Chapter 28: I Want to Build a Huge…
Chapter 28: I Want to Build a Huge…
“Gun Fu?”
Fatty Lei whispered the words softly.
“Yes, Master. This is my random skill,” Wangcai explained to Fatty Lei like a devoted underling. “Every Intelligent Butler, when born, is randomly assigned one skill. My skill is this ‘Gun Fu’.”
“Do all butlers have such random skills? I really didn’t know this; this is the first time you’ve told me,” Fatty Lei said to Wangcai.
“And you Intelligent Butlers, is there one for every Dimensional Merchant?” Fatty Lei thought of that guy Andrew. He hadn’t seen any Intelligent Butler around him. So a question formed in Fatty Lei’s mind: “Are Intelligent Butlers not available to every merchant?”
Seeing Fatty Lei ask this, Wangcai replied, “Just as you said, Master, Intelligent Butlers like us aren’t obtained by every merchant. It’s like winning a lottery; the System randomly gives this benefit to new merchants in no fixed pattern. And the probability is very small,” Wangcai explained slowly to Fatty Lei.
“Then that Andrew, it seems he doesn’t have an Intelligent Butler by his side, right?” Fatty Lei rolled his eyes and guessed.
Wangcai nodded. “Probably not. We’ve interacted with him several times, and never saw anyone by his side. So, from that we can guess, Andrew has no Intelligent Butler with him,” Wangcai answered Fatty Lei.
“So that means my luck is pretty good then.”
Wangcai nodded repeatedly. “Of course, my Master, your luck is naturally quite good,” Wangcai said to Fatty Lei, widening his eyes. “You should know, the chance of our Intelligent Butler appearing is about one in ten billion. So, Master, you tell me, is your luck good or not?”
Hearing Wangcai’s words, Fatty Lei muttered to himself, “From what you say, my luck is practically heaven-defying. A one in ten billion chance, and I encountered it. I must be the luckiest guy.” Although Fatty Lei said this, he didn’t necessarily think so deep down.
“I was doing just fine in my original world, then suddenly got transported to this barren place,” Fatty Lei thought darkly. “This weird Planet has no living people besides me, and it’s full of danger everywhere.”
“Xenomorphs! Zerg! Who knows if there are other monsters!” Fatty Lei’s face was quite pale. “Although my luck is somewhat okay, since I picked up that Dimensional Trading Device… but this Trading Device is too shady. Who knows when I might fail to pay the Tax and get Eradicated by it.”
Compared to his life in the original world, all of this was too exhausting and stressful for Fatty Lei.
So Fatty Lei didn’t feel particularly lucky or happy.
Wangcai also saw that Fatty Lei didn’t mean what he said, so he dropped the topic for now.
“Master! I just demonstrated my strength. I think it’s enough to put you at ease, right?” Wangcai changed the subject.
“Based on the Combat Power you showed just now, I can fully believe you can protect me and that ‘Sweet Potato Tree’,” Fatty Lei said. “Give me the honest truth: how many of those Xenomorphs like just now can you handle?”
Wangcai calculated silently in his mind, then said to Fatty Lei, “My current level isn’t high, so dealing with fifty is my absolute limit. Within thirty I can win completely; between thirty and fifty, I’d have to pay a price.” He quickly figured out his combat limit and answered Fatty Lei’s question.
Fatty Lei was fairly satisfied with Wangcai’s answer.
Wangcai alone could actually handle that many Xenomorphs; it was something he truly hadn’t imagined.
However, Wangcai himself said he currently has a limit. That is, if it’s fifty Xenomorphs, he wouldn’t be able to hold out.
But Fatty Lei wasn’t too worried about that. Because during this time, the Xenomorphs or Bugs Fatty Lei encountered appeared in groups of a dozen or just over twenty; there were never groups above thirty.
The only time a large number appeared was when Fatty Lei was returning from hunting and encountered two Zerg Mother Queens fighting.
But from Wangcai’s words, Fatty Lei seemed to pick up on something else.
“Wangcai, from what you’re saying, a butler like you can level up?”
Fatty Lei looked at Wangcai with a flickering gaze, as if trying to see something in his eyes.
Unfortunately, Wangcai was a combination of Intelligent Life and machinery. So apart from streaks of green code flickering occasionally in Wangcai’s eyes, Fatty Lei couldn’t see anything else.
“Yes, Master, you heard correctly. Intelligent Life butlers like me can improve our strength with the Master’s permission,” Wangcai answered after giving Fatty Lei a respectful bow. “Of course, besides your permission, it also requires your generosity. Only then can I increase my power.”
After hearing this, Fatty Lei pondered and soon understood.
“You mean, after my level increases, I can buy items from other Dimensional Planes to enhance your strength?” Fatty Lei thought for a moment, then looked up at his butler and spoke.
Wangcai showed a fawning smile, bowing repeatedly to Fatty Lei. “You are absolutely right, that’s exactly it.”
“Can you even practice cultivation or godhood?” Fatty Lei was quite interested in Wangcai’s ability to improve strength. At the same time, Fatty Lei privately fantasized: “If I have enough Credit Points in the future, equipping Wangcai to become a super fighter would be a pretty good thing.”
Fatty Lei imagined that in the future, if anyone dared to mess with him, he could just unleash Wangcai. That would actually be a pretty good method.
After all, Wangcai was his subordinate; having him act as a fighter in the future wasn’t out of the question.
“Uh!”
“Master, I cannot practice cultivation or godhood. You must understand, I am a Sci-Fi Series butler; I absolutely cannot practice those things. The rules don’t allow it.” Wangcai’s words snapped Fatty Lei out of his fantasy.
“There’s such a thing?” Fatty Lei looked at Wangcai curiously. He really couldn’t understand that the rules between Dimensional Planes had such restrictions.
Wangcai nodded very seriously.
“It’s true. As a Sci-Fi Series Intelligent Butler, under the restrictions of the Dimensional Rule, I can only use Sci-Fi Series Dimensional Plane items to improve my strength. Items from Mythology Type or Fantasy Type Dimensional Planes have no effect on me at all,” Wangcai said pitifully to Fatty Lei. “Under the Dimensional restrictions and Trading Space suppression, I might even get messed up and die from those Dimensional Plane items.”
“You can only be improved using Sci-Fi Series items?” Fatty Lei slightly raised his head and thought. “No matter how much Sci-Fi Series stuff improves you, you won’t become too powerful…” After thinking very seriously, Fatty Lei said disappointedly.
In Fatty Lei’s view, he always believed Mythology Type items were the most powerful. Because those Immortals who could fly and move through earth, with their own power, could nearly destroy a Dimensional Plane.
Among the great powers, like the Western Sect leaders, or the Three Pure Ones and other great beings, destroying a world with a blink was a casual matter.
Whereas Sci-Fi Series things, apart from Warships and giant cannons, didn’t seem to have anything overly powerful. But even if Warships and giant cannons are powerful, you still can’t easily destroy a Dimensional Plane with them, right?
This seemed to Fatty Lei like something fundamentally impossible.
That’s why he said the above words.
Fatty Lei looked at Wangcai, thinking to himself: “If I really get the chance in the future, I might as well buy some Sci-Fi Series items for him to use. After all, he’s my lackey; I’ll need him to handle tasks and such later. If his strength improves, no matter what, it’s a good thing for me.”
So thinking this, Fatty Lei showed a smile and said to Wangcai, “If one day my level increases, and I can find good items, then I will definitely buy them to improve your strength. After all, you are my subordinate. Your improved strength is for better serving me, isn’t it?”
Anyway, Fatty Lei first painted a grand picture for Wangcai. Promises, after all, cost Fatty Lei nothing. It was just moving his lips, wasting at most a couple drops of spit.
Moreover, in Fatty Lei’s view, if his level increased, then earning Credit Points would also increase; he wouldn’t be as ‘poor’ as now.
By that time, he believed he would surely have some spare Credit Points.
Spending a few Credit Points to improve Wangcai wouldn’t be heartbreaking.
At worst, he could just buy cheaper, relatively cost-effective items for Wangcai then.
Fatty Lei’s mental calculations were clicking loudly.
“Since Wangcai can’t use items from those Dimensional Planes, I wonder if I can?” Fatty Lei suddenly thought: instead of improving Wangcai’s strength, why not think from another angle and improve his own strength?
“Strength is always better when it’s your own. If I possessed powerful strength myself, at the very least I wouldn’t have to fear those Xenomorphs and Bugs anymore.” Suddenly thinking of this problem, Fatty Lei felt somewhat excited inside.
“Maybe I really do have the protagonist template. Perhaps in the future, I can even build a huge harem…” Fatty Lei’s eyes gleamed, and a lecherous expression appeared on his face.
Who knows what things and scenes this guy was fantasizing about right now…
