The voice sounded a bit childish, like it belonged to a girl of fifteen or sixteen. Tang Chen frowned and then replied, “Who are you? I don’t know you. Why should I come to pick you up?”

The girl on the other end snorted. She said very assertively, “Aren’t you Tang Chen? My brother told me to find you. Hurry up and come pick me up.”

Tang Chen felt quite satisfied and then said, “Then why don’t you hurry up and tell me what’s going on?”

Wang Xiangyu stopped joking and explained everything clearly: “It’s like this, Big Brother. My parents went abroad for a vacation a couple of days ago, so only my sister and I are left at home. My sister is good in every way, except she’s so talkative—like an old lady—and she nags me every day to take her out. Big Brother, you know I’m a man with ambition. Tang Chen’s mouth twitched, and he said, “Did you spout all that shameless self-praise just so I would babysit your sister?”

She was Wang Xiangyu’s sister, Wang Baobao, already sixteen years old. Unfortunately, because of her face, almost everyone who saw her for the first time thought she was underage.
