At one o’clock in the morning.

Only streetlights remained on campus, and everywhere was quiet. All the dormitory buildings had turned off their lights.

Standing outside the wall, illuminated by the light from the roadside, the two dark figures finally revealed their true faces—they were Lin Mu and Tang Beibei.

The reputation of Tenglong Group was so widespread that even Lin Mu had heard of it. This group appeared on television far too often—it was a very powerful multinational enterprise in Huaxia.

After getting out of the taxi, Lin Mu looked up at the pitch-black building and asked curiously, “The Dragon Guardians Corps Base isn’t here, is it? This is the city center, the busiest area.”

“Why not? Did you think we were some mysterious organization that would build our base in some remote, desolate place?”

Tang Beibei rolled her eyes at him. “Being in a place like this lets us quickly get the latest information and handle any issues promptly. If we were stuck in some remote area, by the time we got to a problem, it would be way too late.”

Hearing this, Lin Mu thought it made sense. After all, busy, densely populated areas were more likely to have incidents, so being nearby was more convenient.

But when the two entered the elevator, Tang Beibei didn’t press any floor button. Instead, she took out a card and swiped it lightly over the display panel.

After a soft beep, the original elevator buttons sank down, and a new panel rose up. It had only one button, showing a dragon pattern.

Tang Beibei pressed that button, and the elevator suddenly dropped, descending rapidly downward.

In less than ten seconds, the elevator stopped. When the doors opened again, a vast circular underground space appeared before Lin Mu’s eyes.

Various advanced devices were neatly arranged, and even at one o’clock in the morning, many staff members were hard at work.

“This is the real Dragon Guardians Corps Base. The Tenglong Group upstairs is just a front.”

Seeing Lin Mu’s stunned expression, Tang Beibei giggled and walked left down the hallway. Lin Mu quickly followed, looking around with great interest along the way.

Soon, Tang Beibei stopped in front of an office and gently knocked on the door. A deep voice immediately came from inside: “Come in!”

He was of medium height, slightly stocky, with neat short hair and a square face that looked very authoritative. He wore loose-fitting training clothes.
