The purple-robed youth’s eyes were sharp as knives. Then his gaze fell on the ancient beast beside him, his eyes twitching violently. This primordial rare mount was a rare opportunity he had obtained from an ancient grotto-abode.

His attire, however, marked him as an elder of the Blazing Sun Palace. His expression was cool as he casually toyed with a fiery-red Jade Ruyi Scepter, which emitted a faint, warm, jade-like spiritual glow.
He took a step forward and addressed the Chengyuan elder with a genial smile.
“Elder Brother Daoist, your words are too harsh! This is merely some friendly sparring and exchange among younger disciples. Why escalate things so severely?”
Pausing briefly, the Blazing Sun Palace Earth Immortal looked at the gathered crowd.
“Elder Brother Daoist, please extinguish this groundless anger!”
His eyes swept upward toward the mountain-sized lump of charcoal hovering above, a flicker of darkness visible within them. After a moment, he stepped toward the crowd and spoke calmly.
“Objectively speaking, this ancient beast, driven by greed and its wild nature, did indeed lapse in discipline. However, your sect’s disciple here should not have struck so ruthlessly, destroying the ancient rare beast our Blazing Sun Palace painstakingly nurtured!”
He glanced at Lin Yuan, reddish immortal radiance shimmering faintly in his eyes.
“This isn’t simply my junior apprentice-nephew Mu Heng being overly aggrieved. All elder brothers here understand perfectly well what such an ancient rare beast represents to us. With such a treasure destroyed at this disciple’s hands… he surely must be held accountable.”
Several Chengyuan elders who had arrived exchanged glances.
By all rights, the Blazing Sun Palace True Inheritor was the one who had acted rudely first by letting his mount run wild, sparking this conflict. Yet, this Blazing Sun Palace elder’s words weren’t without merit.

The others remained silent.
The truth was, if the Chengyuan Immortal Sect currently held power over the Blazing Sun Palace, simply slaughtering that Roc outright wouldn’t have been an issue. However, the Blazing Sun Palace’s influence was immense. While Chengyuan wasn’t afraid of them, rashly provoking enmity was unwise.

One cold-eyed Daoist pondered briefly, then shook his head.
“Junior Brother Meng, what kind of talk is that? You can’t mean to abandon this disciple?” Another Daoist’s expression darkened.
“This Inner Sect Disciple has such solid foundations and even commands the Innate Thunder Method! With minimal nurturing, I don’t see why he would be inferior to this Mu Heng! To abandon a disciple like this — do you realize how deeply it would chill the hearts of our disciples?”
The cold-eyed Daoist turned his head with a sneer.
“Junior Brother Yuan, what do you suggest then? Don’t forget, our Chengyuan Sect is currently cooperating with the Blazing Sun Palace in many areas!”
“The Left Path’s Six Lineages are acting up more frequently. We still need them! Several major undertakings planned by our sect require the assistance of Blazing Sun Palace’s immortals! The Mu Family’s Patriarch holds significant authority among them!”
“And don’t assume I’m blinded. With us here, he won’t lose his life. Suffering a setback might even be good for him!”
“A piece of jade needs carving to become a treasure. Letting him run wild truly would ruin this fine piece of raw jade!”
The cold-eyed Daoist’s expression shifted. His Dao cultivation was nearing a crucial breakthrough that required borrowing a Grotto-Heaven Spiritual Vein within the Blazing Sun Palace to suppress a tribulation. Compared to this, other matters were trivial.
The other Daoists exchanged glances; they didn’t oppose him.
