Chapter 138: Path of Survival

“You really were here!” Liu Hui put down the bundle of equipment on her back and rushed toward Lü Yang excitedly.

“I said I would wait for you here, and I never break my promises.” Lü Yang patted Liu Hui’s back, then pushed her away. He walked to the bundle of equipment he had prepared for her.

A super Dark Lumberjack—much larger than an ordinary one, wielding a huge Chainsaw, and covered in thick Black Fog Armor—noticed the commotion here and immediately raised its Chainsaw high, charging toward Lü Yang and Liu Hui.

“I… WILL… KILL… ALL… OF… YOU!”

This boss-level Dark Lumberjack actually spoke. Its voice was slurred but unmistakably Sun Haibo’s voice! Only now it sounded extremely ferocious, like a wounded wild beast.

This charging Sun Haibo was now completely wrapped in thick Black Mist, his eyes glazed over with confusion. Though he could still speak, clearly only his killing instincts remained.

The scream earlier must have been from his first True Body. Sure enough, as Lü Yang had guessed, after the second True Body entered Lutou Town, it would be completely controlled by darkness, mutate, and then madly hunt down his own first True Body.

Without hesitation, Lü Yang threw the Flashbang Grenade in his hand at the darkness-controlled Sun Haibo. “Watch out!”

Lü Yang shouted loudly and forcefully pushed Liu Hui toward the wall. Then he took out his flashlight, turned on the bright beam, and shone it on Sun Haibo, drawing Sun Haibo’s attention to himself.

Sun Haibo showed no fear of the flashlight’s brightness at all; he didn’t even cover his eyes. After braking his momentum, he turned and charged at Lü Yang once more. His charge was extremely fast, at least twice as fast as those ordinary Dark Lumberjacks!

Lü Yang rolled sideways, barely dodging Sun Haibo’s charge this time. But Sun Haibo stopped immediately after rushing past, identified the direction, and instantly charged at Lü Yang at high speed again.

With a ‘Snap!’ sound, Liu Hui turned on the Portable Searchlight she was carrying, pressed the high-brightness mode, and shone it on Sun Haibo.

“No!”

Lü Yang immediately shouted to stop Liu Hui, but it was too late…

Liu Hui’s action instantly drew Sun Haibo’s hatred toward her. Sun Haibo quickly turned around, abandoned chasing Lü Yang, and charged at high speed toward Liu Hui by the wall.
