Chapter 159: Flying a Plane Isn’t That Hard Either
Chapter 159: Flying a Plane Isn’t That Hard Either
Hearing the hijacker’s words, Wen Qiming’s heart sank at once. He hadn’t expected that besides his daughter being in their hands, they also had a plane and over two hundred passengers under their control.
Picking up the phone on his desk, he dialed a short number without speaking. Instead, he pressed the number one three times in a row. In less than a minute, several police officers rushed into the office carrying advanced equipment and began adjusting it nervously.
Soon, one officer gave a thumbs-up, indicating they had connected to the mobile phone signal. The equipment then remotely searched for the location of the other signal. Before long, they identified it as a Donghai Airlines flight originally scheduled to land at Kyoto International Airport.
“Releasing them is complicated. I need some time. I can’t just have the prison release them with one sentence. I need to come up with a plan to get them out first.”
Knowing that the monitoring had started, Wen Qiming continued to stall for time.
“Director Wen, we can’t wait long. Our brothers won’t wait around forever. You have five minutes—only five minutes. If you don’t give us a satisfactory answer by then, we’ll have to say sorry!”
Without waiting for a reply, the hijacker hung up.
“Go tell the captain to change the course. Make an emergency landing as planned!”
After throwing the phone back to Wen Rongrong, the hijacker spoke directly to the person in front of Lin Mu.
“I’ll go. I can use the restroom on the way.”
After saying this, Lin Mu turned and walked back. The real hijacker had been knocked out by him in the flight attendant restroom. If that person saw, it would be troublesome.
“Mm, hurry up.”
That person nodded, then continued guarding the passengers in the business class cabin.
Pushing open the door to the first class cabin, Lin Mu had just stepped inside when the entire cabin fell completely silent. Everyone stared at him nervously. Since the hijackers all wore similar outfits, they couldn’t tell which one was Lin Mu.
“Everyone, don’t be nervous. I’m back. I need to go to the cockpit first. The hijackers want to force the captain to change course. I’ll go speak with the captain.”
Lin Mu nodded, then walked straight through the first class cabin toward the cockpit.
As soon as he entered the cockpit, before Lin Mu could speak, the captain and co-pilot both turned around at the same time. Seeing Lin Mu dressed like that, they showed no signs of panic. Instead, they exchanged a smile.
“So, is everything settled in the back?”
The captain turned back to adjust the instruments and buttons on the control panel, smiling as he spoke.
“Yes, everything’s settled. They sent me to inform you to change the course and make an emergency landing at the predetermined destination.”
The sudden shift made even Lin Mu pause for a moment. How could even the captain be one of the hijackers?
Luckily, he was wearing a mask, so no one could see his expression change. Lin Mu quickly adapted and followed along with the hijackers’ plan.
“Change the course now? It’s a few minutes ahead of schedule, but it doesn’t matter. We can change it now.”
The captain nodded, then operated the controls, setting a target location and engaging the autopilot.
Once everything was done, Lin Mu suddenly struck. With two hand blades, he knocked out both the captain and co-pilot. Since the plane was on autopilot, no one needed to steer it for now.
After tying both of them up, Lin Mu carried them one by one into the first class cabin and threw them into the flight attendant restroom.
“Huh? Lin Mu, weren’t you supposed to notify the captain? Why did you knock out both the captain and co-pilot? Who’s going to fly the plane now?”
Yao Xianxian stood up, looking puzzled.
“These two might be their accomplices, or they might have been replaced by the hijackers. Either way, they’re definitely not good people. When I went in, they weren’t surprised at all and even asked me if everything was settled in the back.”
Lin Mu shook his head. “The plane’s destination has been changed for now, and it’s on autopilot, so no one needs to fly it. I’ll go deal with the remaining hijackers in the back first, then come back to handle these two.”
After a brief explanation, Lin Mu returned to the business class cabin. Walking up behind the hijacker standing near the door, he tapped his shoulder and said, “I’ve notified them. The course has been changed now.”
The man turned to look, but before he could speak, his body went numb. He couldn’t even open his mouth. Not only that, he couldn’t move any part of his body. He could only convey his anger and surprise with his eyes.
When Lin Mu tapped his shoulder, he had used his Zhenqi to seal several key acupoints on the man’s body. Now, the man was completely immobilized.
Lin Mu subtly turned the hijacker’s head forward again, then walked over to the hijacker sitting beside Wen Rongrong. The man looked up at Lin Mu, about to speak, but all he saw was a flash of silver light before losing consciousness.
It turned out that as Lin Mu approached, he had drawn the Autumn Swan Sword from his waist. With a flick of his wrist, he swiftly pierced the hijacker’s clothes and struck several key acupoints on his chest, sealing his Heart Meridian and knocking him out.
But his movements—drawing the sword, striking, and sheathing it—were too fast and fluid. The man didn’t see anything clearly; he only saw a silver flash before passing out.
Apart from Wen Rongrong, none of the other passengers noticed anything unusual about this hijacker. Everyone remained quietly in their seats, not daring to breathe loudly or look around, especially since there was still a hijacker watching them from the front.
“Shh!”
As Wen Rongrong made a silencing gesture, Lin Mu didn’t pause at all. He walked straight toward the economy class cabin at the back. In the economy class cabin, two hijackers were guarding the passengers. Seizing the opportunity to speak, Lin Mu subdued both of them instantly.
The passengers were stunned by the sudden turn of events. They couldn’t understand why the hijackers were fighting among themselves.
“Everyone, don’t be afraid. I’m a passenger from first class. When I saw someone hijacking the plane, I subdued a few of them. Now I need to check the cargo hold at the back. Please stay quiet to avoid alerting any remaining accomplices.”
Lin Mu lifted his mask and spoke to the group of passengers. Then, he pulled the mask back down and headed toward the cargo hold.
There were no other hijackers in the cargo hold, but several large boxes had been opened. Judging by their size, the hijackers might have hidden inside them to board the plane, then emerged later to arm themselves and hijack the flight… With the cooperation of the captain and other flight crew, this wouldn’t have been too difficult.
Since there were no more hijackers, Lin Mu took off his outer jacket, pulled over a nearby box, and placed the jacket and weapons inside. However, he kept the Colt tucked in his waist.
Dragging the box back, Lin Mu disarmed the other two hijackers, tied them up together, and spent a few minutes gathering all seven hijackers into one bundle. He tossed all their weapons into the box as well.
When he returned to the business class cabin, he saw the man lying in a pool of blood again. Although the gunshot wound to his shoulder wasn’t fatal, if left untreated, the blood loss alone would be enough to cause serious trouble.
Kneeling beside the man, Lin Mu used his fingers to strike several points around the wound, sealing off the nearby blood vessels and temporarily stopping the bleeding. Then, he helped the man sit up in his seat.
“Why did the hijackers shoot you?”
Looking at the man’s pale face, Lin Mu asked curiously.
“I’m a member of the Special Police Forces. I was on vacation to visit my wife and kids when I encountered these hijackers. I tried to seize an opportunity to capture them but failed.”
The man coughed, clutching his wounded shoulder, and spoke weakly.
“You were too impulsive. They had guns. You shouldn’t have acted hastily. What if you had hurt other passengers? That wouldn’t be good, right?”
Lin Mu shook his head.
“You’re right. I wasn’t thinking clearly earlier. Maybe it’s a professional habit—when I see illegal activities, I just want to stop them.”
The man gave a weak smile.
“Alright, rest for now. Stay calm and keep your heart rate from spiking. I’ll land the plane as quickly as possible.”
Just as Lin Mu turned to leave, Wen Rongrong’s mobile phone suddenly rang. He immediately turned to look.
Seeing Lin Mu’s gaze, Wen Rongrong didn’t answer the call. Instead, she extended her hand, offering the phone to Lin Mu.
“We’ve come up with a temporary plan. We’ll take your buddies to the hospital for a check-up as an excuse. You can set up an ambush along the way and rescue them yourselves!”
As soon as Lin Mu answered the phone, a voice came through.
“Director Wen, right? The hijackers have been subdued by us.”
Lin Mu smiled faintly as he replied.
“What? The hijackers have been subdued? That’s wonderful!”
Wen Qiming immediately stood up happily. The other police officers monitoring in the office exchanged delighted looks. They hadn’t expected someone so capable to be on the plane, subduing all the hijackers.
“But there’s a problem now. The captain and co-pilot of this plane might have been replaced by the hijackers or could even be their accomplices. In any case, there’s no one to fly the plane now, and the destination was reset five minutes ago. The plane is currently on autopilot.”
Lin Mu explained the current situation.
“Hmm, in that case, contact the control tower at Kyoto International Airport immediately and see if they have any solutions.”
After a moment’s thought, Wen Qiming replied promptly.
Lin Mu found a flight attendant, and together they returned to the cockpit. With her help, they contacted the control tower at Kyoto International Airport.
“This is Kyoto International Airport. Please respond if you can hear us!”
A voice came through the speaker. Lin Mu quickly explained the current situation. After learning what had happened, the tower immediately looked up relevant information. Once they obtained the plane’s model, they sent over a captain who knew how to fly it.
“Attention, everyone on Flight DH9415. Please follow the steps I describe carefully. I will guide you step by step. If you do as I say, the plane will safely reach Kyoto International Airport.”
After the captain arrived, he first tried to calm everyone’s nerves. But Lin Mu wasn’t nervous at all. Still, he didn’t argue and instead followed the steps the captain taught him to gradually adjust the plane’s destination.
“You’re doing great! The destination of Flight DH9415 has now been corrected. It’s expected to arrive above Kyoto in 35 minutes and begin landing in 37 minutes. I’ll guide you through the landing procedure then.”
The captain praised Lin Mu’s actions before temporarily ending the communication.
