Chapter 31: Loli Warrior
Chapter 31: Loli Warrior
Chen Mo logged out and had a good sleep after reaching level 4 and leaving Goblin Valley when it was already late.
It was afternoon when Chen Mo woke up.
After eating and drinking, Chen Mo first went to the Game Forum to check the response to his post from yesterday.
“Scammer!”
“Wasted my time!”
“Don’t be fooled, everyone, it’s fake!”
Chen Mo entered the post and immediately felt amused. Sure enough, quite a few people had been tricked and went to Slime Plains to dig for treasure.
However, after looking a bit longer, Chen Mo noticed something strange.
Many people called him a scammer, but surprisingly, some also defended him.
Looking carefully, Chen Mo broke out in a sweat.
In the Starter Village, there really was a treasure buried outside Earl Town!
During character creation, players who completed a questionnaire had a chance to receive a quest from an old gravekeeper in the wild to clear weeds from a grave. After completing it, they could obtain a “Bandit Gang’s Treasure Map.”
It was said that a severely wounded leader of a bandit gang once ended up outside Earl Town. At that time, the old man was just a child. Though he did his best to help the bandit leader out of kindness, the leader ultimately died from his injuries. Before dying, the bandit leader buried the gang’s treasure outside Earl Town and left the treasure map showing the burial spot to the old gravekeeper.
However, the treasure map was mostly blurred due to being stained by the bandit leader’s blood. The old man searched for many years but never found where the bandit gang’s treasure was hidden.
In the end, the old man gave up and offered the treasure map as a reward to every Adventurer who came to help him.
But after so many years, the already unclear treasure map made it impossible to tell the exact location. Players who obtained the map could only sigh in disappointment.
Very few players had obtained the treasure map, but Chen Mo’s post gave them hope. Many rushed to Slime Plains and tried digging in spots they found suspicious, hoping to unearth the treasure.
Chen Mo was speechless. He never expected that his random post would accidentally lead to this.
But his treasure story was entirely made up. When no treasure was found, these players would soon give up. With this quest existing, he felt more justified in digging pits later.
Returning to the Game, Chen Mo prepared to level up. Back at the storage, he was surprised to find that the quest item Coldstone Water he had obtained earlier was gone.
Thinking about it, Chen Mo realized that after he died and respawned, Grisen’s quest had reset as well.
That was fine—it meant he could learn the Gathering and Camouflage Skill from Grisen again.
With his previous experience, Chen Mo leveled up much faster this time. Before 10 p.m., he had already reached level 10.
After reaching level 10, Chen Mo equipped the gear dropped by the Mutant Slime King.
He put on the Tough Leather Armor, the Slime King Bracelet, and three good Blue Equipment pieces for defense.
Weapons and accessories were indeed the hardest to drop. Among over ten Blue Equipment pieces, there was no weapon Chen Mo could use, nor any accessory.
Still, Chen Mo now wore two Green Equipment pieces, one Purple Equipment piece, and three Blue Equipment pieces. His Attributes soared, making it hard to find anyone in the Starter Village with better gear!
This was the benefit of soloing a boss. If a team killed the Mutant Slime King, the loot would be split, and each person would get very little.
With this full set of equipment, even without the Fallen One title equipped, Chen Mo’s Strength was 96 points. With the Fallen One title equipped, his Strength reached as high as 106 points!
His Constitution Attribute, with the Fallen One title, was 61 points, giving him 1220 Health Points. Even if the Mutant Slime King hit him directly once, he wouldn’t die!
What Chen Mo lacked now was a weapon. But good weapons were very rare and much more expensive than shoes. Chen Mo spent five thousand on the green Shoes of Swift Wind; a Green Quality weapon would cost at least ten thousand.
And even ten thousand might not be enough to buy one.
As for weaker weapons, Chen Mo felt that with his current Attributes, having one or not hardly made a difference.
Before, with his pitifully weak gear, he managed to kill the Mutant Slime King. Now that his Attributes had greatly increased, there was no reason he couldn’t do it again. Without a good weapon, it might just take a bit longer. But with his current stats, killing the Mutant Slime King again would definitely be much faster than yesterday!
After completing the Beggar’s Wolf Meat quest and the Slime Venom quest, Chen Mo returned to Wild Wolf Valley to kill wolves, gather wolf meat, and wait for nightfall.
During the day, with full visibility for Players, it was nearly impossible for him to lure the Mutant Slime King away without being seen.
Close to midnight, Chen Mo brought a few shovels and ropes to Slime Plains.
“Bro, many people on the Forum say it’s a scam. Are you still digging?”
Chen Mo continued to hire people to dig. One of the three male Players couldn’t help but advise him.
“Just help me dig. Don’t worry about the rest. Will you dig or not?” Chen Mo acted like a rich second-generation heir with money to burn.
“We’ll dig!” They weren’t fools—why turn down money? Seeing Chen Mo’s attitude, they didn’t bother saying more.
Chen Mo led the three toward the destination.
As they approached the target coordinates, from a distance nothing seemed off. But as they got closer, Chen Mo and the three men were stunned.
A small, dark head suddenly popped out from the ground, followed by a cute, dust-covered face of a loli.
A loli Warrior had dug a pit nearly two meters deep here ahead of time.
“Oh, you’re here to dig for treasure too? I don’t think you should dig here. There’s probably no treasure. I’ve dug this deep and still haven’t found anything.”
Seeing Chen Mo and the others each holding a shovel, the loli Warrior thought they were fellow treasure hunters and kindly advised them in a clear, sweet voice.
Damn, what a loli with a childlike face and a surprisingly curvy body!
The three guys Chen Mo hired curiously approached the pit and discovered the loli Warrior’s unexpectedly alluring figure.
All three were very attracted. One of them grinned and crouched down, saying, “Little sister, what’s your name? Do you want me to help you dig?”
Seriously? You’re hired by me, remember? Do you still want to get paid? Trying to pick up girls during work hours!
Chen Mo felt like stepping forward and kicking this guy into the pit.
“Me? I’m Little Warrior. My pit is almost done, so I don’t need your help.” The loli Warrior shook her head, refusing his offer.
“What level are you? Want me to take you leveling? I’m already level 10,” the guy persisted.
“No need. You have a shady look—definitely not a good person!” Little Warrior glanced at him and spoke bluntly.
“Let’s go. Follow me to dig somewhere else.”
Chen Mo called out sharply. The Player who tried to chat her up felt a bit embarrassed after her comment, and Chen Mo’s words gave him an excuse to step back. He quickly returned to Chen Mo’s side.
The other two, seeing him get rejected, realized this loli wasn’t easy to fool and gave up as well.
The first spot was taken by Little Warrior, but Chen Mo had expected this. Digging pits to kill the boss in the same place every time wasn’t safe; he had backup locations.
After walking for a few minutes with the three, Chen Mo stopped and had them start digging.
Half an hour later, a pit over three meters deep was finished. Chen Mo sent the three away and circled the area alone to make sure no other Players were around.
After confirming it was safe, Chen Mo went to the Slime King’s location. While no one was around, he used the Slime Venom.
The Slime King immediately mutated, roaring as it chased Chen Mo.
Familiar with the process, Chen Mo lured the Mutant Slime King toward the dug pit and easily pushed it in.
Knowing exactly how the Mutant Slime King would react, it posed no threat to Chen Mo. With his boosted Attributes, the Mutant Slime King’s Health Points dropped rapidly.
Last time, Chen Mo had to drink an extra bottle of Slime Venom mid-fight. But this time, with nearly ten minutes left before the Slime Venom effect wore off, the Mutant Slime King’s health was already almost gone.
“Almost there, only 20% health left!”
Chen Mo estimated that in a few more minutes, before the Slime Venom effect ended, the Mutant Slime King would be dead.
But then, a figure holding a shovel suddenly appeared in Chen Mo’s sight!
Oh no! Someone’s coming!
Chen Mo cursed his luck. This time, he was killing the Mutant Slime King much faster. Who would have thought that with so little health left, someone would show up? If this person posted about it on the Forum, it would be much harder for him to solo the Mutant Slime King again later!
