Chapter 479: Oni Yuki’s Strategic Plan

“Mom!”

As soon as Uka Kaori stepped inside, Uka Mirai rushed over and leaped into her arms.

Since returning to the Iron Fortress to help Oni Yuki seize power, the mother and daughter hadn’t seen each other for over half a year.

Uka Kaori held her daughter tightly. Though not biologically related, she’d poured enough maternal love into Uka Mirai that their bond felt no different from blood.

Others quietly gave them space to reunite.

After their private moment, Kanzaki Rin formally introduced Uka Kaori to the household.

Seeing the apartment filled with young beauties, Uka Kaori kept her face neutral while inwardly cursing the playboy. Except for her daughter and Takeda Masumi, all these buxom women clearly revealed the bastard’s taste.

When noticing a woman crouched by the sofa playing phone games, Uka Kaori gasped: “Tamamo-no-Mae?”

She’d seen the legendary monster’s painting at Iron Fortress. Was this mythic being really hiding in Fang Cheng’s home?

Fang Cheng had mentioned seeking Tamamo-no-Mae to resolve the Killing Stone issue during his last Iron Fortress visit. Had he actually captured her within months?

The nine-tailed fox sniffed the air. “That reeks of desperate vixen. You’re one of Iron Fortress’s moon foxes, eh?”

Being called out like this before her daughter made Uka Kaori flush with anger.

The fox spirit sidled closer, grinning. “Did Iron Fortress send you to warm his bed? Quite the bargaining chip. Need lessons in pleasing males?”

Facing the legendary monster, Uka Kaori stood her ground. “I represent the Ghost Lord on official business to Mechanical City. Control yourself.”

“Ghost Lord? I chatted with her father like old pals. She should call me Auntie!”

The nine-tailed fox’s eyes darted between mother and daughter. “Tag-teaming with your kid? How bold.”

Uka Kaori’s face darkened. As Iron Fortress’s second-in-command, she wouldn’t tolerate such slurs – especially not when they brushed against her secret insecurities.

Before she could retort, Fang Cheng barked: “Tamamo! Itching for another spanking? Should I delete your game account?”

The fox instantly slunk back to the sofa, not daring to challenge the man who’d beaten Isis.

Uka Kaori stared in disbelief. Since when did legendary monsters obey humans like trained pets? Where was their pride?

Fang Cheng explained: “Just one of Tamamo’s teenage doppelgangers. Pay her no mind.”

Understanding dawned as Uka Kaori produced a contract. Oni Yuki’s verbal promise to gift Mechanical City now became official – along with lands west of old Sapporo, totaling one-fifth of Hokkaido.

This was Uka Kaori’s greatest show of sincerity during her visit.

Fang Cheng understood Oni Yuki’s generosity stemmed from her hope that he’d protect Iron Fortress during the Lord of All Monsters competition. He gladly accepted this lavish gift.

Now he stood as Area 11’s second-largest landowner after Oni Yuki himself, possessing more territory than Emperor Xiaochuan.

When night fell, Uka Kaori stayed at the apartment to spend time with her daughter.

Fang Cheng had meant to discuss Uka Mirai’s dark transformation, but seeing mother and daughter inseparable, he postponed it till morning.

The welcoming feast ended past midnight.

Instead of retiring to her own room, Uka Kaori entered her daughter’s bedroom wearing a nightgown.

Uka Mirai was thrilled – her mother hadn’t shared her bed since she turned ten.

Lying together, they appeared closer in age, though Uka Kaori’s dignified and graceful demeanor prevented anyone from mistaking her for a youth.

Uka Mirai clung to her mother, chirping about her adventures over the past year.

Uka Kaori stroked her daughter’s dog ears, feeling both comfort and worry in her heart.

Clearly Uka Mirai thrived here – the girls treated her kindly rather than bullying her.

Yet Fang Cheng seemed to view her purely as a sister.

She wondered if Qingxue had succeeded with Fang Cheng yet – their entire Iron Fortress strategy hinged on this pillow breeze plan.

“Mom? Mom?”

Uka Kaori blinked. “Yes?”

Uka Mirai pouted, squeezing her mother’s chest bounty larger than her own face. “Why’d you get so huge?”

“You’ll grow too,” Uka Kaori replied, torn between laughter and embarrassment.

“Never!”

Uka Mirai wailed, “I’m sixteen and still microwave-sized!”

Seeing tears forming, Uka Kaori soothed her while sighing internally.

How could Fang Cheng notice a microwave when surrounded by towering waves?

Uka Mirai hefted her mother’s assets enviously. “If I had these, Cheng-brother would like me!”

Uka Kaori flushed, slapping her hands away. “Don’t talk nonsense!”

Her blush came not from her daughter’s words, but memories of Oni Yuki’s final instructions.

Fang Cheng’s meteoric rise now eclipsed Iron Fortress completely.

Their paramount mission became courting his favor through Oni Yuki’s pillow breeze strategy.

Given Fang Cheng’s notorious LSP tendencies, flooding him with women seemed their best bet.

Iron Fortress offered nothing else he might want – friendship alone wouldn’t suffice.

Oni Yuki had warned: if neither Mirai nor Qingxue succeeded, she and her sister would have to intervene personally.

The ruler herself might even join if necessary.

Uka Kaori knew this wasn’t idle talk – Iron Fortress’s interests outweighed their individual happiness entirely.

Even the Ghost Lord wanted to step in personally – how could subordinates refuse? This was why the nine-tailed fox’s remark about “mother and daughter teaming up” had irritated Uka Kaori. After finally coaxing her daughter to sleep, Uka Kaori remained awake with heavy thoughts. She rose and stepped out to the balcony, gazing at the Mechanical City beneath nightfall.

Fang Cheng lay in bed awake. He attempted to make Iyaya talk, to extract secrets about his mother’s condition, Tsukimi Narumi’s conversation with Isis, the kingdom of the undead, the Lord of All Monsters, and even Uka Mirai’s situation. He sensed Iyaya knew these hidden truths – any scrap of information would prove valuable.

Iyaya straddled Fang Cheng, moving automatically while mimicking Uka Kaori’s appearance. She ignored his probing questions, giggling instead: “Your excitement spiked 30% when I took this form. Such filthy thoughts.”

“Filthier than you?” Fang Cheng shot back. “Since you won’t answer anything else, at least tell me about the Gates of Heaven. I need to find mother’s body.”

“We’ll discuss that later.” Iyaya smirked. “Want me to try something new? Roleplay perhaps?”

“Aren’t you roleplaying already?”

“Proper roleplay. Choose a scenario.”

“Whatever.” Fang Cheng shrugged, so long as it didn’t involve four straight months of exertion.

“Oni Yuki ordered Uka Kaori to please you and cement ties with Iron Fortress. After midnight’s hesitation, she nervously comes to offer herself.” Iyaya grinned. “How’s this plot?”

Fang Cheng’s face darkened with black lines. “You’re too creative.”

She blinked away. Fang Cheng stared at the ceiling, muttering curses. He’d tended to her half the night until his back ached, yet learned nothing.

The door creaked open moments later. Fang Cheng showed no surprise – locks and bolts meant little to an evil god.

In the darkness, Fang Cheng’s night vision revealed Uka Kaori entering in a silk nightgown. He had to admit, he felt a flicker of anticipation.

Uka Kaori slipped under the blankets before freezing. As a monster, she could see in the dark too – only now noticing the unfamiliar decor and wrong bedmate.

She turned in shock to find Fang Cheng studying her with odd intensity, nearly making her yelp. She’d meant to return from the balcony to her room, following her memories – how had she stumbled here?

“I… I took a wrong turn.”

Uka Kaori, lacking her usual calmness, said in panic as she instinctively tried to rise and leave.

Fang Cheng cooperatively pressed her back down. “You want to leave after coming here?”

“What are you doing? Release me!”

Uka Kaori grew more nervous, struggling urgently.

Their power difference proved too great as she got easily subdued.

Fang Cheng gazed at the panting, blushing Uka Kaori. Though knowing this was fake, he still felt tempted and leaned in for a kiss.

She twisted her face away. “Stop this madness!”

Being both a guest and future mother figure, how dared he act so?

Were it not for fear of waking others, she’d have blasted him off the bed with spells.

Fang Cheng grinned at Iyaya’s impressive acting. “Would you disobey Yuki’s orders?”

Uka Kaori froze. “Did Lord Yuki tell you?”

“What do you think?”

Her mind blanked. The pillow talk strategy was known only to Oni Yuki, her sister, and herself.

Why would Lord Yuki reveal this privately?

Was her diplomatic mission meant as deliberate offering?

Resistance weakened as bitterness flooded her heart. Though a monster, she wasn’t loose – just haunted by past entanglement with Fang Cheng.

Complying tonight might erase their bond, leaving only transactional interests. Worse, he kept forcing her despite knowing.

“I understand.”

She ceased struggling, closing her eyes.

As Fang Cheng prepared to act, he noticed tear tracks glistening on her face.

The sight cleared his fogged mind. Why would Iyaya suggest roleplay?

This reeked of trap. His thoughts had been manipulated.

“You’re Uka Kaori?”

She opened cold eyes. “Hurry if you’ll do it.”

He abruptly released her, rolling aside.

Uka Kaori: “……”

Finished already?

She knew intimacy wasn’t this simple. Why stop?

Fang Cheng met her confusion. “It’s a trap. We’ve been tricked.”

“The evil god again?” she realized instantly.

Last time under influence, she’d begged him to choose her over her daughter. Now this shameful replay.

“You promised the evil god would behave!” she hissed, secretly relieved he’d been manipulated too.

“Since when do evil gods keep promises?”

Studying her flushed face, he asked: “Fox, did Yuki truly order this seduction?”

Crimson cheeks betrayed her. “N-no such thing!”

Good – confirmation.

Fang Cheng sighed. Oni Yuki kept pushing women at him. If only Kanzaki Rin copied this behavior.

He eyed Uka Kaori. If not for Uka Mirai complicating things, he’d pursue this fox properly.

Squirming under his gaze, she gathered the blanket. “I’m leaving.”

“Too early. More chat?”

She daredn’t stay – another evil god episode would doom them.

Before exiting, the door reopened.

Both turned to see familiar figure entering.
