Chapter 202: Eight Cellmates

After exiting the elevator, Sizar didn’t know how many meters below sea level he was. In any case, it was completely silent all around. Walking through a narrow corridor that seemed endless, combined with the monotonous fluorescent lights, made it feel especially oppressive.

The Divine Prison was shaped like an inverted pyramid and was divided into four regions: east, south, west, and north. Each region was further partitioned into several sections. Usually, apart from the time spent in the central area for exercise, the prisoners could never meet. Even within the same region, they were permanently separated, making it difficult to communicate.

Sizar had learned all this from the Prison Tour Guide given to him by Archmonde when he left the warden’s office. The guide also specifically mentioned that each small section at the Harm Rank held about eight to ten prisoners. The previously mentioned “harmonious South Third Zone” referred to the third prison in the southern part of the Harm Rank.

“We’re here.”

The guard in front of him stopped before a massive alloy door. Sizar looked up and saw the characters for “South No. 3” engraved on it.

This was going to be his home from now on! Sizar took a deep breath, hoping his future neighbors would be a bit more friendly.

Just as he was weaving these pleasant fantasies, the metal floor began to shake violently. Then, a booming noise came from behind the door, followed by a male voice that penetrated the wall: “Fatso! Where are my slippers? You stole my stuff again! Do you really want to taste death? Do you think I won’t act? I just want to live quietly for a while! Don’t push me!”

The floor shook more and more violently, and the booming sound behind the alloy door grew louder. The prison guard in front could barely stand, clutching the door tightly with both hands, struggling to maintain balance. Sizar’s face quickly turned pale. Wasn’t South Third Zone supposed to be the most harmonious place? Why was there such an exaggerated commotion?

Just as Sizar’s heart sank, a woman’s voice screamed out, piercing through the iron wall and drilling directly into his eardrums: “Stop arguing! It’s only twelve o’clock! I’m not done with my extra sleep—shut up, all of you!”

After the screaming, it quickly grew quiet behind the metal door. The guard wiped off cold sweat, looking terrified as he entered the code, eager to get away from Sizar’s side.

“Rumble…” The one-zhang-thick alloy door slowly rose, stopping at about two meters high. The guard turned and beckoned, leading Sizar inside.

Blinding light shot into Sizar’s eyes, and he quickly raised his hand to shield them. The next moment, he froze completely. Was this a prison?

Looking up, a super luxurious crystal chandelier hung from the roughly ten-meter-high ceiling, casting beams of gold and silver light downward. The prison interior was beautifully illuminated, resembling the lobby of an eight-star hotel.

Looking down, a four-meter-wide golden marble floor corridor stretched between two rows of cells. The cells on both sides were made of pure crystal walls—square, 10×10×10, high-class rooms.

Inside the hundred-square-meter cells, there was ample lighting, a complete set of solid wood furniture, and handwoven carpets. The bookshelves were filled with books, and each cell was equipped with a projection screen and several other high-end gadgets. Looking closer, at the far end of the room, there seemed to be an attached bathroom—though it was unclear if a kitchen was included.

In short, it was definitely more grand and high-class than your average five-star hotel! Sizar even thought the Divine Prison’s cells seemed better than Black Molar’s apartment villas. It made you want to stay and never leave!

Led by the guard, Sizar walked slowly forward. The cells on both sides had transparent crystal walls, making it easy to see inside from the corridor. Of course, the Divine Prison also provided prisoners with three curtains in colors of their choice, which could completely block the light and prevent anyone in the corridor or next door from peeping.

The first cell on Sizar’s right was tightly covered with pink curtains, so nothing inside could be seen. Without a doubt, it must belong to the woman who had just screamed. He just didn’t know how old she was or whether she was pretty. On the crystal door was written the name “Chaya Fran.”

Looking at the first cell on the left, the furnishings inside were simple—aside from a set of furniture and a projection screen, there was nothing else. However, the floor was covered with all kinds of toys, even including two life-sized stuffed bunny dolls, the kind Dorothy liked the most.

As for the cell’s owner, Sizar looked around for a long time before finally spotting a muscular bald man curled up in a corner. When their eyes met, the brawny man trembled fearfully and curled up even tighter.

He seemed to be afraid of strangers? Sizar shifted his gaze and found the name “Boulder Johnson” on the crystal door. Hiss, his appearance matched the name, but his demeanor was completely opposite! More like Sponge Johnson!

Further down, the second cell on the right was completely empty, not even a curtain to cover the crystal wall. There was only a massive creature that looked like a Great Demon King, squatting in the middle of the cell, muttering something with its head down, completely ignoring the guard and Sizar who had entered.

Sizar looked away and found the name “Huasheng” on the door. It felt mismatched.

The second cell on the left had its side curtains drawn, but the one facing the corridor was open. Sizar peered inside and saw a well-dressed middle-aged gentleman with waxed hair and a mustache, sitting in a chair brewing tea for himself while reading a book called “Daily Horse Maintenance.” On the bookshelf behind him were densely packed volumes related to biological farming, though the majority were horse-related.

As if sensing Sizar’s stare, the gentleman looked up and met his gaze, giving a meaningful smile that made Sizar feel very uncomfortable. This guy gave off the vibe of a carefree playboy but even more of a slick con artist. Hmm, his name was “Romond ?? Sasia.”

Looking further back, the third cell on the right had a man in dark green military uniform, wearing a peaked cap, leaning against the crystal wall, seemingly napping. The low brim of his cap shadowed most of his face. Additionally, he was wearing a flip-flop on his right foot, while his left foot was bare.

Recalling the earlier scene, Sizar pieced it together: probably the fat guy in Right Two stole the slipper of the military-uniformed man in Right Three, which angered Chaya in Right One, and finally scared Boulder Johnson in Left One. The gentleman in Left Two remained completely unruffled…

Continuing to observe, the third cell on the right was very messy, with all kinds of military magazines and newspapers scattered everywhere. Moreover, the back crystal wall was covered with all sorts of firearms, even heavy weapons and a cannon! Sizar used to frequent Elsa’s underground armory and knew very well whether these were real or fake. None of the weapons displayed in this cell were imitations. And then, looking at those crates of yellow bullets and plump grenades in the corner—was this really a prison?

But what was most eye-catching was a mask on the desk in the center of the room—a pumpkin-head mask that could completely cover the head. It looked very realistic, with splotches of crimson blood as if it would never dry or drip. Additionally, the pumpkin head’s eyes glowed with fiery flames, and its toothed mouth grinned wickedly.

Perhaps because Sizar stared too long, the man slightly raised his head, and a glimpse from the shadow beneath his cap swept over Sizar before he lowered his head and dozed off again. His name was “Em T.”

If the third cell on the right was messy, then the third cell on the left was a trash heap. Through the glass window, Sizar only saw garbage piled as high as a mountain—sticks, branches, iron scraps, metal chunks, fruit peels, paper scraps, plastic bags, crumpled toilet paper… You could find every kind of trash in there. Because of the excessive garbage, Sizar couldn’t see the prisoner inside at all, only that the person living there was called “Belikov.”

As for the last two cells, Right Four housed a white-bearded old man with a ruddy complexion and strong muscles. At the moment, the old man was exercising shirtless using fitness equipment. When he saw Sizar, he waved enthusiastically, as if welcoming the new neighbor.

But Sizar didn’t think the old man was kind-hearted, because written on his door were the words “The Anatomist,” not his real name.

Across from him in Left Four lived a half-machine, half-human old man. Even his beard had been modified into metal—how incredibly fashionable! When he saw Sizar, the mechanical grandpa shone red laser beams from his eyes like the Terminator, staring intently at him for a long time before turning back to tinker with his gadgets.

This old man’s door also didn’t have a real name—just the nickname “Mechanical Grandpa.” Was he related to the Atomic Samurai?

At the end of the eight cells, there was also a high-tech laboratory separated by a large crystal barrier. However, the door was sealed and couldn’t be entered; clearly, it wasn’t open. This lab was probably provided by the Divine Prison for the grandpas in the last two cells. As for the opening hours, they were likely set by the warden. Recalling the news he’d heard on the Airship Prison, those three adorable Witches might have been intended as offerings for “The Anatomist.”

Hmm… these six odd characters, plus the two other prisoners who hadn’t shown themselves, would be Sizar’s future cellmates!

“Uh, it seems to be full?” Looking at the fully occupied rooms, Sizar turned a pleading look toward the guard. All the residents here were Harm Rank prisoners—even the seemingly timid Boulder Johnson, he didn’t dare to offend!

“I know! The warden already gave instructions—you’ll stay in this one.” The guard went to Right Two and stuck a paper strip on the door that said “Huasheng.” On it was written the name “Sizar Beelzebub.”

From now on, he was going to share a cell with the Great Demon King “Huasheng”!

“Seriously?” Sizar looked at the crystal door the guard opened, his face full of surprise.

Why this completely empty cell? Shouldn’t it be Right One, Chaya Fran’s room?

“Go on in, what are you waiting for? Originally, you were supposed to be in Left Three, but that one is too messy. If you want, we can switch you there,” the guard said.

Sizar glanced back at the trash-filled Left Three, shook his head, and then thought about the muscular scaredy-cat, the creepy middle-aged gentleman, the gun maniac, The Anatomist, the Terminator grandpa. What if the only woman was a super dinosaur? Hiss, after all, a Great Demon King wasn’t completely unacceptable!

Sizar sighed sadly, gritted his teeth, and said, “I’ll take this one!”
