Chapter 119: Wiretapping?

That evening, inside a room at the Blue Sea Resort, two people placed their large backpacks on the table.

“Coming here, bringing stuff in is really troublesome,” Yeh Tian said, looking at the equipment on the table with a cold smile.

Mei Huizi ignored Yeh Tian and checked the gear in her backpack herself.

Only after making sure everything was fine did she zip the backpack up.

“Hurry up and change clothes to go back. It’s not time for chit-chat now,” Mei Huizi said as she picked up the backpack and took it to her own room.

Yeh Tian watched Mei Huizi’s back, licked his lips, then grabbed his backpack and headed to his room too.

Five minutes later, Mei Huizi came out of her room, now dressed in jeans and a casual T-shirt, carrying a small backpack. She looked just like a girl next door traveling alone.

By then, Yeh Tian had already changed into a shirt and long pants. When he saw Mei Huizi’s outfit, a strange glint flashed in his eyes, but it vanished in an instant.

“Let’s go.”

Mei Huizi said lightly and walked out of the room.

Across the street from the Legion Ant Company, the two of them looked at the company building from a distance.

“Legion Ant Company’s security is trickier than expected,” Yeh Tian said.

“Not just that. Their database is on the top floor, right next to the Chairman’s Laboratory. According to the data, their Chairman’s Laboratory has a protection level of IP66, equipped with smart alarms, area intrusion detection, obstruction alerts, and network disconnection alerts.

The entrance has Facial Recognition, fingerprint scans, and passcodes. Getting the Smart Assistant software will be very difficult. I’m afraid this mission isn’t so simple.”

“If you ask me, we should just kidnap and threaten,” Yeh Tian said.

“Barbaric thinking. Please remember, this isn’t our country. It’s different here from anywhere else in the world. If you kidnap someone here, especially the chairman of a big company, you’d be lucky to get away with it.”

Mei Huizi kept glancing at the Legion Ant office building, pretending to be casual.

“A while ago, two mercenaries from Academi Company came in and never left. This isn’t a place where just anyone can act recklessly.”

“Hmph, not just anyone can easily break through these layers of protection systems,” Yeh Tian said. “Personally, I think kidnapping is the simplest, crudest, and most effective method.”

“It’s possible, but only as a last resort,” Mei Huizi said coldly. “Let’s stop here for today. We’ll go back and think of a way to get close to the Chairman of Legion Ant Company.”

The next day.

Chen Mo sat in the car, quietly watching the scenery outside. Suddenly, he thought of something and turned to Wang Hai. “Wang Hai, do you have any retired comrades who are out like you?”

“Why do you ask, Chairman?” Wang Hai replied.

“Just thinking of finding someone to look after my family,” Chen Mo said.

The recent mercenary incident was a big wake-up call.

His identity was now public. With his family not around, he felt uneasy and thought it necessary to find someone to protect them.

“I can help you get in touch…” Wang Hai said.

“Sir, sir.” While they were talking, a woman with heavy makeup and revealing clothes suddenly ran out and stopped in front of them.

“Sir, I need to go to Yinghao Building. I’m about to be late for work. Can I get a ride?” Mei Huizi said with a smile, her eyes subtly glancing toward Chen Mo and Xiaoyu in the back seat.

“Sorry.”

Wang Hai gave Mei Huizi a deep look, rolled up the window, started the car, and drove off without a word.

“Hey, hey… What’s wrong with you? If you won’t give me a ride, fine, but no need to be like that! It’s not like I owe you money!” Mei Huizi stared at the departing car, stomping her feet in anger.

Only after the car was far away did Mei Huizi take a phone out of her purse. “Yeh Tian, the wiretap and tracker are on the car. Check it now.”

“Okay, Miss Mei Huizi. I didn’t know your Chinese was so good.”

Back at the resort, Yeh Tian turned on his computer, put on his headphones, and smiled slyly. But soon, he frowned. Apart from the car’s noise, he couldn’t hear anything else.

“Mei Huizi, where did you put the bug? Why is there no sound?”

“Under the car. That bug can pick up sounds within three meters. There should be sound unless they aren’t talking.”

Mei Huizi glanced in the direction Chen Mo had left, then turned and walked away.

Wang Hai stayed silent the whole ride. Chen Mo also kept his eyes outside. Xiaoyu, seeing neither of them speaking, stayed quiet too.

After arriving at the company, Chen Mo went straight into his Laboratory alone.

The materials he needed had all arrived. Another long stretch in the lab awaited him.

But as soon as he changed clothes, Ink Girl’s voice spoke up.

“Brother Mo, Wang Hai is outside the Laboratory.”

“Wang Hai?” Chen Mo’s expression sharpened. Normally, Wang Hai wouldn’t come up to bother him unless it was important. Maybe there was news about the people he’d asked him to contact.

“Let him in.”

Soon, Wang Hai entered his office area, looked around to make sure no one else was there, and then said, “Chairman, I found a miniature wiretap and tracker under the car.”

“A wiretap?” Chen Mo straightened up. “When did that happen?”

“That woman earlier,” Wang Hai said. “I had a bad feeling about it, so I kept an eye out. To avoid alerting them, I haven’t destroyed the wiretap or tracker yet.”

Chen Mo suddenly remembered the woman who had stopped them.

“Trouble’s here again,” Chen Mo thought, his heart sinking. Someone was targeting him again. “Let’s switch cars for today. Don’t remove them yet.”

“Okay.”

“Do you know who they are?” Chen Mo asked.

“Not sure,” Wang Hai shook his head. “I don’t have the tech to track the signal.”

“Alright, you can go. Bring the bug to me—I’ll track it,” Chen Mo said.

“Okay.”

After Wang Hai left, Chen Mo sat back down.

With trouble coming again, he lost interest in experimenting. This matter was serious. Last time, he was lucky—the two mercenaries were spotted by Ink Girl. If something like that happened again, he wasn’t sure he’d be so lucky.

“Ink Girl.”

“Brother Mo.” As soon as Chen Mo spoke, a simulation popped up on the screen, showing a little girl.

“About the wiretap and tracker just now—can you track where the signal is being received?” Chen Mo asked.

“Wait till Wang Hai brings the bug, then track their location.”

“No need to bring it up. I can locate any signal transmitted from this area. It’s easy to filter out,” Ink Girl said, sounding a little proud.

“Still, we should go through the motions.”

Five minutes later, Wang Hai came back with a bug the size of a fingernail, gently placed it on the table, thought for a moment, and then left.

After Wang Hai was gone, words appeared on the screen: “Blue Sea Resort.”

“Blue Sea Resort?”

Chen Mo pondered for a while, then picked up the bug and handed it to Wang Hai. After returning to his office area, Chen Mo spoke again. “Check the guest records for Blue Sea Resort.”

“Understood, Brother Mo. Please wait a moment.”

Soon, a list of guest records appeared on his computer desktop.

Chen Mo scanned through the records, his brow furrowing. Many foreign tourists stayed at this resort, but the woman earlier had an Eastern face. Her makeup was too heavy to tell what she really looked like, which made things tricky.
