Chen Mo spent the whole afternoon focusing on his telecommunications textbooks. Even though he needed to get mobile phone blueprints from the Science and Technology Library, he still needed some basic knowledge first. Otherwise, he would be completely confused when looking at circuit designs later.
He studied every day. He didn’t know if his head would explode from all this reading. His current state was like a man who was already full, yet still forcing more food into his mouth.
If he hadn’t undergone Potential Exploitation earlier, improving his physical condition, he probably wouldn’t have been able to handle it.
Rubbing his aching temples, Chen Mo tidied up the books on the table and left the library with Xiaoyu.
On the campus path, Xiaoyu sat on the back of Chen Mo’s bicycle, a relaxed smile on her face. They were both working hard, and there was definitely pressure. Only during these free moments could they enjoy some rare relaxation.
“Xiaoyu, how is your studying going?”
“Not bad. But the Accountant exam is different from getting the qualification certificate. There’s still some pressure,” Xiaoyu said. “The exam is in a little while. I might be a bit busy these next few days, probably spending all my time studying.”
“It’s fine. I’ll keep you company.”
“I know you mean well. Aren’t you starting a business? You should focus on your own things. I’m not a child; you don’t need to accompany me every day.”
Xiaoyu sat sideways, leaning against Chen Mo’s back, a content smile on her face. “When I need your company, I’ll come find you. You can’t refuse me then.”
“I promise I won’t refuse. No matter how important other things are, my girlfriend is the most important. Let’s go eat. Hehe.”
After dinner, Chen Mo saw Xiaoyu back to her dorm and then headed off campus.
Now it was time to work on designing the phone. Many things couldn’t be handled by just one computer anymore. He needed a dedicated workspace to place instruments and tools.
He decided to rent a shop to use as a temporary Laboratory.
Because of the Science and Technology Library, he preferred working alone. It meant fewer trivial matters. Otherwise, if his secret was discovered and people looked at him strangely, it would be much more troublesome.
Not far from Binhai University, there was a long commercial street. Although it wasn’t in the city center of Binhai City, it was next to Binhai University. The commercial street became very lively every evening.
Many students liked to go to the milk tea shops on the commercial street, drink milk tea together, and chat. Or classmates and friends would gather here for meals.
After walking around for a while, Chen Mo finally found a shop for transfer in a quieter part of the commercial street.
It was a computer and phone repair shop. Chen Mo knew this shop. The repair costs here were higher than other places. Over time, fewer and fewer people came here for computer or phone repairs.
After contacting the Boss, Chen Mo went into a nearby milk tea shop to wait.
Soon, a man around thirty years old hurried over.
When he saw Chen Mo, Wang Jiyu’s face immediately broke into a smile. Business had been tough recently; he couldn’t even cover the rent, let alone make money to support his family.
He was getting older, and his family was putting pressure on him. If he didn’t quickly find a proper job, even finding a wife would be difficult.
This shop’s location on the commercial street wasn’t great, so not many people were willing to take it over. Now that someone finally showed interest, he rushed over eagerly.
“Hello, brother. My name is Wang Jiyu.” Wang Jiyu reached out and shook Chen Mo’s hand. “Let’s go inside and take a look at the shop.”
“Okay.”
As soon as the shop door opened, a strong smell of dust hit them. The shop’s instruments hadn’t been moved out; they were all still inside, but covered in a layer of dust.
“Mr. Chen, what line of work are you planning to go into? Do you want these machines?” Wang Jiyu said. “They’re a bit old, but they work. Absolutely no hidden problems. There are three computers here, and some other tools and instruments. If you need them, Sir, I can give them to you at the lowest price. I’m planning to change careers.”
“If it’s cheaper, I can take them.”
Chen Mo looked around and nodded slightly. Many things here were useful to him. With this foundation, he only needed to buy some precision instruments to turn it into a temporary experimental space.
“Easy to discuss, easy to discuss.”
Wang Jiyu’s face immediately showed a happy smile.
He had already decided to leave this business. These instruments would be useless at home, only fit to be sold as scrap. Now that Chen Mo was taking them, it was an unexpected gain for him.
Even though the price was a bit low, the loss wouldn’t be as great.
After agreeing on a price and signing the shop transfer agreement, Chen Mo cleaned the shop, throwing away all the useless things.
He worked until evening, then hurried back to his Rented Apartment and entered the Science and Technology Library.
He had already gotten used to the environment inside the Science and Technology Library. Seeing the hundred-meter-high bookshelves no longer amazed him as much as before.
He opened the dark red book in the center of the Library, and Elder Shu appeared again.
“Elder Shu.”
“You’re here.” Elder Shu looked at Chen Mo and nodded with satisfaction. “Coming in to choose a technology?”
“Yes.” Chen Mo nodded. “I want a mobile phone design, including the motherboard and the exterior.”
“Do you want me to help you choose?” Elder Shu said.
“There are so many phone designs here. If I have to look for myself, who knows how long it would take? What if I pick the wrong one? I’d regret it terribly.” Chen Mo said with a bitter smile.
“Alright, then I’ll list them out for you to choose.”
Elder Shu gently pointed a finger. A huge light screen descended from above in the Library, covering the entire large empty space in the middle.
Books appeared, layer upon layer. Chen Mo couldn’t even count how many books there were. Each book had a picture of a mobile phone as its cover.
Brick-shaped, watch-shaped, pendant-shaped, glasses-shaped, helmet-shaped, round, diamond-shaped… every imaginable shape was on the covers.
If he wasn’t sure this was phone technology, Chen Mo really wouldn’t believe these oddly shaped things were phones.
“There are many more that cannot be listed. Which kind do you want?” Elder Shu asked.
“Can you provide filtering options?” Chen Mo glanced at the books floating in the air. “A normal shape, like our ordinary phone shape. Something current technology can produce.”
As soon as he finished speaking, some books disappeared, and new books appeared to fill their places. There were still just as many. Chen Mo listed several more conditions, but the result was still a sky full of books; the number didn’t seem to decrease.
“Elder Shu, you’re not playing fair. This many? Can I pick a few to look at?”
Chen Mo looked at the countless books, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. This time, he truly felt how many books were in the Science and Technology Library. Just for mobile phones, there were so many, even after all that filtering.
“You have one free choice. You can take one book,” Elder Shu said.
“This is really hard to choose.” Chen Mo mumbled, looking up at the books in the sky. “Can you call some out? Just a portion is enough.”
“Sure.”
Elder Shu pointed again. Hundreds of books appeared neatly arranged in front of Chen Mo.
Chen Mo carefully read the descriptions of the phone functions on the book covers. Finally, his gaze settled on the cover of one particular book.
The phone on the cover had smooth lines and a clever design. It looked very appealing.

“Elder Shu, please bring out that Butterfly Eye one.” Chen Mo pointed at the book.
Elder Shu gently pointed his finger. That book instantly vanished, turning into a light screen that landed in Elder Shu’s hand. Seeing the exterior design up close, Chen Mo immediately liked this phone.
“This is the one,” Chen Mo said.
The appearance of this phone was very exquisite. He believed that if this phone was released, even just based on its looks alone, it would definitely get a good response.
“Good.”
Elder Shu nodded and pressed the book in his hand into Chen Mo’s head.
Motherboard circuit designs, various phone component parameters flashed through Chen Mo’s mind. Then, a wide grin spread across his face.
What surprised him even more was the phone’s port design.
This was a Waterproof Interface phone. Both the headphone jack and the charging port had this unique waterproof structure. The design was very clever. The person who designed these two ports was simply a genius.
Forget the phone itself; just applying for patents for the structures of these two waterproof ports would be enough to redefine mobile phone ports. This was an unexpected gain.
After leaving the Science and Technology Library, Chen Mo sat up on his bed and walked into the bathroom.
