Chapter 447: Unless You Can Convince Me
Chapter 447: Unless You Can Convince Me
“Is there a gift for me?”
Tsukikage Chuxia blinked her eyes, suddenly imagining something and drooling: “Could it be catnip?”
“Something much more meaningful than catnip.”
Fang Cheng walked over, crouched down, and chuckled while patting her belly: “You’ll love this for sure.”
Images of cola, dried fish, and classic console games flashed through Tsukikage Chuxia’s mind. She tried to get up but struggled due to her chubby body. Exhausted from rolling around earlier, she couldn’t even flip over properly.
Forced to change tactics, she twisted her body into human form.
Human-form Tsukikage Chuxia looked less plump than her true self, though her once-slim figure had grown slightly rounder. Her oval face now carried a hint of baby fat.
She resembled Qingxue exactly but appeared years younger – cute and pretty without any mature charm. Her flat chest mirrored Uka Mirai’s, suggesting they’d share similar complaints.
Fang Cheng kept his hand on Tsukikage Chuxia’s soft belly as she lounged in summer clothes. Neither felt awkward – he saw her as a lazy younger sister, while she viewed him merely as her food provider.
Scrambling up, Tsukikage Chuxia snorted triumphantly at Qingxue. Though weaker in fights, having the food-giver on her side counted as strategic win.
Qingxue ignored her twin’s antics, calmly taking Fang Cheng’s half-empty teacup to the kitchen for refill.
Tsukikage Chuxia stuck her tongue at Qingxue’s back. Unlike that Ice Block, she knew tricks to keep her feeder loyal.
They stopped before an apartment door. Fang Cheng pushed it open, revealing…
A massive running cage.
“Made it myself,” Fang Cheng announced. “Electric shocks, flames, new functions – you’ll love this.” He tugged Tsukikage Chuxia inside.
The catgirl paled, backpedaling until Fang Cheng caught her.
“Ah Cheng! Don’t do this!”
“Boss lady’s orders. We’re getting your weight down.” He gripped her softening waist. “Didn’t think it necessary… till I saw your true form.”
Tsukikage Chuxia clung to the doorframe, wailing: “I’ll diet tomorrow! No cage!”
“Diets fail. This cage is your new home.” Despite protests, he stuffed her inside.
He dragged the contraption outdoors for full effect. Beyond shocks and fire, boxes of joy and dried fish stood ready.
Run too slow: joy poured down sewer, fish burned. Maintain top speed: treats delivered.
Every watt powering this nightmare came from Tsukikage Chuxia’s own frantic running.
I was running on the treadmill to generate electricity and torture myself; there’s no more inspiring way to lose weight.
Fang Cheng and Qingxue each held tea while watching Tsukikage Chuxia’s moonlit exercise in the courtyard. Seeing her get zapped and howl in agony made for perfect evening entertainment.
“Aren’t you sisters? Why such a bad relationship? Did something happen before?”
After thirty minutes of watching, Fang Cheng finally turned to Qingxue.
This time Qingxue didn’t deny their sisterhood: “No conflicts. We’re just incompatible.”
The twins had been adopted separately by Uka Kaori and Tsukikage Hoshi as children, never sharing a life together. Though they later met and acknowledged their blood ties, their personalities had already solidified.
The disciplined, cold-toned Qingxue despised lazy slackers – precisely where Tsukikage Chuxia excelled. Meanwhile, Chuxia hated rigid killjoys. Their relationship worsened instead of improving.
Fang Cheng found their mutual dislike surprisingly simple. Considering their adoptive mothers’ rivalry between the Fox Sisters, the cats’ animosity made sense – raised by opposing foxes, they’d naturally clash.
“I’m traveling soon,” Fang Cheng told Qingxue. “You’re both coming.”
With Mechanical City stabilized, he planned monster hunts. Though initially going alone, he decided to bring the cats for training.
Snow Cat monsters had high potential, especially these Iron Fortress-chosen twins. The Fox Sisters had meant to raise them as great monsters, but first-time adopters messed up.
Qingxue became a jack-of-all-trades – business, management, logistics – yet never received proper battle training. Her Hazard Level B abilities developed naturally. Tsukikage Chuxia fared worse – a portly receptionist skilled in eating, street racing, substance abuse, and gaming during work hours. Her obesity left her below Hazard Level B.
Like Sato Hayato whose power surged recently, these cats deserved growth opportunities. Letting their potential rot would be wasteful.
Qingxue didn’t oppose the plan, only asking: “Will Rin permit this?”
Kanzaki Rin guarded Fang Cheng like he’d steal kisses – would she approve him traveling long-term with two cats?
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Fang Cheng puffed up. “My decisions stand. Wrap up your work and prepare.”
Qingxue nodded silently. If possible, she wanted to boost her combat power too – no longer content being overshadowed by former rival Kanzaki Rin.
At nightfall, Kanzaki Rin returned with Others to find a fat cat jogging in the courtyard. The girls couldn’t resist cute creatures – though oversized, Chuxia’s chubbiness held charm.
Seeing Tsukikage Chuxia getting zapped in the running cage, everyone felt sorry for her.
“Big sisters, save me!”
Tsukikage Chuxia cried out with teary eyes like she’d found rescuers: “Ah Cheng’s heartless! He’s torturing poor animals!”
The girls couldn’t bear this and all demanded Fang Cheng release her.
Fang Cheng tried explaining patiently, but the sly cat kept milking their sympathy with pitiful acts and cute gestures.
Seeing she’d run all day, Fang Cheng moved to free her from the cage.
Qingxue suddenly spoke up: “This cat shares a close relationship with Lord Cheng. They even made a promise together.”
Fang Cheng’s outstretched hand got snatched mid-air.
Kanzaki Rin yanked his arm back, smiling sweetly: “What kind of promise?”
Others fixed him with intense gazes.
“Don’t get the wrong idea!”
Fang Cheng shrugged: “Just a deal where I give her cola and dried fish in exchange for petting sessions.”
“That’s all?”
“What else? I’m not twisted enough to harass some fat cat!”
Though the misunderstanding cleared, nobody suggested freeing Tsukikage Chuxia anymore.
Instead, they supported Fang Cheng’s reasoning.
“She’s too chubby – needs exercise.”
“Obesity’s dangerous for small animals.”
“Be good and exercise, Cat Cat. Big sister will watch you~”
Tsukikage Chuxia felt this beat any roller coaster ride – plummeting from heaven to hell instantly. She couldn’t grasp why the women’s attitudes shifted so suddenly, leaving the poor cat utterly baffled.
Only when midnight snacks arrived did Fang Cheng finally free her, rewarding the exhausted cat with dried fish.
She spent the next hour chasing him revengefully around the house.
Deep in the night when all slept, Fang Cheng brought Kanzaki Rin outside to enjoy the darkness. He revealed his plans.
“Absolutely not!”
Kanzaki Rin rejected instantly: “Our work still needs Qingxue. You want to protect Mirai? What if danger comes while you’re away?”
This surface reason hid her genuine concern – she wouldn’t let Fang Cheng take two cats out only to return with a whole litter.
“Stop pretending. Qingxue’s just handling paperwork anyone could do. Mirai’s got big brother guarding her, and I’ll stay nearby.”
Though Fang Cheng prepared logical arguments, Kanzaki Rin’s opposition wasn’t based on reason. Their debate went nowhere – he argued till hoarse, she remained unmoved.
Finally losing patience, he growled: “Last chance – agree or not?”
Kanzaki Rin sneered: “Unless you convince me properly, forget it.”
After her hard work in Mechanical City, this bastard wanted to take mistresses on vacation? Never!
“You asked for it.”
