Chapter 136: Veterinarian Liu’s First Treatment
Chapter 136: Veterinarian Liu’s First Treatment
Xiangshui Town became peaceful again, and the restaurant’s business finally reached stable earnings.
Even Lewis felt a bit jealous. The daily sales of Rougamo were always over two hundred, steadily increasing. Dumplings were a bit worse, only about forty bowls per day. Lewis himself earned over 120 dollars a day just from his share. One could imagine how much money Liu Heming made each day.
Liu Heming went from being pleasantly surprised by these sales figures at first to now feeling calm.
This also reflected one issue: for fast food, dietary habits really needed to be considered. Even if the Rougamo didn’t have the Master Stock provided by the System, its sales would still be much higher than Dumplings.
Were Dumplings delicious? Yes, they were. But it was fine to eat them occasionally; eating them often was not good. Not to mention people in the United States, even he himself could only eat them once every few days.
Although Amelia and her team hadn’t worked for a full month yet—only about twenty days—Liu Heming still paid them a full month’s salary.
Amelia received 3,500 dollars, and each of her two assistants got 2,900 dollars. This was not a small amount, especially since Rougamo sales were high now, so they weren’t usually too tired, just worked long hours.
Amelia truly deserved the salary Liu Heming gave her. She managed the restaurant affairs very clearly, and Liu Heming didn’t need to worry at all. Now that less meat filling was used, they could handle it themselves.
Now Liu Heming gradually started to feel like a proper Ranch Owner, even though his Ranch didn’t really produce much yet.
It had to be said, the System’s products were truly amazing. Those Alfalfa Grass seeds he casually scattered had now grown over ten centimeters tall. He had never grown them before and had no idea if this growth speed was normal, so he didn’t dare say anything.
Then there were those Carrot seeds soaked in Small Lake Water. Maybe he accidentally guessed the right method, because now the little sprouts were growing very well too. These would become snacks for Charming Girl in the future.
“Jenny, what brings you here?” He had just thought about sitting properly under the porch to rest when he saw Jenny’s car stop in the yard.
“Dexter, there is an Owl in my car. Its wing is injured. You have medicine for injuries, right?” Jenny asked Liu Heming anxiously.
“Simple, leave it to me.” Liu Heming suddenly felt energized. This was great—finally a chance for him to show his skills.
“Wow, is this an Owl? Why is it so big?” When he saw the super large Owl in the car, he couldn’t help but curse.
It couldn’t be helped; this Owl was way different from the ones in his mind.
It was over one meter long and looked very strong. Plus, with its curved beak and sharp claws, his first impression was that this Owl was very fierce. If not for its very distinctive head, he wouldn’t have recognized it as an Owl.
Right now, this Owl was struggling restlessly in the car. Blood was seeping through the Bandage Jenny had temporarily tied on.
“I was off duty today and saw two Peregrine Falcons attacking this Owl. Even for its large size, it’s rare among Eagle Owls.” Jenny wiped the sweat from her forehead.
“I don’t have anesthesia in my car. Be careful when you treat it later. I don’t know how badly its wing is injured. I was afraid it would lose too much blood and not make it to the Rescue Station.”
“OK, don’t worry, leave it to me.” Liu Heming nodded.
After saying that, he ran back into the house to get his Magical Potion and Black Jade Fracture-Healing Ointment. Of course, little Alex followed him out.
“Wow, is it the Little Kittens’ Mom? Why does it have wings? And there’s little fur on its head, like ears.” The little one, held by Liu Heming to see the Owl’s condition, said happily. But after saying that, her mouth pouted; she saw the blood under the Bandage.
“Don’t worry, Dad will cure it.” Liu Heming patted his daughter’s hand.
“Mm, thank you, Dad.” The little one kissed his cheek, then leaned out and stroked the Owl’s head.
The little one moved too fast; Liu Heming didn’t react in time. But strangely, the Owl, which had been struggling just moments before, became very calm after the little one touched it.
Liu Heming smiled wryly inside; probably that unorthodox System was secretly taking care of his daughter again. He didn’t believe the Owl liked her just because the little one was cute.
But this made things easier. He directly put his daughter into the car. Then Alex, with a serious little face, squatted beside the Owl, her small hand continuously stroking its body.
Liu Heming cut open the Bandage with scissors. He didn’t know how this Owl had provoked the Peregrine Falcons, but it got beaten up badly. There were several places where its feathers were torn off, and the skin was broken.
But those were minor injuries. The most serious was its left wing. Liu Heming only needed to touch it to feel three broken places. It must have hurt when he touched it, but the Owl didn’t attack; it just hooted a few times.
“Jenny, pass me the scalpel. I need to set its broken bones,” Liu Heming said to Jenny.
“Be careful.” Jenny found the scalpel in the toolbox, handed it to him, and said.
Taking the scalpel, Liu Heming braced himself and cut open the area of the wing fracture. After cutting it open, he dripped some of his Magical Potion on it.
Jenny, watching from the side, gaped.
Blood had been flowing a lot just now, but after he dripped that liquid on, it started to slow down. By the time Liu Heming set the broken bones, it actually stopped bleeding.
Because there was no anesthesia, he was afraid the Owl would struggle during bone-setting and bleed too much. He didn’t expect Liu Heming’s unknown Medicinal Liquid to stop the bleeding just like that.
Liu Heming paid no attention to her. He used a table knife to scoop out some Black Jade Fracture-Healing Ointment and carefully applied it to the wound. Then he wrapped a layer of Bandage and fixed the broken wing with a splint.
He also dripped some more Medicinal Liquid on the Owl’s other wounds, partly to stop bleeding and partly to disinfect—who knew if the Peregrine Falcons’ claws and beaks had bacteria or something.
“Jenny, let’s keep this Owl at our place. If you take it away again, you might loosen its wounds,” Liu Heming said to Jenny after the operation.
He had a selfish motive: his daughter really liked this large Owl, so why not keep it for a few days to play with.
“Uh… OK, what?” Jenny, still in shock, didn’t really hear what Liu Heming said.
Liu Heming had to repeat it. Jenny thought for a moment and nodded. After witnessing such a miraculous scene, she also thought it was better to leave the Owl here.
