Chapter 73: New World, a Terrifying Entity with No Health Bar
Chen Xiyi stood on the land of the New World, looking up at the sky as he swallowed.
‘Why is this thing here? What kind of world is this?’
In the sky floated a huge nickname. Thankfully, the name was white. Although he couldn’t tell what kind of creature it belonged to, the health bar that had turned into question marks was enough to prove how terrifying this thing was.
[Dao-Integrating Eternal, Health Points: ???, Status: Eating]
[Ability 1: Art of I Ching Divination]
[Ability 2: Feeding on Qi for Longevity]
[Ability 3: Unity with the Dao]
[Ability 4: Rearing Dynasties]
[History]
[March: Eating]
[March: Eating]
[March: …]
All four abilities had names that sounded incredibly powerful, but unfortunately, there was no explanation of what they actually did. Chen Xiyi couldn’t ask either—this entity wasn’t part of the Homestead System; it belonged to the unfinished half of some incomplete creation.
Chen Xiyi minimized his Game Map and saw that the Dao-Integrating Eternal covered half of it with a single white dot. In other words, this terrifying entity was half the size of the world. This made him inwardly curse even more.
‘So, I jumped straight from the Dharma-Ending Age into a top-tier fantasy world? Isn’t that a bit sudden?’ Chen Xiyi grumbled to himself.
It didn’t make any sense. Shouldn’t things progress gradually?
Chen Xiyi felt a lingering fear, grateful that he had come fully prepared.
He hadn’t brought too many resources, only some food, four basic devices, and transportation items.
He had left Jianghu in the lake at the back of his Homestead to tend to the water veins, and he himself was wearing the Scholar’s outfit instead of the fearsome iron armor.
Luckily, he hadn’t planned on pretending to be mysterious this time, or he would have ended up humiliated.
‘With such a terrifying entity wandering around, life must be hard for the people in this world.’ Before, Chen Xiyi thought that as a Player who couldn’t die, he had nothing to fear.
But now, he had encountered something without a health bar, and this made the overconfident Immortal Fuyao completely back down.
For now, he was just a poor scholar who couldn’t even harm a chicken. As for Immortal Fuyao? Who was that? He didn’t know him.
This time, his spawn point was still in the wild, but this world was different from the last in every way.
After hiding the Dao-Integrating Eternal’s dot on the map, countless golden dots appeared across the entire map. Each golden dot represented a Module, and more importantly, all of them were complete.
But Chen Xiyi was puzzled—could one world really have so many Modules?
What kind of strange world was this?
[Module: ???]
‘So many Modules—wow, I’ve hit the jackpot!’ Though confused, Chen Xiyi was incredibly excited.
Besides the Modules, there were also blue dots, though not many. After a quick count, he found about nine blue dots, six more than before.
‘I’m not in a hurry for Fairies. I can collect the stationary ones along the way, but I should go for the Modules first. These Modules might be part of this world’s cultivation system.’
Chen Xiyi felt this was a huge opportunity.
As for the nameless Immortal Being covering half the world, he could simply ignore it since it had a white name.
However, because of this terrifying entity, Chen Xiyi didn’t dare speak carelessly. He kept all his thoughts about being a Player, Modules, and the System to himself, just in case the entity could hear him.
‘There’s a Module not far from me. I’ll grab it first. This wilderness doesn’t feel quite right.’ Chen Xiyi wasn’t sure what kind of world this was, but with supernatural beings around, the common people probably didn’t have an easy life.
He thought about using the Alloy Carriage, but then decided that since it wasn’t far, he would just walk. It would be good exercise.
Besides, if someone targeted him, he might end up getting killed for his belongings.
Dying once didn’t bother him much, but he was worried about revealing his ability to resurrect. If someone found out and figured out the pattern, they could camp his spawn point, wasting all the great resources this world had to offer.
So Chen Xiyi thought it was better to keep a low profile for now. Once he built more Shelters in this world, he wouldn’t have to worry about being spawn-camped after death.
For the time being, it was best to stay discreet.
It must have rained recently, as the ground was muddy and hard to walk on. Chen Xiyi didn’t mind, mainly because his feet didn’t get dirty when he stepped in the mud.
Thanks to his outfit, the mud and water slid right off his feet instead of staining them like normal clothes.
“…”
Seeing this, Chen Xiyi was speechless. He had always thought his outfit was normal, but now it seemed more like something from a game—after all, game outfits never get dirty.
But in reality, it was obviously weird.
He had always tried to act like a normal person, but now everything about him was abnormal, which made things really difficult for him.
The conflict between physical laws and game mechanics was something he hadn’t expected, and the game mechanics seemed to have the upper hand.
‘It’s fine. Maybe this world has similar spells, martial skills, or realms. It’s normal.’ Chen Xiyi calmed himself down with this reassurance.
Though he felt a bit bad about lying to himself.
After ignoring the strange aspects of his outfit, Chen Xiyi continued on his way. Honestly, having an outfit that never got dirty had its perks—he could roll around on the ground without getting filthy.
More importantly, the outfit had no Durability. Even though it couldn’t block damage for Chen Xiyi, it was indestructible.
Even if he got beaten black and blue in the future, his clothes wouldn’t get dirty or torn, which was pretty good.
“The mountain looks close, but it’s actually far.” Chen Xiyi glanced at his Game Map and couldn’t help but complain.
He usually rode the Alloy Carriage, which was super fast, so he never noticed the distance. Now, walking to keep a low profile, he felt miserable.
Fortunately, Chen Xiyi had the Alloy Equipment’s stamina recovery Enchantment, plus the Vigerous state from having an overflow Satiety Level. Although his stamina had dropped, it was slowly recovering. Even after walking for so long, he wasn’t tired but instead full of energy.
