Just as Ju Zi was about to charge, the Skeletal Warhorse standing beside Xu Feng suddenly tilted its head back with a long neigh, stood on its hind legs, and slammed its front hooves hard onto the ground.

Hearing Ye Yu’s yell, Ju Zi gritted his teeth, pulled out a Healing Potion, gulped it down, and lunged back towards Xu Feng. He could have used the chance to flee, but now he was forced to fight desperately.
Xu Feng charged towards the Elemental Mage Ye Yu, aiming to kill Ye Yu while his Absolute Defense was active.
Seeing Xu Feng charge at him, Ye Yu knew he wouldn’t get far before being overtaken. Abandoning any thought of escape, he instead gripped his staff tightly and began chanting loudly.

A path just over two meters wide, coated in jagged ice shards, materialized under Xu Feng’s feet.

Xu Feng strode onto the ice, his speed undiminished. A faint golden light separated the soles of his feet from the icy path.
“How is that possible?!” Ye Yu’s face paled, and he hastily scrambled back.
The Fireball Technique failing to affect Xu Feng earlier had made Ye Yu think Xu Feng possessed an item or skill granting immunity to magic damage. But such effects were notoriously short-lived. That’s why Ye Yu had chosen a longer cast time spell: Path of Ice. He never expected Xu Feng’s magic immunity to last so long, throwing him into a desperate disadvantage.
Xu Feng delivered a basic strike. Over a thousand damage points burst from Ye Yu. Panicked, Ye Yu knew he, as an Elemental Mage, only had a little over 3,000 Health Points. This one blow shaved off way more than a third, making him feel death’s cold breath acutely.
“Help me!” Ye Yu cried out as he frantically cast a faint blue Magic Shield over himself.
A flash of white light ignited beneath Ju Zi’s feet. His movement instantly became much quicker, leaving behind an afterimage as he streaked towards Xu Feng.
This was his other displacement and acceleration skill. If he kept charging at his original sluggish pace, by the time he reached Xu Feng, Ye Yu would already be dead.
HURRY!
In three seconds, Ju Zi had closed in, now less than six meters away from Xu Feng.
Xu Feng swung his sword down onto Ye Yu’s Magic Shield. The faint blue shield rippled violently, seeming on the verge of shattering at any moment. Inside it, Ye Yu was equally horrified, his face ashen white. He finally understood why the Captain feared this man so much.
Seizing this moment, Ye Yu chugged a potion and started waving his staff, initiating another spell with a long chant.

Ju Zi twisted his wrist, thrusting his dagger towards the back of Xu Feng’s neck. Simultaneously, the shortsword in his other hand stabbed towards Xu Feng’s ribs.

As if he had eyes on his back, Xu Feng twisted around, his wrist flicking rapidly. Clang! Clang! He parried both of Ju Zi’s attacks.
“Keep him busy! Once the Captain gets here, he’s finished!” Ye Yu yelled out as a vortex of searing heat coalesced in his hand.
FIERY ARROW!
Whoosh!
A brilliant arrow of crimson heat, over a meter long, blasted viciously towards Xu Feng.
Xiao Jian also arrived just then. Seeing Ye Yu and Ju Zi already locked in combat with Xu Feng, he wasted no time, throwing himself instantly into the fray.
FINE MISTY RAIN.
A curtain of misty rain formed between Xu Feng and the three opponents. Cool threads of it sank deep into the flesh. Xiao Jian and Ju Zi’s attack speeds noticeably slowed. Xu Feng became a blurry, indistinct figure in their vision, and every third attack now resulted in a ‘MISS’.
The four stood engaged, Ye Yu having already distanced himself from Xu Feng. Standing a clear ten meters away, he continuously unleashed spells.
Xu Feng, however, kept moving fluidly, using Ju Zi and Xiao Jian’s bodies as cover to dodge Ye Yu’s attacks. Simultaneously, his sword lashed out again and again, hacking at the two trapped in close combat with him.
People occasionally passed by in the wilderness. Most only glanced briefly at the trio from the Doomsday Ark Alliance besieging Xu Feng before hurrying on their way. Fights like this out in the wild, regardless of the reason, never ended up being opportunities for bystanders to profit. If you lingered to watch, the warring parties might just team up to eliminate a potential eavesdropper or scavenger.
Three adventurers clad in Leather Armor passed by. One, a girl who looked barely seventeen or eighteen, watched for a few moments and said softly:
“Captain, it’s people from the Doomsday Ark Alliance.”
“Hmph, that bunch of trash, picking on newbies again.”
“Captain, should we go help that guy?” another member asked.
“Butt out,” the slightly older one among them shook his head. “The Doomsday Ark Alliance folk might be trash, but they’re strong trash. Poking them will only bring us trouble!”
They cast one last glance at Xu Feng, shook their heads, and hurried away. This kind of spectacle wasn’t something Solo Players like them ought to get involved in.
