Chapter 13: The Evil Azazil

After a sweaty workout, Fang Cheng lay panting on the floor.

The [Stamina +1] notification faded from his vision – today’s harvest. He could clearly feel his body strengthening. Two hours of intense exercise felt significantly easier than yesterday’s session.

Fang Cheng had given his new phone number to the homeroom teacher earlier. Now past 9 PM, the school hadn’t called.

This meant Morishita Yamato hadn’t reported the beating. The guy probably wanted personal revenge while avoiding reputation damage – exactly the situation Fang Cheng hoped for. If Yamato used his family background, things would get complicated.

The surveillance drone still hovered outside. Fang Cheng yanked the curtains shut, washed up, then collapsed onto his bed and grabbed his phone. The mobile game had become his pressure valve, helping release pent-up frustration.

After several ranked matches, a familiar ID appeared – Super Cute Super Powerful God.

“Not this asshole again!”

Fang Cheng cursed but kept playing. He remained ADC while the other stayed support, both heading bot lane.

After repelling an enemy attack, as Fang Cheng retreated to tower with low HP, the support stole his cannon minion.

God Slayer: “*, ”

Super Cute Super Powerful God: “Fair competition.”

“Fair my ass!”

Fang Cheng slammed his fingers against the screen.

The crucial team fight arrived.

“Shield me dammit! Since when do supports hide behind ADC?!”

“Heal! HEAL ME YOU IDIOT!”

During Fang Cheng’s roaring, the support cast ult on himself and flashed away. Exposed and vulnerable, Fang Cheng got instantly deleted by enemy focus fire.

“FUCK!”

Watching their base explode, Fang Cheng hurled his phone into the bedding. After several deep breaths, he rubbed his face.

“Just a game. Not worth getting mad.”

He retrieved his phone and plugged it in.

“Sleep time.”

Lights off, Fang Cheng nestled under blankets. Peaceful breathing filled the dark room.

Thirty minutes later, bloodshot eyes snapped open.

“THAT FUCKING SUPPORT! I’LL MURDER YOUR WHOLE FAMILY!!”

The next day, Fang Cheng crawled out of bed looking like a zombie. He grabbed his phone from the pillow to check the time – 6:30 AM.

He yawned, having slept terribly the night before. He’d even dreamed about catching that idiotic support player.

The opponent kept begging for mercy, but Fang Cheng just grinned and kept grinding the guy’s face into the dirt.

Right when things were getting good, he woke up.

If he ever matched against that trash support again, Fang Cheng swore he’d make the guy quit ranked matches forever.

Why play PvP when you belong in bot games?

Imagining his rival crying and rage-quitting finally motivated Fang Cheng to brush his teeth and wash up. After wolfing down breakfast, he slung his backpack over his shoulder and left.

The police patrol drone reappeared like a bad penny, circling overhead without bothering to hide.

Fang Cheng pretended the drone didn’t exist. He’d considered complaining before, but decided against rocking the boat with government types.

These days, privacy mattered less than a decent meal. Nobody cared anymore.

Fang Cheng reached Kashima High School without incident. In the hallway, he passed some basketball team members doing morning drills. They acted normal, not even glancing his way.

Seemed Morishita Yamato was keeping quiet about their clash. No rush for payback yet.

That worried Fang Cheng more. The longer the wait, the worse the retaliation. Yamato’s type would probably hire goons to cement-shoes him into Tokyo Bay.

Given the chance, Fang Cheng would strike first. But stuck playing defense thanks to his current weakness – immortality aside, he was still a sitting duck. Especially with Kanzaki Rin’s constant surveillance.

As he sat down, Asaka Akihime bounced over. “Morning, Fang-kun!”

Fang Cheng’s eyes dipped toward gravity’s sweet spot before meeting her face. “Morning.”

Even Azazil’s worst traits couldn’t make him dislike this walking fanservice dispenser.

Asaka Akihime: MVP of understanding men! (thumbs up)

“Fang-kun, have you eaten? There’s this amazing bakery…”

She rambled about nothing before casually adding, “Oh, let me know if you need class notes later.”

Seeing Fang Cheng actually awake during yesterday’s lectures had apparently moved her – like watching a delinquent puppy learn to sit.

“Thanks. I’ll ask nicely if I get stuck.”

His gaze caught on a red mark peeking from her sleeve. “Hurt your wrist?”

Asaka Akihime yanked her sleeve down. “Shh! Just a scratch from last night. Looks awful.”

When she didn’t elaborate, Fang Cheng shrugged. “Heard spit disinfects. Need me to lick it?”

She giggled behind her hand. “Ew! Pass.”

After she left, Fang Cheng caught his neighbor Sato’s poorly-hidden envious looks.

“Sato. Your stalker face is showing. You’d get arrested before your first grope.”

“Who would want to be a stalker?”

Sato Hayato instinctively blurted out.

Fang Cheng chuckled, “Looks like Sato’s jealous of my close relationship with Asaka.”

Sato Hayato denied urgently, “I’m not! Don’t make stuff up!”

“Really? What a shame.”

Fang Cheng adopted a regretful expression, “I was about to teach you the way to get closer to Asaka.”

Sato Hayato’s mouth opened and closed, torn between curiosity and suspicion.

Finally he mumbled, “My… my friend wants to know.”

Without mocking him, Fang Cheng asked, “What kind of guy do you think Asaka likes?”

After pondering, Sato Hayato ventured uncertainly, “Someone… Azazil-like?”

Fang Cheng: “…”

Does Area 11 really have no options beyond this cursed Azazil nonsense?

“Pathetic. Did anime rot your brain? Thinking kindness alone wins girls? Naive.”

Fang Cheng wagged his finger, “Through my observation, Asaka likes brave guys who speak their minds. Your wishy-washy attitude won’t work. Confess your feelings! If that fails, stalk her! Without the courage to risk police trouble, how can you chase girls?”

Sato Hayato looked conflicted, “That can’t be right.”

“How’d you know without trying? Don’t you have Asaka’s LINE?”

“N-no.”

“Exactly! Her LINE signature says ‘Do real heroes exist?’ She craves manly heroes. To impress her, act like a real man!”

Fang Cheng force-fed this questionable advice like poisonous love potion.

The youth’s gaze sharpened with determination, “Heroic spirit? I’ll become a heroic man!”

“Can’t hear you! Say it louder!”

“I’LL BECOME A HEROIC MAN!”

Sato Hayato shouted suddenly.

“Good. Show me that energy.”

Fang Cheng patted his shoulder, “I’ll wait with anticipation.”

Pumped with adrenaline, Sato Hayato began scribbling in his workbook feverishly.

Fang Cheng murmured “Youth’s so simple” before opening his own textbook.
