Chapter 302: You Just Bully Me
Chapter 302: You Just Bully Me
“Hmm… where am I…?”
Ye Yuqing lay on the ground, groaning, her face blank as though she had no idea where she was.
She’d clearly regained control of her body.
Fang Cheng crouched down irritably, pinching her cheek and yanking it hard.
Ye Yuqing yelped, “Ow! Let go! Why’re you pinching me?”
Fang Cheng snapped, “You think you can fool me with *those* acting skills?”
She obviously knew everything—he even suspected she’d watched the whole incident. Now she was trying to play clueless.
A nice try, but her terrible acting gave her away instantly.
Ye Yuqing flushed and shut her mouth.
Fang Cheng hauled her to her feet. “We’re leaving.”
Tohsaka had been reduced to a sludge-like puddle by the Pure Demon Flames, revealing rotten, mangled corpses within.
The stench was worse than a century-old cesspit. Ye Yuqing clamped her hands over her nose and stuck close to Fang Cheng.
Even Fang Cheng had no desire to loot the corpse. He turned to leave, dragging Ye Yuqing along.
The boxing arena’s security guards, alerted by Tohsaka’s screams, charged toward them with weapons.
Fang Cheng unleashed beasts from the Blood Beast Nest to clear a path. Gunfire and shrieks erupted nearby.
Panicked viewers stampeded for the exits.
As Fang Cheng tried to leave, Ye Yuqing tugged his hand. “Wait!”
He turned. “What now?”
Avoiding his eyes, she mumbled, “My money…”
“What money?”
“The cash I won boxing! Hey—!”
Fang Cheng flicked her head. “You’re worried about *money* right now?!”
Rubbing her head, she pouted. Why *shouldn’t* she care? Every time before, the jerks controlling her had fled without claiming her winnings, letting the arena pocket it all.
This time, she’d get every penny back—with interest.
Fang Cheng reluctantly took her to the arena’s safe, retrieving her earnings.
They exited the bar past 4 a.m.
Fang Cheng summoned a massive Blood Eagle. It soared into the night, carrying them home.
“Wahahahaha!”
Ye Yuqing whooped like an overexcited husky, howling at the city below.
Mid-flight, Fang Cheng abruptly steered the Blood Eagle toward a random landing spot.
The landing site was by the Edogawa Riverbank. As Fang Cheng touched down, he realized this was the place where he’d first met Ye Yuqing. Back when Kanzaki Rin had gone for training, Fang Cheng had come out at night to hunt monsters and encountered Ye Yuqing strolling by the river.
“Wait… this place?”
Ye Yuqing clearly recognized it too – this riverside held vivid memories for her.
“You bastard! You swore you’d never hit women back then!”
She pointed at Fang Cheng mockingly.
Fang Cheng smiled. “You remember such small things?”
“Humph! I remember every bad thing you’ve ever done.”
Ye Yuqing’s face flushed recalling how this guy had taken her to a couple hotel during their first meeting. She’d thought she met a scumbag, only to be forced into doing squats, push-ups, and blowing up ten boxes of small umbrellas. Now even seeing those small umbrellas made her uncomfortable – a humiliation worse than any bastard’s betrayal.
When Ye Yuqing opened her mouth to continue complaining, she noticed Fang Cheng’s suddenly serious expression.
“Why… why that look?” she asked with nervousness.
“What’s really going on with you?” Fang Cheng demanded.
His impatient tone made her both anxious and upset. “What’re you talking about?”
“Still hiding things now?” Fang Cheng’s voice hardened, remembering Akihime’s worries. “What’s controlling your body? You know, yet stay silent!”
Ye Yuqing stiffened like a spring under his pressure. “I don’t know anything!”
“Ye Yuqing! Acting childish about this? Want punishment?” Fang Cheng’s temper flared. “Don’t you see how worried Akihime is? This body belongs to her too! If something happens-”
“Akihime! Always Akihime!” Ye Yuqing exploded, tears bursting forth. “You only comfort her! Only care about her! I’m just some free gift to you!”
Though she acted carefree, she’d always sensed Fang Cheng’s indifference – how he treated her like unwanted packaging. She’d kept making trouble, like children begging for attention. Now his harsh tone broke her last defenses.
Fang Cheng stared stunned as she turned to run, tears streaming down her face. She’d endured weeks of fear, unable to trouble Akihime. She’d wanted Fang Cheng’s sense of safety like during the cult incident, not this cold dismissal.
Before she’d run far, Fang Cheng caught her wrist.
“Let go! I’m just troublesome! You’d be happier if I died!” She struggled wildly until he pulled her into a firm hug.
“Apology.”
The word froze her movements. She’d never heard him say this before.
“I was wrong to care more about Akihime,” Fang Cheng whispered, voice gentle as moonlight. “Tell me your grievances. You’re both equally important. I came tonight to keep you safe – whatever danger comes, I’ll save you.”
Sobs shook Ye Yuqing as she hid her face in his chest. “I don’t know… that guy appeared suddenly… said I’m dying…”
