Chapter 115: Learning to Swim in a Dream
Chapter 115: Learning to Swim in a Dream
When he woke up in the morning and just opened his eyes, he saw his daughter playing on his bed with the Bear Kids. He was a bit worried whether his bed could handle their weight as the Bear Kids kept growing.
People often said that a girl would change a lot as she grew up, but with these two Bear Kids, they looked different every day. You didn’t notice how much they changed, but if you looked closely, they always surprised you. Especially the white fur on the crescent mark on their chests, it shone brightly.
“Little troublemaker, you woke Dad up. Just wait and see how Dad deals with you.” Liu Heming pulled his daughter into his arms and tickled her.
“Dad, you’re a big meanie! Mom, help! Save Alex!” The little one wriggled around while calling for her protector.
However, her struggles were in vain. Even her two little followers, the Bear Cubs, had to behave in front of the Great Demon King Liu Heming. She could only let her big meanie dad tease her.
“Tell Dad, why did you wake up so early today? You usually love sleeping in.” Liu Heming looked at his daughter and asked.
“Dad, I’ll tell you a secret. I had a dream last night and then I woke up.” The little one said with a very serious expression.
“Did you have a scary dream?” Liu Heming asked with concern.
“It wasn’t scary. I dreamed I was playing in the water with the Little Bears.” Alex shook her head.
Liu Heming sighed inwardly. It seemed that the incident when the Giant Black Fish dragged the little one into the lake had left a shadow in her heart. Maybe she couldn’t quite tell what fear was yet.
After washing up with the little one, father and daughter started their work outside.
The smell of pig, chicken, duck, and goose droppings was unpleasant, but the little one didn’t mind at all. Wearing her little boots, she followed Liu Heming inside.
However, her main job was just playing with the chickens, ducks, and geese around her. They were well-behaved, and after a while, Liu Heming stopped paying close attention.
The little one liked the geese the most, especially their long necks. Every time she went into the goose pen, she didn’t want to leave.
Strangely, even though the geese were quite familiar with Liu Heming, if he tried to play with their necks, they would get annoyed and sometimes even peck him. But the little one had no problem; she could play with their necks in all sorts of ways, and the geese just put up with it.
These geese were still a bit small now, otherwise, he guessed his daughter would probably try to ride on their backs and be a goose rider. He thought that every time his daughter came here, her little eyes always glanced at their backs.
When they reached the Pig Pen, Liu Heming didn’t dare let his daughter go inside. Pigs produced a lot of waste, and if you forgot to clean up for one day, the next day there would be no place to step.
After cleaning up the droppings and hosing down the area, he wanted to ask the Little Bears to help push the cart away, but he found that his daughter and the Bear Cubs were not around.
He looked around and didn’t see his daughter, but the two Bear Cubs were by the Small Lake, doing something.
He was still a bit worried, afraid that his daughter might accidentally fall into the Lake. After all, she had dreamed about playing in the lake with the Bear Cubs yesterday, and her judgment was still not very good. He left what he was doing and hurried over to the two Bear Cubs.
Before he even got close, his heart sank. He feared the worst, and it happened—his daughter’s small body was bobbing up and down in the Lake. When he reached the edge, without thinking, he jumped into the Lake and swam toward his daughter’s little body.
“Dad, let’s play together.” Just as he reached her, he heard her clear, cheerful voice, which made Liu Heming choke a little.
He had been too worried earlier and didn’t notice the details. Now he saw clearly that she was bobbing up and down in the Lake on purpose, playing. Occasionally, a big fish swam by under her feet, and she would kick at it with her little white feet.
“Alex, when did you learn how to swim?” Liu Heming asked curiously after calming down.
“I don’t know. I just learned it in my dream. Dad, let’s play together. It’s so fun. The Little Bears are too scared to play.” The little one splashed water happily as she spoke.
Liu Heming was still a bit confused. Learning to swim in a dream was unbelievable. It was true that the little one had been kicking around in her sleep last night and even kicked him once, but no matter how amazing it was, she couldn’t just dream about swimming and actually know how to do it.
Back when he was learning to swim in the river, he had choked many times and swallowed lots of muddy water before he managed to learn a clumsy doggy paddle.
Alex didn’t care what he was thinking. She just felt that playing in the water was very fun, much more fun than playing in the bathtub during bath time. Then she took a little dive and went under the Lake, grabbing onto the fin of a big fish and playing around underwater.
Liu Heming was startled again. The little one stayed underwater for over a minute before surfacing to take a breath.
If he pushed himself, he could manage that too, like when he fought the Giant Black Fish last time, but afterward, he had to gasp for air for a long time.
But look at the little one now. Her breathing was even, and her face looked completely normal. She just used her little feet to tread water and casually wandered around near him.
“Dad, play with me.” After saying this, the little one lightly jumped out of the water and onto Liu Heming’s back.
Liu Heming, who was still lost in thought, felt his body sink, and then he was pushed underwater by his daughter, with only his head sticking out.
“You little troublemaker, Dad is not as good as you in the water.” Liu Heming said helplessly after pulling her off his back.
The little one wasn’t very heavy, but they were in the water, and she had jumped onto him, so it felt like he was carrying two or three hundred pounds.
The Bear Cubs by the lake looked a bit anxious. They wanted to play in the Lake too, but they really couldn’t. The Lake was too deep for them; they could only stay near the edge and soak their bear paws.
Liu Heming didn’t dare let his daughter play too long. The Lake water in the morning was still a bit cold, and he was afraid she might get sick. As for her learning to swim just from a dream, that wasn’t a big deal. It didn’t harm her in any way, so there was no need to worry. When the weather got hot, it would be perfect to let his daughter come to the Small Lake to cool off.
