Chapter 139: The Third Floor

Passing through the Light Gate, the two arrived at a vast, boundless wilderness.

“Are we still on Earth?” Ding Xiang was a bit scared. She tugged at Xu Feng’s sleeve and moved closer to him.

This place was clearly not any scene from Earth; it was filled with the scent of death, and no living thing could last long here.

Xu Feng looked back at the Light Gate. The roar of Baron Sara faintly came from the Light Gate.

The lure effect had vanished. Clearly, the lure effect from the Undead Lure Scroll had failed, but the 3000 points of damage were real. Baron Sara’s Health Points had now dropped below 10,000.

For some unknown reason, Baron Sara seemed only able to move on the second floor; he could not, or did not dare, enter the Light Gate to come to this desolate wilderness.

“This place should be a sealed, broken dimension…” Xu Feng said as he looked around.

In the distance of the wilderness were groups of Skeleton Soldiers riding Skeletal Warhorses. They wore no armor or protective gear and only held a long blade in their right hands.

“Skeletal Knights!” Xu Feng said softly.

Skeletal Knights were simplified versions of Death Knights. Although not as good as Death Knights, they were not to be underestimated.

“Treasure Chest!” While Xu Feng was observing the Skeletal Knights, he suddenly spotted a glint of silver light in a clump of withered grass near a few Skeletal Knights up ahead. A Silver Treasure Chest lay quietly there.

However, there were several Skeletal Knights around the Silver Treasure Chest. Approaching would surely alert them.

Xu Feng cast the Insight Skill on the nearest Skeletal Knight.

“Name: Skeletal Knight, Three-Star Elite, Health Points: 5600/5600, Special Skill: Fatal Strike.”

Xu Feng wasn’t surprised by the Skeletal Knight’s strength as a Three-Star Elite. The only surprise was the Skeletal Knight’s Special Skill, Fatal Strike.

“I thought only Death Knights had such a skill. I didn’t expect the simplified version, the Skeletal Knight, to also have such a terrifying skill,” Xu Feng thought to himself.

“Ding Xiang, can you capture this monster?” Xu Feng shared the Skeletal Knight’s attributes with Ding Xiang and asked.

“I can, but I can only summon two Three-Star Elites right now. I already have Doggy and Big Treasure…” Ding Xiang’s face showed a reluctant expression.

Ding Xiang had spent a long time with these two Undead Creatures as pets and found it hard to give them up.

“See that silver chest up ahead? It can contain good items, but those monsters’ special effects are too powerful. I need a meat shield to take the hits…” Xu Feng said softly.

“Alright, big brother, I’ll help you,” Ding Xiang hesitated for a moment, then bit her lip and said.

She summoned the two Undead Creatures pets and looked at Xu Feng, waiting for the next instruction.

The distance between the Skeletal Knights was close. Once one was attacked, the others would all rush forward.

Xu Feng remembered Li Jin’s Mislead skill. Although Xu Feng didn’t have it, he could try to lure one using a similar method.

He took out the One Star Bronze crossbow and aimed at a stone directly in front of the nearest Skeletal Knight.

The Three-Headed Skeletal Hound and the Undead Giant, having just gone through a fierce battle, pounced on the Skeletal Knight together.

The Skeletal Hound, now with only one head left, aimed for the Skeletal Knight’s warhorse, lunging at its neck, while the Undead Giant used its tall, sturdy body to crash into the Skeletal Knight.

The Skeletal Knight was knocked two meters sideways by the Undead Giant. Its fully charged slash missed, striking a large rock instead. The rock shattered into pieces, splintering in all directions.

Xu Feng turned around and joined the Skeletal Hound and the Undead Giant in surrounding the Skeletal Knight.

Xu Feng dealt the highest damage, so the Skeletal Knight’s hatred was naturally focused on him. However, every time the Skeletal Knight prepared to attack, Xu Feng dodged behind the Undead Giant, using its body to evade. The attacks ended up landing on the Undead Giant and the Skeletal Hound.

With the help of the two Three-Star Elite Undead Creatures pets, the Skeletal Knight’s Health Points steadily dropped. After a few minutes, the Skeletal Knight fell to the ground. A Fate Treasure Chest appeared above the knight’s remains.

Ding Xiang walked over, first turning the Skeletal Knight’s remains into a black crystal the size of a fingernail, then said to Xu Feng, “From now on, the remains of Undead Creatures belong to me, and the dropped items all go to you, big brother.”

Xu Feng smiled and shook his head, then opened the Fate Treasure Chest.

Even with the Gathering Art, the remains of Undead Creatures would only yield one or two forging materials filled with undead energy at most—useless things to Xu Feng. But the items from the Fate Treasure Chest were far more valuable. According to Ding Xiang’s suggestion, Xu Feng would gain too much.
