Chapter 178: End
Chapter 178: End
Everyone in black was shocked when they saw Zuo Zhicheng’s amazing palm strike. That kind of power did not seem like something a human should have.
Suddenly, someone looked at Zuo Zhicheng’s face, clothing, and eye patch, and seemed to realize something.
“Zuo… Zuo Zhicheng!”
It was clear that Zuo Zhicheng’s portrait, or at least his description, had spread widely in Dìyù Gate. Once someone shouted his name, more than a third of the people in black turned and ran.
They knew very well how scary a Human Phase Master was. It would take a huge army to surround such a person and use up all their Power of Mind and Spirit. Or they would need the most advanced explosives or poisons to kill such a monster.
As for the remaining people in black, some grabbed Lin Yuexi, hoping to use her to threaten Zuo Zhicheng so they could escape.
Others pulled out their swords and charged at Zuo Zhicheng, wanting to fight for their lives.
Zuo Zhicheng did not use his Power of Mind and Spirit. That was a very precious power, and he would not waste it on these low-level fighters. To deal with these people, he did not even need to draw his Jian; using his bare hands was enough.
With a loud thud, one person in black was punched in the chest. His rib cage shattered instantly. Blood and pieces of organs spilled out of his mouth. But Zuo Zhicheng had already moved and appeared in front of another person, pointing a finger at him.
His index finger struck the opponent’s forehead. The terrifying piercing force, along with vibrations, went straight through the man’s brain. The brain matter, pushed by this force, slammed against the skull, bounced back, and turned into a bloody pulp.
Zuo Zhicheng turned around and calmly reached out his right hand, catching three arrows. With a quick squeeze, he snapped all three arrows. At the same time, his figure darkened slightly as he activated Night Sea and hid in the surrounding shadows.
“Shoot! Shoot!”
“Don’t let him get close!”
“He’s hiding! Be careful of the surroundings!”
“Ah!”
A scream echoed as one person in black had his head twisted off by Zuo Zhicheng, who appeared suddenly behind him. Zuo Zhicheng grabbed the man’s arm, threw the body, and hit two others nearby, breaking their ribs. Then he disappeared into the darkness again.
“Gather together!”
“Watch your backs!”
“He’s over there!”
Shouts, curses, and screams filled the area. In the terrified eyes of everyone, Zuo Zhicheng moved like the god of death in the darkness, disappearing and reappearing, taking lives one after another.
He looked so relaxed and skilled, as if he were simply killing little chicks.
“He’s hiding in the shadows!”
“Shoot together! All shoot at once!”
In just a short while, Zuo Zhicheng had killed fifteen people. Most of them were those who tried to run away, and he targeted them first.
The remaining people stood together, drawing their bows and aiming at the shadows where Zuo Zhicheng was hiding.
One big man grabbed Lin Yuexi by the hair, pulled her in front of him, and held a knife to her neck. “Stop! Don’t move! If you move again, I’ll kill her!”
But the reply was a flying dagger.
The shadow of the dagger flashed and instantly plunged into the big man’s eye, piercing his eyeball and entering his brain. He collapsed without even a scream.
Zuo Zhicheng would never accept threats. Even if it were someone he knew like Jiang Tianzheng, Jiang Qing, or Xiao Lan, he would not compromise because that would only lead to a worse outcome.
Although Zuo Zhicheng acted quickly, Lin Yuexi’s neck was still cut by the blade. Red blood gushed out.
“Shoot! Shoot!”
The remaining people in black shot their arrows at Zuo Zhicheng. Because the distance was very close, they shot straight. But Zuo Zhicheng leaped lightly and dodged the arrows.
This leap was not just for dodging. Zuo Zhicheng soared into the air, about four or five meters high, and then descended toward the crowd in a parabolic arc.
It was like an elephant crashing into a group of people. The men at the front were struck by Zuo Zhicheng’s body, their bones breaking, and they fell to the ground, spitting blood.
Zuo Zhicheng only felt a slight numbness in his feet, then stood up immediately.
With a loud punch, one person in black had his head deformed.
With a crisp kick, another had his pelvis shattered.
Zuo Zhicheng was like a meat grinder. Every punch and kick took a life. The elites of Dìyù Gate around him were as fragile as paper figures.
Soon, the bloody scene completely shattered their will to fight. Almost no one continued to attack Zuo Zhicheng. Most chose to run away or beg for mercy.
But except for three captives, Zuo Zhicheng killed all the others.
Meanwhile, Han Saier scrambled over. She rushed toward Lin Yuexi, who was lying on the ground. Seeing the blood spreading under Lin Yuexi’s neck, she covered her mouth with both hands, tears streaming down her face.
“Move aside.”
Zuo Zhicheng said coldly. At the same time, he shook his arms slightly, and all the blood on them fell off. Seeing Han Saier’s angry look, he seemed to know what she wanted to say and replied with a cold expression, “She’s not dead yet.”
“What did you say?”
Zuo Zhicheng crouched down and began bandaging Lin Yuexi’s wound. “Lucky. The trachea wasn’t cut, and the main artery wasn’t hurt.”
Seeing Lin Yuexi open her eyes, looking very weak, Han Saier asked worriedly, “Senior sister, are you okay? How do you feel?”
Lin Yuexi smiled bitterly. “It seems I won’t die.”
“I’ll be back later.”
After finishing the bandaging, Zuo Zhicheng ignored their sobbing. He said calmly and then dragged the three captured members of Dìyù Gate away. Not long after, screams came from the woods.
Han Saier shivered and looked fearfully in the direction of the screams. Lin Yuexi also glanced that way.
They looked at the bodies scattered all around and felt even more afraid of Zuo Zhicheng, even though he had just saved them.
Cold, cruel, and incredibly powerful. That was their impression of Zuo Zhicheng.
“What a scary man.”
Han Saier asked with lingering fear, “Is a man like this really suitable to join the Shadow Corps? He’s too dangerous.”
Lin Yuexi smiled and said, “That’s exactly why he’s more reliable.” But in the next moment, her eyes filled with fear as she looked at Han Saier.
Without realizing it, a huge shadow had enveloped both of them.
