Chapter 116: Ruthless Takedown
Chapter 116: Ruthless Takedown
“You punk, you’re asking for death!”
“You refuse to admit defeat even at death’s door!”
“Kill him!”
“Kill!”
The members of the Flying Arrow Guild, long used to acting arrogantly under the protection of the Dragon Soar Guild, had always bullied others without facing trouble themselves. They couldn’t stand being provoked by Chen Mo’s comment. Not just Flying Leopard, but all the other Flying Arrow Guild members instantly roared with fury.
“Kill! All of you, get him!”
At Flying Leopard’s command, the entire Flying Arrow Guild angrily charged at Chen Mo.
Chen Mo gave a cold smile. With a wave of his hand, a violet crystal Big Fatty appeared.
“Roar!”
Big Fatty let out a roar—not its usual cry, but a skill: “Rage Howl,” increasing its own attack power by 30% for fifteen seconds!
Unknowingly, Big Fatty had improved greatly. Aware that it faced many opponents and that its Level was low, it immediately boosted itself first.
Then Big Fatty moved, crashing like a hill into the nearest Flying Arrow member!
—1980!
A huge violet Damage number appeared. Big Fatty had landed a Critical Strike!
If the Flying Arrow members hadn’t been Players around Level 15, this hit would’ve been far more terrifying!
Before the surrounding Flying Arrow members could react, many colorful orbs burst from Big Fatty’s body.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Numbers of five or six hundred Damage floated above the heads of nearby Flying Arrow members. Over ten Flying Arrow members, still some distance from Chen Mo, saw their Health Points drop to zero instantly!
Nearly half the Flying Arrow Guild was wiped out by the sudden appearance of Big Fatty in a flash!
But that was only the start!
The next moment, Big Fatty spun. A black Hurricane emerged in a fifteen-meter radius around it, swallowing four nearby members before they could flee. Only several ranged Players remained outside it.
“Run!” The Flying Arrow members finally reacted. Terrified by the massive Hurricane, they turned to flee.
“What kind of freak show is that?!” A young man called Old Luo, who hadn’t rushed forward first, fled the fastest. Panicked thoughts tumbled through his mind as he ran.
They’d thought the Hunter’s earlier words were boastful nonsense—thinking one person could kill all of them. But now it was clear: he was telling the truth. If they didn’t run, he wouldn’t even need to raise a finger; his Pet alone could wipe them out!
Eight surviving Flying Arrow members glanced fearfully at the black Hurricane behind them.
“Hurry! Look at that thing!”
The Hurricane wasn’t fast. They thought they could escape. But suddenly, a faint pair of giant pink wings manifested on the Hurricane!
The wings gave a gentle flap. The Hurricane’s speed surged instantly, sweeping toward the eight fleeing members.
They ran desperately, but couldn’t outpace it. Within seconds, all were engulfed.
Four hundred damage numbers floated above each member. Many were amplified by Heavy Blows or Critical Strikes. None survived long inside the black Hurricane, perishing one by one.
Holy crap!
Even Chen Mo couldn’t help gawking.
He knew Big Fatty—boosted by learning five skills plus the Flower Fairy mutation—was strong. But not this strong!
Those were over twenty Level 15 Players! Even if Chen Mo fought personally, it’d take effort to kill them all. Yet Big Fatty swept through like a storm, slaughtering every one in under twenty seconds.
“H-How? What’s going on?”
“Too strong!”
The Players grinding Levels nearby were utterly stunned.
They’d been certain Chen Mo was finished. But the Hunter hadn’t moved a muscle—not even attacking—and had obliterated the Flying Arrow Guild!
The fallen Flying Arrow members dropped many items. No treasures as good as the “Chilling Breath” Skill Book—that’d been a lucky fluke. But Chen Mo scooped it all into his bag before calmly heading toward the Sealing Magic Array.
He walked slowly, casually killing a few mobs along the way to pass time.
Nearing midnight, Players logging off or returning to town thickened, while the shadow-cloaked ice fields of the Frozen Wasteland grew sparse.
The Frozen Wasteland’s Sealing Magic Array was common knowledge: nestled inside a sunken basin, visible for miles.
With ten minutes till nightfall, Chen Mo reached the basin’s edge. Players within it had already vanished. Some had spotted Andergreen lounging there early and approached to test their luck. But Andergreen was in a foul temper; unlucky Players who approached met worse. Naturally, nobody else stayed to court ill fortune.
“Hmph! I thought you wouldn’t come!” Andergreen snorted.
“Got delayed on the way. Ran into a few thieves and dusted them off,” Chen Mo lied casually, needing the old man’s help.
“I’m ready to unleash the monster inside. Great Ice Mage Andergreen, could you first weaken the frozen power here?”
Chen Mo skipped small talk as time dwindled, heading straight to the matter.
“It’s already dispelled! Get moving!” Andergreen snapped impatiently. Once his promise was fulfilled, he’d leave immediately to heal his Pet.
“Yes!”
Chen Mo approached the Sealing Magic Array. A System Notification popped up. He confirmed.
A huge black monster named “Poisonous Sludge Monster” appeared. Before Chen Mo uttered a word, icy blue mist enveloped the Poisonous Sludge Monster. The poor creature, unable to move after emerging, froze solid on the spot.
Hah! Worthy of being called a Great Ice Mage. Truly dangerous!
After a cold snort, Andergreen turned and vanished.
Ignoring the departing mage, Chen Mo quickly used the Blood of Curse in his bag. After over six hours, he’d managed to gather a hundred and thirty units. Not much, but enough against a frozen target.
He equipped his most malicious Title: Heinous Crime Title. Immediately, he started attacking.
“A million Health?”
Striking a few times, he estimated the Sludge Monster’s Health Points lay between eight hundred thousand and a million.
For a Level 16 monster, that was no small number. Clearly, his Blood of Curse didn’t drop much. Despite being an Area Elite, its Health Points remained alarmingly high.
But after brief thought, Chen Mo summoned Big Fatty to join the assault.
With this Health count… even without any Proc from the Power of Annihilation, six hours of concerted attack would kill the Creature.
With far too few Blood of Curse, his and Big Fatty’s strikes dealt only 80-90 Damage per hit—pathetically low. But Chen Mo’s mental math said even at that rate, adding both the damage over six hours and subtracting the Poisonous Sludge Monster’s Health regeneration, they’d still take it to zero Health.
But attacking for six hours wasn’t exactly fun. Plus, that much time came with risks: interruptions, sudden changes when its Health fell low enough.
Chen Mo refused to let things head that way. If possible, he wished the Power of Annihilation would Proc.
Yet after two hours of Chen Mo and Big Fatty hammering the Poisonous Sludge Monster, its Health had dropped 35%. Still, Power of Annihilation hadn’t Triggered once.
Chen Mo finally saw the pattern. Killing that Frenzied Treant and Ore Giant Chieftain earlier? Luck played a role. The biggest reason? Against Chen Mo, those Area Elites possessed little defense.
For the Frenzied Treant, Cait’s Potion had dramatically reduced its Attributes, especially Defense. For the Ore Giant Chieftain, Chen Mo used a Rock Corrosion Potion, rendering it utterly vulnerable to his strikes.
Here though, the Poisonous Sludge Monster could be beaten without retaliation. But its formidable Defense Power thwarted the Power of Annihilation from Procing.
Patiently, Chen Mo and Big Fatty continued their work. The Poisonous Sludge Monster’s Health dwindled, point by point.
Each time it dropped noticeably, Chen Mo worried it might break free. But his fears proved baseless. Andergreen’s ice lived up to the Great Ice Mage Title.
At five in the morning, Poisonous Sludge Monster died still frozen solid, slain by Chen Mo and Big Fatty without budging an inch.
