Chapter 149: Intelligence Analysis
Chapter 149: Intelligence Analysis
The intelligence sold by the System was indeed extremely expensive.
After paying 300 million Credit Points, Lei Yaotian successfully purchased the intelligence he wanted.
Lei Yaotian had now brought his Heavy Aircraft Carrier into a special Space to meet with Andrew and began waiting for the Dimensional War to start in twelve hours.
This was a silent, dark Space that seemed to have been this way since ancient times.
Countless Warships, gleaming with a metallic luster all over, were densely parked in this void.
Lei Yaotian’s Warship was the largest, and because he was the employer, his Space Carrier was designated as the command ship.
In the luxurious conference room of the Space Carrier, Lei Yaotian and Andrew met with the three mercenaries from the ‘Stardust’ Mercenary Corps. After exchanging some greetings, everyone took their seats.
Lei Yaotian picked up the intelligence purchased from the System and placed it on the table, saying loudly, “Gentlemen, this is the intelligence on our enemies. Please take a careful look and try to understand the details thoroughly. If I guess correctly, the other side probably has our intelligence too.”
Bob picked up the intelligence and examined it very carefully. His two companions leaned in and looked down at it with him.
Lei Yaotian turned to Andrew and said, “Bruce betrayed us. I never thought the System would eliminate him.”
Andrew curled his lip and said disdainfully, “I originally considered him a friend, but like my other friends, he ended up abandoning me. It’s just as well that the System eradicated him; it saves me the annoyance of seeing him later. For someone who betrays friendship, such an outcome is not surprising at all.”
After speaking, Andrew showed a strange expression and said to Lei Yaotian, “But I find it very strange why Bruce faced such a fate for betraying you, while none of my other friends encountered anything like this.”
If you betray me in the future, the System will probably treat you the same way.
Lei Yaotian thought to himself.
Lei Yaotian did not plan to tell Andrew about Andrew being in that triangular frame.
The incident with Bruce gave Lei Yaotian some additional thoughts.
Was Andrew reliable? Was he worth forming a deep bond with? All of this needed time to verify.
This time, he was helping Andrew because of the threat of System Elimination. Without that threat, his decision would likely have been the same as Bruce’s.
Putting himself in another’s shoes, Lei Yaotian wondered if, in the future when he encountered enemies in a Dimensional War, Andrew would lend a helping hand.
Everyone knows how to say polite words and words of gratitude.
Saying is one thing, but doing is another. After all, whether a person is worth associating with depends on whether they can step up at critical moments.
Actually, what Lei Yaotian didn’t know was that in Andrew’s heart, he was already a brother worth risking his life for.
After all, when all his friends cut ties with him, only Lei Yaotian firmly stood by his side and joined him in this Dimensional War to face powerful enemies together.
In Andrew’s view, there was nothing more to say.
Of course, Andrew didn’t know that Lei Yaotian was doing this because of the threat of System Elimination. Without that threat, the Lei Yaotian he saw as loyal, righteous, and trustworthy would have likely avoided him just like the others.
But since Andrew didn’t know about this, in his mind, Lei Yaotian was a good friend and brother who was loyal, valued friendship, and kept his word!
After hearing Andrew’s question, Lei Yaotian also pretended to look puzzled. After a while, he said, “I’m not very clear about that either. Maybe the System has some hidden functions. Anyway, after Bruce left, he deleted me from his friends list, and the System’s punishment notification also informed me.”
Lei Yaotian made a funny face and spread his hands.
Andrew fell silent for a moment, then said, “Maybe the System really has some hidden functions, but that’s none of my business. It serves Bruce right for being such a terrible person. You know, when I met him at the market, he was just one day away from being eliminated if he couldn’t pay his Tax.”
Andrew brought up this past event with indignation.
“If it weren’t for you producing Special-Grade Energy and letting him act as an agent to sell it, allowing him to earn a large amount of Credit Points, I think he would have been eliminated long ago. He wouldn’t have lived so comfortably and freely.”
Lei Yaotian raised his hand and waved it, saying, “Ah, let’s not talk about these things anymore. After all, I gave him the Energy to sell because he had the sales channels. Also, it was because he had an Energy collector. Without that machine, I wouldn’t have been able to convert the particles in the air from my place into Energy. So, to be precise, we benefited mutually.”
Andrew still felt it was unfair for Lei Yaotian and said, “That’s not entirely true. If it weren’t for you, this guy would have been eliminated by the System. But what chills me is that Bruce actually deleted you from his friends list just because you made a suggestion.”
Andrew spoke while shaking his head.
“It’s just human nature. Don’t think too much about it. After all, Bruce paid the price for his decision, and that price was his life, wasn’t it?”
Thinking that Bruce had already been eliminated by the System, Andrew felt a bit better.
“It’s a pity my other friends weren’t eliminated; otherwise, I’d feel even better,” Andrew thought to himself.
“Andrew, what good stuff have you prepared?” Lei Yaotian asked at this point.
Andrew straightened up and looked at Bob and the others, who were checking the enemy’s intelligence.
“I’m not as lucky as you, having an Intelligent Butler to remind me. You should know I’m only a second-tier Merchant now, and I didn’t even know I could hire other Merchants to fight in the System. So, I spent all my money and bought a Deity.”
“A Deity? And you bought it!”
Lei Yaotian was very surprised.
Andrew nodded, “Yes, a real Deity. He was captured after being defeated in war. The Deity who captured him was also a Dimensional Merchant, so he decided to sell him as goods, making use of him to earn some Credit Points.”
Clap! Clap!
Andrew clapped his hands, and a Knight walked in from outside, followed by a man over two meters tall, with sculpted muscles like those in Greek mythology.
This man had a black mark on his forehead, indicating he was Andrew’s private Slave.
“He is a second-level Main God from an A-grade Fantasy Dimension, with a Divinity Rank of three. Although not the most powerful, he counts as a mid-level Deity,” Andrew said to Lei Yaotian, pointing at the man.
“A Deity with only three Divinity Rank points actually cost Andrew all his wealth. How many Credit Points did that require? Moreover, a Deity with three Divinity Rank points isn’t all that powerful, at best only stronger than a Demigod.” Lei Yaotian felt that Andrew spending all his money was totally not worth it.
“Andrew, I don’t think it’s worth it. How many Credit Points did you use to buy this Deity?” Lei Yaotian asked.
Andrew hesitated for a moment before replying, “It took a total of over 360 billion Credit Points to buy this Deity Slave.”
“What a waste!” Lei Yaotian gritted his teeth in frustration. “Over 300 billion Credit Points would be enough to hire another squad of a Mercenary Corps. That would surely be much stronger than a Deity with only three Divinity Rank points. At least, that’s how Lei Yaotian saw it.”
This guy got scammed. No Deity with only three Divinity Rank points should cost over 300 billion Credit Points. Besides, he’s only an A-grade Deity, not even S-grade.
Andrew also knew he had been taken for a fool.
At this moment, Bob and the others finished reading the enemy’s intelligence, speaking up to ease the awkward atmosphere.
“Mr. Odin, we have reviewed the enemy’s information. I think we have an eighty percent chance of winning this war,” Bob said to Lei Yaotian and Andrew after placing the intelligence back on the table.
“Eighty percent chance? Are you really that confident? The enemy has far more people than us, and their mobilizable war power is much stronger than ours.” Of course, Lei Yaotian was happy to hear about the high chance, but he was still a bit worried.
“The outcome of the war also affects our lives as mercenaries, sir,” Bob said very seriously, looking at Lei Yaotian.
Indeed, as the hired party, if the employer fails, the only outcome for the hired Merchants is death.
So, the hired party and the employer are completely tied together, sharing glory and loss.
“Tell us your analysis,” Lei Yaotian and Andrew both focused intently.
Bob glanced at his companions, then picked up the intelligence and said to Lei Yaotian, “According to the intelligence, the Magic Fruit Business Alliance has a total of one T-grade Sci-Fi Merchant, three E-grade Sci-Fi Merchants, one C-grade Fantasy Merchant, and two D-grade Fantasy Merchants, making seven Merchants in total.”
Lei Yaotian and Andrew listened quietly.
“So, based on the information from the intelligence, the main combat power we face comes from the E-grade Sci-Fi Merchants’ Warship attacks. As for that T-grade Dimensional Merchant, I estimate he’s just Cannon Fodder and doesn’t require much attention from us. We only need to allocate a small portion of our Warships to contain him.”
“Then how do we deal with those Fantasy Dimension Merchants?” Lei Yaotian asked urgently.
Hearing this, Bob looked at Lei Yaotian and said, “That depends on what kind of battlefield the System randomly generates. If it’s a space battle, it’s more advantageous for us. If it’s close-quarters combat, then the enemy’s Fantasy Merchants will shine.”
“So that’s how the war scenario works,” Lei Yaotian finally understood.
“But didn’t you say earlier that I could purchase the war scenario through the System?”
Bob nodded and said, “That’s right! But that requires a huge amount of Credit Points.”
