Chapter 199: Arrangements
Chapter 199: Arrangements
“Captain!”
Everyone stopped practicing when they saw Lin Mu come down. They quickly lined up in order and shouted in unison.
“Mhm, it has been a while since I last came to check. How has your training been going?”
Lin Mu nodded and asked casually.
“Besides our daily cultivation, we also organized sparring matches on our own to gain more real combat experience.”
Long San immediately stepped forward to report, then returned to his position in the line.
“That is a very good method. However, when sparring with each other, you must use your true skills. Do not be afraid of getting injured. I can heal you, but there is no need to use your hidden killer moves, since you are not trying to take your teammates’ lives.”
Lin Mu quite agreed with their approach. “The main reason I came today is to divide everyone into five squads. This will help with future mission assignments. After spending this time together, does anyone have recommendations for squad leaders?”
As soon as he finished speaking, five people immediately stood out from the line. It was not that these five stepped forward, but the other twenty all took a step back, leaving these five clearly in front.
Lin Mu looked over the five who stepped out: Long San, Long Wu, Long Yi-Si, Long Yi-Jiu, and Long Er-San. Without a doubt, these five had the highest cultivation levels in the Dragon Eye squad. Each had steadily stepped into the True Qi Cultivation Realm.
Although their True Qi cultivation was not exceptionally profound yet, they were much stronger than the members who were still in the Agility Realm. After some time working together, it seemed the team members acknowledged these five’s strength and willingly let them become squad leaders.
“Very good. However, the current situation is still quite insufficient. My goal is for everyone present here to step into the True Qi Cultivation Realm within one year!”
Lin Mu gazed at everyone. “Recently, I encountered many experts. With your current cultivation levels, you can only handle simple tasks. If you run into those experts, forget about completing the mission; even keeping your lives might be a problem.”
“So, over the next year, I will personally guide your cultivation every week. Nothing tempers a person more than real combat. Therefore, I will be heavy-handed. Those with insufficient strength might end up with only one breath left.”
“Of course, I will not push you to death. But each time, I guarantee I will squeeze out all your potential, helping you advance in the shortest time possible. You need to be mentally prepared.”
Although Lin Mu spoke with a smile, everyone present couldn’t help but shiver involuntarily.
Even though this captain was very young—some present were even older than him—no one doubted just how strong he was. That long roar at the Dragon Guardians Corps base that day had already made them understand the gap between them.
“Long San, later I will give you a list of medicinal herbs. Contact the headquarters and have them deliver these herbs here as soon as possible. You will need them very soon. With these herbs, injuries will recover a bit faster.”
Lin Mu glanced at Long San, who immediately responded loudly.
“Also, I recently bought another villa behind and to the left of this one. Soon, a few people will move in. I need one squad assigned to protect their safety every day. The five squads will take turns.”
Lin Mu took the keys from his pocket, tossed them to Long San, and continued, “Replace that house’s keys with an iris recognition system. Install sensors all around the perimeter. This week, everyone prepare what needs to be prepared. Starting next week, you will begin hell training.”
After saying that with a slight smile, he turned and left the Underground Training Room. In the living room, he found paper and a pen, swiftly wrote down a list of herb names, then pressed the paper under the coffee table. Shortly after, he drove off in the Maybach.
“Alright, everyone, train hard. The captain is going to personally guide us. This is a very rare opportunity. Usually, it is hard to meet such an expert. In real combat, we would almost certainly die. But now we have a chance to be tempered; everyone should cherish it.”
Long San stepped forward a few paces, turned around, and said seriously.
“That’s right. I believe having such an expert as a sparring partner will bring immense pressure. As long as we can withstand it, our potential will be stimulated, and our cultivation will surely progress rapidly.”
Long Wu also nodded in agreement.
While the Dragon Eye members were actively training and preparing to face Lin Mu’s hellish sparring, Lin Mu had already driven back to Huacheng Mingyuan.
“Back so soon?”
The three women were sitting in the living room eating fruit. When they saw Lin Mu enter, Song Yuru turned her head and smiled.
“Yeah, took care of a small matter. Didn’t take much time.”
Lin Mu smiled, took the apple Song Yuru handed him, sat on the sofa, and said while eating, “Tomorrow, let’s move to another place. I bought a house elsewhere, so we don’t have to rent anymore.”
“You bought a house? Why?”
Ye Zixi, biting into her apple, asked curiously.
“It’s all because of you, dummy. It’s not safe to stay here anymore, so I had to buy a house somewhere else. Everyone will move there.”
Lin Mu gave Ye Zixi a look, then fiercely bit down, making half the apple disappear in his mouth.
“Became a big star, made a movie, earned some money, and now you’re buying a house to hide your beauties away. Hmph, men really are no good.”
Ling Xuanrong ate a strawberry, glancing sideways at Lin Mu.
“Yeah, I’m going to hide three great beauties away, so no one else can see them, in case someone tries to steal you.”
Lin Mu laughed heartily and winked proudly.
“Is the place you bought far? We still have classes and such; will it be inconvenient?”
Song Yuru asked with a smile.
“Not far. By car, it’s less than half an hour. The environment there is very nice, and the house is beautiful. It will be very comfortable to live in. All kinds of facilities are available nearby. I liked it at first sight.”
Lin Mu smiled slightly.
“Yay! We have our own house!”
Ye Zixi giggled and immediately hopped in a circle on the spot.
“That’s A-Mu’s house. Why are you so excited?”
Ling Xuanrong pulled Ye Zixi, who plopped down onto the sofa.
“A-Mu’s is ours; what’s the difference? Would he dare not let me live there?”
Ye Zixi proudly raised her head and turned to stare at Lin Mu.
“Of course I wouldn’t dare kick out a little ancestor like you. Stay as you please; there are over ten rooms inside, one more floor than this current house.”
Lin Mu shook his head with a helpless smile. Dealing with a little devil like Ye Zixi, he had no tricks up his sleeve. “In the next couple of days, pack your things. Get everything sorted. We’ll move as soon as possible.”
“Time to pack!”
Ye Zixi took two bites to finish her apple, cheered happily, and then rushed up to the second floor.
The afternoon passed busily with everyone packing. The three women’s belongings were astonishingly numerous; even Lin Mu felt dizzy looking at them. They really knew how to shop, and the key point was they couldn’t bear to throw anything away—everything had to be taken along.
After having dinner at home in the evening, Lin Mu went out again.
This time, he wasn’t going to see Dragon Eye. Instead, he arrived at the entrance of Imperial Dynasty. From afar, the lookouts spotted Lin Mu’s car and hurried to the roadside to wait. As soon as Lin Mu stopped the car, a young man opened the door.
“Young Master Lin, you’re here.”
The young man greeted with a smile.
“Is Tianming upstairs?”
Lin Mu nodded.
“Yes, he’s in the office. You can go straight up, Young Master Lin. I’ll park the car.”
Lin Mu smiled slightly, patted the young man’s shoulder, and then went straight upstairs. The young man standing at the office door saw him coming, quickly greeted him, and then opened the office door.
“Young Master Lin, what brings you here today?”
Wu Tianming was talking with a few department heads. Seeing Lin Mu enter, he stood up and smiled.
“I came about something. You finish your discussion first; I’m in no hurry. I can wait a bit.”
Lin Mu smiled and greeted the others present, then sat on a sofa to the side.
“Our matters are all trivial; we’re embarrassing ourselves in front of Young Master Lin. Everyone, let’s head back for now; we’ll talk another day.”
Wu Tianming laughed heartily, gave a look, and everyone present stood up, greeted Lin Mu, and left the office.
“This time, I came to ask if you’ve heard any news recently about people secretly inquiring about me.”
Lin Mu asked directly.
“So it’s about that. We did hear some news because people also tried to get information through our channels. But the matter might not be that simple.”
Wu Tianming frowned slightly.
“Oh? Did something happen?”
Lin Mu asked quickly.
“Yes. After our people received this news, they sent a few to secretly investigate those people’s origins. As a result, all those who went to investigate died. Their necks were snapped—clean and efficient methods.”
Wu Tianming nodded.
“All dead. It seems those people don’t want their identities uncovered.”
Lin Mu nodded, lost in thought. “Those secretly asking about my identity should all be from Huaxia, right?”
“That’s right. How did you know, Young Master Lin?”
Wu Tianming asked, puzzled.
“Simple. If they sent foreigners to ask about me, wouldn’t that be too obvious?”
Lin Mu smiled faintly. “Since they don’t want anyone to know their identity, the best way is to bribe people from Huaxia to do their dirty work.”
“True, that’s exactly it. What do you plan to do now, Young Master Lin?”
After thinking for a moment, Wu Tianming asked again.
“I plan for you to set up a security company. Although things are going well as they are now, it’s not really presentable. We need to transform and legitimize the business.”
Lin Mu nodded and smiled at Wu Tianming.
