Chapter 11: The Troublesome Kanzaki Rin

“Minister, we’ve brought the guy.”

Morishita Yamato kept practicing his shots, gripping the basketball with both hands as he stared at the hoop.

Miyamoto Masami toyed with her phone while holding milk tea. She glanced up and brightened slightly. “He’s kinda cute.”

Fang Cheng decided taste differences weren’t so bad—at least this woman had decent judgment.

*Clang!*

Morishita Yamato sank a three-pointer.

He grabbed a towel to wipe his sweat and asked casually, “Fang Cheng. You met Kanzaki Rin today, right?”

Fang Cheng had expected this. He smiled. “We talked. Problem?”

Morishita Yamato threw the towel down and turned. “What’s your relationship?”

“None. We just know each other.”

“Oh? How’d you meet?”

“Same school. Isn’t that normal?”

“Normal?”

Morishita Yamato’s lips twisted into a terrifying grin.

“Know how many guys would kill to meet her?”

He loomed closer, radiating menace.

Most students would’ve crumpled under that glare. The two basketball team members tightened their grip on Fang Cheng’s arms, ready to stop him from bolting.

Morishita Yamato stared down at him, voice low. “I don’t care how you lucked into meeting her. From now on, stay away from Kanzaki Rin. Don’t even look at her. Clear?”

The threat couldn’t be plainer.

Fang Cheng nodded. “Sure. But tell *her* that, not me.”

He’d gladly avoid Kanzaki—if she’d stop hounding him. This musclehead had picked the wrong target.

Morishita Yamato’s eye twitched. Was this runt claiming *Kanzaki* chased *him*? The audacity.

No ordinary student dared defy him. Rage transformed the captain into a bristling beast.

Fang Cheng stayed relaxed, but the others stiffened. They’d seen Morishita Yamato pummel a teacher once.

“Quit talking,” Miyamoto Masami chirped, grinning. “Just beat him up!”

Morishita Yamato ripped off his jersey, flexing his bulging chest muscles.

He loved showing off his powerful physique in front of others, particularly relishing the fearful gazes and trembling reactions he provoked. Though Fang Cheng hadn’t shown fear since the confrontation started, Morishita Yamato had beaten plenty who’d acted tough initially.

They all ended up sobbing and begging beneath his fists eventually.

“Hold on. I’ve got something to say.”

Fang Cheng twisted slightly, and the two flanking him released their grip – they weren’t worried about him escaping. He took two steps forward until standing before Morishita Yamato. The height gap between them spanned nearly a head and neck, their size difference making them resemble an adult facing a teenager.

“Must we really do this?” Fang Cheng asked wearily. With enough troubles waiting outside school, he wanted no campus drama. Why clash when both sides shared the same goal anyway?

“What do you think?” Morishita Yamato snarled, seizing Fang Cheng’s shoulder. “You think trash like you can approach Kanzaki Rin… AHH!!”

His threat became a scream as he doubled over, eyes bulging. Fang Cheng’s knee had smashed into his groin without warning.

Though no cracking sound followed, Yamato’s agony proved genuine – even muscle-bound men couldn’t steel that vulnerability. The three spectators froze, never expecting Fang Cheng to attack alone against odds.

While they hesitated, Fang Cheng headbutted Yamato’s lowered face with full force. No holding back – neutralizing this strongest threat first was crucial. Yamato’s own carelessness had allowed the sneak attack.

*CRUNCH*

Blood sprayed as Yamato collapsed, nose twisted sideways. His vaunted muscles proved useless against strikes to weak points.

Fang Cheng staggered, forehead bleeding. The impact nearly concussed him, but unlike the fallen Yamato, his wound healed instantly.

“You bastard!!” The two basketball team members roared, charging.

Fang Cheng whirled, tackling the left attacker with another headbutt. Their skulls collided like crashing boulders, both dropping as blood splattered. Dizzy and bloodied, Fang Cheng saw his opponent curled fetal.

The last member gaped at his fallen boss and comrades. Before fear could take root, anger surged. He dragged Fang Cheng up, pummeling his stomach.

“Damn you!! How dare–”

*THWACK*

His final punch froze mid-swing, caught in Fang Cheng’s grip.

“Hurts, you know.” Fang Cheng grinned through blood-masked features, ghastly as a vengeful spirit. “Done?”

Repeating his tactic, Fang Cheng kneed the thug’s groin, then smashed their skulls together. Three muscular foes now littered the ground, leaving only the bloodied victor standing.

No pride filled him – without his regenerative immortality, that first headbutt would’ve left him unconscious beside Yamato.
