Chapter 58: The Feng Shui Killing Formation
Chapter 58: The Feng Shui Killing Formation
“For hitting Brother Fengzi?! For harming people?! For stealing?!”
Under the night sky, a small figure wandered around the fourth small building in the large courtyard. He climbed a big tree at one moment and lingered near a wall corner the next, all while muttering words only he could hear.
After more than half an hour, Ye Tian’s small frame finally stopped. He looked at the small building before him, whose Yang Energy was completely blocked and whose Yin Energy was gradually turning into Sha Qi, and a satisfied smile appeared on his face.
Yin-Yang Qi was originally harmless. However, if one side became unbalanced, it would affect people’s health and the surrounding environment. Yin Energy could cause physical weakness and frequent illness, while excessive Yang Energy could lead to irritability and a quick temper.
What Ye Tian did was simple. Using the principle of mirror reflection, he created a sharp-cornered Form-Shape Sha, blocking all the Vital and Auspicious Energy outside the door. This would turn the small building into a Yin Sha Land in the shortest possible time.
This was also why, for thousands of years, few dared to offend Fengshui Masters.
Even in modern times, let alone ancient times when beliefs in gods and spirits were widespread, some elders who deeply understood the ways of Feng Shui held great respect for these Jianghu practitioners and did not dare offend them in the slightest.
However, with the introduction of Western culture and modern science and technology in recent times, Feng Shui and Physiognomy were now seen as Feudal Superstition that hindered social progress, swept into the currents of history.
Moreover, by the present day, the ancient Occult Arts had long been mostly lost. Those who could, like Ye Tian, set up such a deadly Nine Palaces and Eight Trigrams Feng Shui Arrangement using just a few small mirrors were probably few and far between in this world.
Nowadays, the most skilled feng shui masters hidden among the people could, at best, only slightly alter local environments or a person’s Qi Luck.
Even the Old Taoist, if he wanted to completely block the Vital and Auspicious Energy of the small building, would probably need to spend several days calculating with a Luopan. Whether he could achieve the same level as Ye Tian was another matter entirely.
“Heh heh, even if Master saw this Killing Formation, he wouldn’t be able to fully undo it, right?”
Thinking of the Old Taoist back in the county town, Ye Tian grinned proudly. His Killing Formation did not follow the principles of the Nine Palaces and Eight Trigrams. Instead, it directly targeted each stream of Yin and Yang Energy, blocking them all outside.
Furthermore, several of the mirrors were hidden over ten meters high up in the big tree. It was absolutely impossible for an ordinary person to find them. Even if they were discovered, no one would connect them to a Feng Shui Arrangement.
After one last glance at the small building that would soon become a Yin Sha Land, Ye Tian walked leisurely out of the large courtyard and found Feng Kuang, who was playing cards with others under a streetlight.
“Ye Tian, how did it go?”
Pulling Ye Tian to a quiet spot, Feng Kuang’s voice trembled a little. He knew in his heart that today’s success or failure concerned the future of their Recycling Station. He had placed all his hopes on Ye Tian.
“It’s done. Something should happen within five days, right?”
Ye Tian didn’t dare speak with absolute certainty. He had mostly heard from his Master about how Yang Dwelling Feng Shui could affect people’s health and fortune. He had only seen one example himself, at Miao Laoda’s house.
Even though Ye Tian was confident he could turn that small building into a Yin Sha Land within five days, he couldn’t be sure exactly what kind of thing would happen.
“Five days?!”
Feng Kuang clenched his fists tightly by his sides. He glanced at the high-walled courtyard and said, “Let’s go. If we don’t go back soon, Uncle Ye will start worrying again.”
“Oh, right, Brother Fengzi. Tomorrow I’ll write a note. You put it in an envelope and deliver it to a certain household. Be careful; don’t let anyone see you.”
Walking along the road, Ye Tian remembered the scars his father got from pulling the handcart, and he couldn’t help but feel a surge of resentment. This matter needed to be resolved as soon as possible.
“Ye Tian, what kind of note?” Feng Kuang asked curiously.
“Brother Fengzi, just deliver it. Why ask so many questions?”
Ye Tian actually didn’t know the meaning of the words that had appeared in his mind either. There were only a few times, locations, and names. But he instinctively felt these things could help his dad and the others.
…
Just after Ye Tian and Feng Kuang left, the Old Taoist, dressed like a venerable master, appeared at the gate of the large courtyard. Somehow, he managed to convince an old man living in the courtyard, who respectfully invited him inside.
After getting rid of the old man who had let him in, the Old Taoist strolled around the courtyard as if taking a walk.
“Nine Flying Stars Chart?”
This was, after all, knowledge the Old Taoist had taught Ye Tian. He could naturally recognize the Feng Shui Arrangement of the large courtyard at a glance, spotting even the incomplete palace positions.
“Hmm? The place where that Dai Rongcheng lives? How can it be a Yin Sha Land?”
When he saw the two-story building where Dai Rongcheng lived, Li Shanyuan’s expression changed. The needle on the Luopan hidden inside the sleeve of his Taoist Robe spun non-stop. The more the Old Taoist looked, the grimmer his face became.
In such a vicious and baleful place, one would probably fall ill within a few days of living there. Li Shanyuan didn’t know how the people inside could still be alive until now.
“It’s Little Yezi’s handiwork, a freshly laid deadly Fengshui Killing Formation…”
After walking around the small building once, the Old Taoist also saw some clues and even found a small mirror behind a section of the wall.
Looking at the ten-cent mirror, the Old Taoist couldn’t help but murmur, “Good heavens, this… this kid is going for total annihilation?”
Ye Tian’s methods sent a slight chill down the Old Taoist’s spine.
Having lived for so many years, this was the first time he had seen such a dangerously evil Yang Dwelling Feng Shui Killing Formation. The Old Taoist asked himself, even if he wanted to find all the small mirrors Ye Tian had placed, it would be impossible.
Ye Tian’s Feng Shui Killing Formation had no discernible Formation structure. Instead, he directly used his eyes to observe and block all the Vital and Auspicious Energy of the small building. The Old Taoist, however, did not possess Ye Tian’s Feng Shui eyes that could gather Primordial Qi. He’d be lucky to find four or five out of the eight mirrors.
Looking at this perfect Feng Shui Killing Formation, which even he couldn’t have set up, the Old Taoist felt deeply conflicted. He didn’t know whether passing on the knowledge of Feng Shui and Physiognomy to Ye Tian was a blessing or a curse.
If this were before liberation or in ancient times, when the Occult Arts flourished and skilled people were abundant, although Ye Tian’s Feng Shui Arrangement was cleverly laid, it wasn’t something no one could crack. Although the Jianghu was far more dangerous back then, with checks and balances, there would always be someone who could keep Ye Tian in check.
But in modern society with its perfected legal system, Feng Shui arts had completely declined. The Old Taoist dared assert that not only would no one be able to detect this Feng Shui Killing Formation, but even if they did, they would be powerless to break it.
Moreover, such mystical arts were not accepted by modern people. Even if you went out shouting to the world that this was a Yin Sha Land, probably no one would pay attention to you. They certainly wouldn’t believe that any accident befalling the people in the small building was the work of a feng shui master.
So from this perspective, there was no one left in the world who could counterbalance Ye Tian. If Ye Tian’s character was not good, the harm he could cause to society would be immeasurable.
It wasn’t that the Old Taoist was soft-hearted. He just didn’t want to see Ye Tian become someone who acted solely based on his own likes and dislikes. If that happened, Ye Tian would eventually play with fire and get burned, unable to be tolerated by the great Heavenly Dao.
“It seems this old Taoist will have to toil again.”
Li Shanyuan shook his head. Merely teaching his disciple skills was not enough. He also needed to make him understand some Jianghu Rules and principles of conduct. Just talking about these things wouldn’t work. He had to let Ye Tian personally integrate into society.
After thinking for a moment, the Old Taoist used his Luopan to observe the area again. Finally, he took a small mirror from the corner of the wall and tucked it into his Taoist Robe. Ye Tian’s Killing Formation was too ruthless and severe; it probably went against the harmony of heaven. The Old Taoist felt he should help lessen some of the deadly aura here.
