was ready to do it anytime.
Thing is, the Brave died way too fast. She just couldn’t react in time.
“Congratulations! You Cleared the Game!”
“Time Used: 1 hour 21 minutes!”
“Performance Score: 100!”
“Ranking: 1st Place!”
Lady of the Wicked Lord’s Eye was completely unprepared for this sudden victory message popping up.
Then, the scene changed. The phone screen showed the ending cutscene—
The vassal was pulling the Wicked Lord along as they fled.
Behind them, countless chunks of rock crashed down with a thunderous roar. They ran, and ran, and ran for their lives. At the tunnel’s end, they saw a brightness unlike anything else in the dungeon. They threw themselves towards that light. And the instant they did, the entire dungeon collapsed into rubble.
Having narrowly escaped, the vassal and the Wicked Lord bent over, hands on their knees, gasping for breath. Finally, they just collapsed flat on their backs onto the dusty ground.
Naturally, they saw drifting clouds and the vast sky. The glaring sunlight made the Wicked Lord squint. She couldn’t help but lift a hand to shield her eyes.
“Is that… the sun?”
It was a question, spoken with faint uncertainty.
Because the Wicked Lord had been sealed away for so long, she’d entirely forgotten the sun’s appearance.
But—
“So beautiful!”
When she breathed this praise, her tone held nothing but absolute certainty.
“Wicked Lord…”
“Hmm?”
“You… you’re beautiful too.”
The Wicked Lord gazed up at the sky, as if seeing it for the first time. But the vassal stared right at her.
Compared to the fresh, strange, never-before-seen white clouds and blue sky, the vassal cared far more about the face right before him – the one he saw whenever he opened or closed his eyes, the face he thought he was bored of.
“What are you mumbling?”
She seemed shy for a second. But immediately after, the Wicked Lord composed her expression, putting her usual dignity back on.
“Close your eyes.”
The Wicked Lord commanded.
“Yes.”
The vassal obeyed.
Exhausted from their escape, the vassal now lay sprawled flat on his back. The Wicked Lord rolled over and sat on top of him.
She leaned down towards him.
Closer and closer, until their noses almost touched. At that very moment, the vassal suddenly opened his eyes.
“Hey! I didn’t say you could open them yet!”
The Wicked Lord panicked instantly. That flustered her looked vivid and adorable.
“But you didn’t say I couldn’t.”
The vassal pushed his luck. He twisted his waist and used his strength. He grabbed the Wicked Lord and flipped them over. In an instant, their positions were reversed; it was woman-under-man-on-top.
“Y-you! You’re overstepping! I-I am your master! Your master!”
His strong, hurried breath fell on her face. The Wicked Lord’s cheeks tingled, then flushed hot. Shyly, she turned her face away, not even daring to meet her vassal’s eyes.
“I know,”
The vassal gently but firmly turned her face back, making her look nowhere else,
“But before that, I’m a man. Your man.”
As his voice faded, his warm, powerful lips pressed heavily down…
—
The screen went black.
Lady of the Wicked Lord’s Eye watched the whole scene, face burning hot. She mumbled silently, unable to get a single word out.
Himekoji wasn’t doing much better. He was stunned too.
He never expected the ending scene after beating the game to be a romance scene!
What?!
Shouldn’t that vassal look incredibly reliable?
Why is his personality basically a domineering boss?!
So this is the kind of vassal he is!
Nice job!
“Mr. Himekoji…”
Just after witnessing such an unexpected scene, in this strange, charged atmosphere, Lady of the Wicked Lord’s Eye suddenly spoke.
Himekoji jumped—
“I won’t close my eyes!”
He immediately announced firmly,
“But… top or bottom, I’m really not picky. That part can be discussed.”
“Huh?!”
It took her a second to grasp Himekoji’s meaning. Lady of the Wicked Lord’s Eye’s face instantly turned beet red,
“I wasn’t saying that!”
Now it was Himekoji’s turn to be stunned.
“You weren’t? If not that, then what else? Hey, can’t you read the atmosphere?!”
“I absolutely refuse to hear that from you, Mr. Himekoji!!!”
Seriously, who here can’t read the atmosphere?!
Lady of the Wicked Lord’s Eye puffed out her cheeks angrily,
“I was trying to ask about that! That! Since we could have cleared the stage smoothly, why did you run back to kill the Brave at the very last second?”
All the recommended strategies urged avoiding the Brave and not fighting him head-on.
You could clear the stage without killing him.
No, rather, the Brave in the final stage was so powerful, killing him was basically impossible.
Escape from the dungeon was only possible by avoiding him. Going head-to-head was pure suicide. That was the consensus among all players on the forums.
But Himekoji killed the Brave.
Why?
Shouldn’t someone purely chasing victory avoid all avoidable risks?
To win, you should choose the safest, most effective strategy.
“Huh? Why? Isn’t it obvious? It’s because only by killing the Brave could the Wicked Lord avoid capture again. And also, the dungeon, sustained by the Brave’s power, could only be destroyed by killing him, right?”
Himekoji stretched lazily as he spoke. He stood up and walked to the window.
With a ‘whoosh’, he pulled open the curtains. Sunlight streamed in through the window, scattering fractured patterns across the floor.
He turned back towards the stunned Lady of the Wicked Lord’s Eye. His smile was quiet as he said,
“There’s no sunshine like that inside a dungeon.”
Lady of the Wicked Lord’s Eye froze.
She stared at him.
Mr. Himekoji stood by the window, bathed in light, as if stepping out from the sun itself.
That Mr. Himekoji, finally spoke to her again—
“Lady of the Wicked Lord’s Eye… you’ve figured it out too, haven’t you?”
“This town… it’s the dungeon trapping you. There’s no sun, no sky, no white clouds… just life under the Brave’s seal.”
“Why trap yourself here until the end?”
“So… come look at the outside world with me?”
“I promise you… the world out there—”
“is really beautiful!”
“This isn’t a request… It’s my wish, made to you.”
