Chapter 138: Undead Temptation Scroll
Chapter 138: Undead Temptation Scroll
Crack~
A red lightning bolt struck the left head of the Three-Headed Skeletal Hound, instantly shattering it. The Three-Star Elite Monster’s health immediately dropped by one-third.
After losing one head, the remaining two heads let out a shrill roar. Their gaze toward Baron Sara was filled with awe and fear.
“Flying Sword, slash!” Xu Feng waved his hand, and the Flying Sword glowing with Dark Gold light flew out, striking Baron Sara hard.
-38
There was a faint red mist surrounding Baron Sara’s body. When the Flying Sword struck it, there was a clear sense of resistance.
“Swift Wind Thrust!”
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh~ Boom!

Four two-digit damage numbers appeared in a row, making Xu Feng’s face turn pale.
With his Flying Sword mastered and his talent’s triple damage, a normal Three-Star monster would be wiped out with one set of skills. Even a Three-Star Elite, which he used to run from, was something he now felt confident fighting.
But why was this Three-Star Lord Rank monster so powerful? Xu Feng couldn’t help feeling a sense of defeat.
“Death covers the land, dark fog spreads, Undead Poison Mist, disperse!” A crisp voice rang out in the second-floor hall. Ding Xiang waved her sickle, and a gray mist mixed with black and green specks enveloped Baron Sara.
“Foolish insects.” Baron Sara sneered, completely unconcerned about the approaching poison mist.
-1-1-1…
A series of one-point damage numbers floated up. The damage didn’t even break his defense; it was just forced health reduction.
Xu Feng used Insight Skill on Baron Sara.
“Name: Sara, Three-Star Lord, Health: 12110/12550, Undead Vampire, Baron rank.”
Compared to the first time, his maximum health had increased by about four thousand, surpassing ten thousand. His race had changed from Advanced Bloodline to Undead Vampire. Nothing else had changed, but his strength had improved dramatically.
Xu Feng’s attacks now barely broke through the defense. Without his talent boost, he probably couldn’t even pierce the light red mist around the Baron’s body.
“Oops, my skills are all Undead Spells. They don’t work on him.” Ding Xiang was startled, suddenly realizing. She patted her head and stuck out her tongue.
“Do you have any more potions like the Sunfire Potion?” Xu Feng asked loudly.
“No, that was made by chance. The recipe could only be used three times, and only one bottle was made.” Ding Xiang said anxiously.
Xu Feng knew that many rare and precious recipes and blueprints had limited uses, and the success rate wasn’t high. Often, after finally obtaining a valuable blueprint or recipe, several attempts would fail, wasting hard-earned loot.
However, even if crafting failed with such blueprints or recipes, a large amount of proficiency was gained. Unlike ordinary blueprints, which gave no proficiency upon failure. Therefore, these limited-use blueprints and recipes were always in high demand at the Auction House.
Thinking of potions, Xu Feng suddenly remembered that when they killed the two Three-Star Elite Undead Guardians at the Ancient Castle gate, a Scroll had dropped.
“Item Name: Tempt Undead Scroll, Item Rank: Curio, Item Attribute: Can forcibly tempt one Undead Creature, forcing it to stop all actions for ten seconds. After ten seconds, there is a high chance the target will become your summoned creature. If the temptation fails, it deals three thousand points of true damage to the target. (The stronger the target, the higher the chance of failure.)”
Baron Sara was originally an Advanced Bloodline, so Xu Feng hadn’t thought to use the Scroll. But just now, his Insight Skill showed that Baron Sara was now an Undead Vampire, belonging to the Undead race, so the Scroll would work on him.
Xu Feng grabbed the Scroll while controlling his Flying Sword to keep slashing at Baron Sara. The previous battle had almost depleted his Sword Qi and energy reserves.
“Stay close to me!” Xu Feng said softly to Ding Xiang.
By now, the Three-Headed Skeletal Hound had only one head left, and the Undead Giant had killed most of the Blood Servants, charging toward Baron Sara.
However, for Baron Sara, eliminating two Three-Star Elite Monsters was only a matter of time.
Ding Xiang felt panicked. Her two Three-Star Elite Undead pets were her trump cards. If even they didn’t work…
Ding Xiang was now at Three-Star Peak strength, but facing Baron Sara, her Undead pets were no match. Her deadly Undead Spells had high resistance against an Undead Vampire, dealing less damage than her sickle.
Because her strength had increased, Ding Xiang could now summon one more Undead pet, but she could still only summon two Three-Star Elite Undead pets at most. Seeing Baron Sara’s power, she knew her pets wouldn’t last long.
“B-big brother…” Ding Xiang’s eyes showed despair.
“Don’t be afraid, just stay close to me. It’ll be fine.” Xu Feng glanced at Ding Xiang. Originally, she didn’t need to be involved in this mess, but because of him, she was in danger.
Seeing Ding Xiang’s vulnerable expression, Xu Feng’s heart softened. He couldn’t help turning back and reaching out to hold her hand.
“Don’t be scared. In a moment, rush forward with me!” Xu Feng whispered, staring at the passage to the third floor.
“Mhm!” Ding Xiang’s face flushed slightly, and she nodded firmly.
While Baron Sara was distracted by the two Three-Star Elite Monsters, Xu Feng pulled Ding Xiang forward.
When they were about three or four meters from Baron Sara, Xu Feng tore the Scroll and threw it at him.
A dazzling golden light enveloped Baron Sara.
“Doggy, Big Treasure, return!” Ding Xiang summoned her two Undead pets back to the pet dimension, following Xu Feng alone.
After the golden light enveloped Baron Sara, his eyes grew dazed. He stood still as if caught in an illusion, his bone wings fluttering unconsciously.
“Hurry!” Xu Feng pulled Ding Xiang toward the third-floor passage.
The Scroll could force any Undead Creature into a tempted state for ten seconds. After ten seconds, there was a chance the Undead would become his pet.
Turning a Three-Star Lord Rank monster into a pet was something Xu Feng only dared to imagine. He wouldn’t risk his life waiting to see if it worked.
Ten seconds was enough for them to rush to the third-floor passage.
At the end of the passage was a Light Gate, seemingly leading to another dimension.
“Roar, despicable insects!” Baron Sara’s roar echoed behind them.
Xu Feng gritted his teeth, pulling Ding Xiang as they closed their eyes and charged toward the Light Gate.
