Chapter 142: Nina Is Fiercer Than A Tiger
Chapter 142: Nina Is Fiercer Than A Tiger
Nina arrived incredibly quickly. It wasn’t even noon yet, and she had already driven her little car over here. After she opened the car’s trunk, it was filled with nothing but weapons and bulletproof vests.
“Nina, are you alone?” Liu Heming asked as he moved closer to her.
“Of course not. I sent the others to positions nearby. If anything happens, they will provide long-range sniper support.” Nina shook her head.
“Let’s carry all this equipment inside. I’m a bit tired from the drive. Dexter, how about giving me a massage in the room later?”
As she spoke, Nina traced little circles on Liu Heming’s chest with her finger, making him shiver.
“Stop messing around. We don’t know what will happen tomorrow,” Liu Heming said. Relying on his “strong” willpower, he resisted the temptation Nina was offering. Then, grabbing the guns and bulletproof vests, he hurried into the house, moving much faster than usual.
“Nina, do you think those people have found out our whereabouts?” Sasha came over to Nina and asked with concern.
“Probably not. No one knows about your relationship with Dexter. But we should still be careful,” Nina said, shaking her head.
When she saw Liu Heming coming out of the house, Nina changed her expression again. Swaying her hips, she walked over to him. “You’re really amazing. You managed to sell those sweet potatoes for such a high price. I really admire you.”
“Could you please give me a break? We have serious business tomorrow,” Liu Heming said with a bitter smile.
The very thing he feared was happening. This Nina was becoming bolder and bolder. What would Sasha think? What would Alex think? What would the Bear Kids think?
“Then it’s settled. After we resolve this matter, you have to ‘repay’ me properly,” Nina said. She not only emphasized the word “repay,” but also blew him a flying kiss that landed on his lips.
Liu Heming was really troubled. He honestly didn’t know if asking Nina for help was like escaping a tiger’s den only to enter a wolf’s lair. He truly couldn’t figure out what this Nina was really up to.
After a simple lunch, Nina spent the afternoon working busily with Robin. Before, they had only set up surveillance devices around the house. This time, however, they even installed them outside the ranch. The room with the equipment now had many more screens, each displaying multiple small windows showing the situation outside, packed densely together.
During dinner, Nina insisted on sitting next to Liu Heming. She kept brushing his arm with hers and lightly kicking his feet under the table, making it impossible for him to eat in peace. He felt even more regretful. Rather than enduring such alluring torture, it might have been better to handle things himself. Nina’s teasing was unbearable.
“Mom Nina, look, the little kittens are so cute,” Alex said after dinner, having caught the little kittens and placed them on the sofa.
Nowadays, the little kittens only stayed still when they were sleeping. Whenever they were awake, they ran all over the house. Liu Heming estimated they had already explored every nook and cranny in the entire house they could squeeze into.
“Yes, they are really cute, just like Alex is cute,” Nina said, picking up the little one and holding her in her arms.
“And there’s Selin too, but Selin is injured right now and can’t play with me,” the little girl said, as if showing off a treasure.
“Dad said Selin will get better soon. When he does, I’ll take him to herd the geese together. Those geese love to swim, just like me.”
“Haha, your mom told me you’ve become a great swimmer. When we have time, Mom Nina will play in the water with you,” Nina said, planting several strong kisses on the little girl’s cheek.
This little one—no matter how much you liked her, it never felt like enough.
Liu Heming wisely escaped outside, taking Charming Girl and the Bear Kids for a walk around the ranch. He had no choice; he was genuinely afraid of Nina now, terrified she might make some more “blatant” moves.
Charming Girl was recovering quite well. She walked leisurely, and if not for the patch of fur missing over her leg wound, one wouldn’t be able to tell she had ever been injured.
Every evening, Liu Heming took Charming Girl for a walk as part of her rehabilitation. The daytime was too hot, and mornings were too busy, so after dinner was the perfect time for a stroll. As for the Bear Kids, they were somewhat reluctant, but he dragged them along anyway; they needed to lose some weight.
He was still somewhat worried about tomorrow’s events. His feelings were complicated; he couldn’t clearly say whether he regretted his decision or not.
If the buyer was a reputable person, this could instantly make his ranch famous. Then, whenever he had new products in the future, he could maintain high prices and save on advertising costs.
There was already a lot of discussion online about these sweet potatoes. His email inbox had also received several interview requests, but he didn’t dare accept any yet. The situation was still uncertain; he would wait a while longer.
Moreover, he also felt like he might have overreacted. He didn’t know how he ended up making this decision so confusedly.
Noticing that his walking pace had slowed, Charming Girl started nibbling on the pasture grass Liu Heming had randomly planted. It must have tasted quite good, because Charming Girl ate it with relish. The Bear Kids also lay down nearby, occasionally munching on a few blades of grass as a little snack.
Liu Heming stayed outside until it got dark before finally heading back with Charming Girl and the Bear Kids.
His intention was to avoid Nina’s harassment. Since it was already dark and they had matters to attend to tomorrow, surely she would go to sleep early, right?
But when he returned to the house, he was stunned. Nina and Sasha were there; Robin had already gone to rest. That in itself was fine, but the problem was that Nina’s pajamas were far too skimpy. The nights weren’t even that hot right now, so why wear so little? She might feel cool, but others were getting hot.
“Dexter, I’m sleeping with Sasha tonight. Do you want to join us too?” Seeing Liu Heming come in and his eyes wandering, Nina twirled a strand of her hair around her finger and asked.
“Hehe, heh, you sleep, have a good sleep. Well, we have things to do tomorrow, so I’ll go rest first,” Liu Heming said, very awkwardly.
His eyes were hot, and his heart was hot too. He really wanted to boldly agree, but he knew Nina was just teasing him. After saying that, he took two or three quick steps and rushed upstairs, diving straight into the bathroom.
He turned the faucet on full blast; he needed to thoroughly douse the fire within himself. But even though he set the water temperature very low, Nina’s image kept running around in his mind. It was utterly tormenting.
After his shower, lying in bed, he tried hard to drive Nina’s image out of his head. But things didn’t go as he wished; the more he tried to chase her away, the more lively she became in his thoughts.
People often say harsh governance is fiercer than a tiger. Nina was no less formidable; in fact, she was even “fiercer” than a tiger, ten thousand times over.
