Chapter 199: Divine Prison (Part 2)

Sizar, awakened by the noise outside the door, rubbed his sleepy eyes and arrived by the small square in the back courtyard of Heaven’s Retribution Church. He witnessed a truly magnificent scene!

After contacting the headquarters, the branch church had hurriedly made many Angel Divine Statues overnight, placing them in the center of the square. Then, the priest connected to the World Vein and initiated a large-scale long-distance Material Transmission. Although Sizar couldn’t see the World Vein itself, he could feel the surging waves of energy. He could easily imagine the spectacular sight.

The small statues rapidly swelled in size, twisting and morphing until they transformed into numerous pure white, faceless Angels of identical appearance and indistinguishable gender. Then, flapping their wings, they flew off towards Whitehall City to exterminate the Zombies.

The sight was so thrilling it gave Sizar goosebumps all over. Although he had been lucky enough to see something similar once before, seeing nearly a hundred Angels grow from small lumps of dough into full-fledged humanoid weapons in the blink of an eye again made him feel intensely uncomfortable. This scene completely shattered the beautiful image of a lovely Angel sister he held in his mind, destroying his childhood!

Totally pure white! A perfect build! Well-defined contours! Really strong Muscles! No hair! No clothes! No fingernails! No facial features! Couldn’t see their faces! Their skin was deathly pale and utterly hairless! Did they even eat, drink, or get rid of waste? Were they really Angels, or just monsters? All in all, it was something incredible! He wondered if they were expensive?

Watching the Angels flap away, Sizar felt endless astonishment. It was way cooler than growing fruit! “Swish, swish, swish,” and a full Angel was ready! In stark contrast, he would labor himself to death all day long just creating one Milk, who’d be smashed into a pulp by a mere winged Angel in less than one round… Thinking further, if a random church branch could transmit so many Angels effortlessly, what joy was there left in living? Time to just end it all!

By noon, the disturbance was completely quelled. Under the direction of Zero Ring, all the Zombies were thrown into fires and reduced to ashes. Sizar also received concerned attention from various parties.

Sizar was officially placed under house arrest, unable to leave the church grounds. Beyond that, however, he enjoyed considerable freedom. The Church even awakened another beautiful, intellectual Angel big sister to accompany him everywhere.

Originally, Sizar was quite fond of this gentle, intellectual older-sister-neighbor type. However, the morning’s spectacle had dredged up some unpleasant memories again. Consequently, he was too scared to get close to her, constantly feeling she was just a piece of super flesh saturated with World Power. Maybe touching her even once would get him absorbed and turned into nutrients.

Moreover, Zero Ring treated Sizar to a lavish lunch to solidify and strengthen ties. While the church meals were decent—four dishes and a soup, with both meat and vegetables, nutritious and healthy—they couldn’t compare to a nearly ten-thousand-dollar feast! So, Sizar was thoroughly won over… Along with him, the foodie Angel sister fell victim to the delicious spread as well.

The Demon Hunting Association and other organizations also sent representatives to visit Sizar. They hinted at their willingness to engage in certain shady under-the-table deals. However, Sizar was a man of his word. He stuck to selling the virus to just one buyer and didn’t betray that amazing lunch.

Finally, a lieutenant from Royal Pineapple arrived at the church. He glared murderously at Sizar several times, then threatened him to hand over the key and the mysteriously missing mech suit, warning him not to speak out of turn. Sizar completely ignored him, dutifully hiding behind his Angel sister and diligently teasing Camilla with the Cat Teaser Wand.

That afternoon, Sizar handed over the sealed-up suitcase and wooden Box to church staff, asking them to deposit the items in the bank for him. The Box and suitcase were, of course, empty. The materials and the spell-concemented bread had already been stored in Camilla’s Laboratory the previous night. Appearances still needed to be maintained, though—they had to at least cover up Camilla’s spatial ability.

The church staff truly lived up to their reputation as the most reliable folks! From last night until noon, Sizar had behaved extremely meekly, cooperating fully no matter what was asked of him. He put on a show of deep repentance, willingly accepting the church’s efforts to “reform” him. Besides, personal property was sacrosanct—the church would never stoop to anything so underhanded.

Therefore, the church opened a new bank account for Sizar. They deposited the items without examining the contents, which let Sizar breathe a sigh of relief.

That afternoon, the main event arrived!

Even though he had teamed up with Zero Ring to slander Royal Pineapple extensively, they were a military organization with terrifying connections and immense support. Tossing a few buckets of dirty water wasn’t going to muddy them much.

Zero Ring wanted to take the opportunity to pressure the military group, claim the moral high ground, and seize the chance to grab that mech. Sizar, meanwhile, realized the grudge existed and seemed to be growing. Since it couldn’t be settled peacefully, why not tear things wide open? The military group originally just wanted the key back and to conveniently dispose of Sizar to appease their colonel. They never expected all these bizarre twists or getting framed as the mastermind, infuriating them to the point they wanted to vaporize him. As for the Church, they weren’t concerned about the conflicting interests of the three factions. They treated Sizar and the Virus he controlled objectively.

The threat posed by the Virus was now apparent. Sizar had erred, but his crimes didn’t warrant death. His repentance seemed sincere, so he might not be beyond redemption. The best approach was re-education: shaping his character, instilling proper life, world, and moral values, erasing the negative influence the Northern Netherworld had on this youth, molding him into a good kid who could contribute to Ceylon!

After much wrangling, the mech key became the focal point. The Military Group and Zero Ring remained deadlocked. The Military Group claimed the key was theirs; Zero Ring insisted Sizar had sold it to them. Neither seemed entirely wrong, so another charge—trafficking stolen goods—was added to Sizar’s tally. The more crimes piled up and the graver the offenses, Sizar grinned; it meant he’d definitely avoid being handed over to the Military Group for “processing.”

Ultimately, the Church assessed Sizar’s threat level based on Whitehall City’s casualties. He was classified as “Highest Affliction,” possessing the capacity for destruction at a continental hazard level.

This rating stemmed entirely from his Demonic Virus, not his personal fighting power. He was essentially being overrated. The weight carried by this classification far exceeded the standard “Affliction Level” among Ability Users. Typically, criminals listed on the survey forms easily outmatched ten or more peers of their own supposed “rank.” Sizar represented a rare exception: a single peer could easily defeat ten of his kind. He was basically the shame of the Disaster Investigation List.

Furthermore, Sizar and his Virus would be featured in the “Affliction Level” column of the newest edition of the Hazard Investigation Assessment List. He’d get a special spread, serving as a cautionary tale to deter underage Ability Users from making big mistakes.

Sizar showed superficial remorse for this decision, yet secretly felt secretly pleased. Finally making it onto the List, it hadn’t been easy! Just being “Affliction Level” was already something to be proud of! Teacher Snow, I didn’t let you down! One day, I will definitely become a continental-class Hazard! Even a continental-level Scourge! Sark, that fool, might just pee his pants seeing my big red name!

After the verdict, Sizar—largely thanks to the good words put in by the Angel sister who enjoyed the fancy feast—benefited from his “good attitude.” He was exceptionally transferred into the Church’s internal Extermination Agency for “reform.” Everything felt so casual, so unceremonious; it seemed downright fishy even to Sizar. There must be something hidden going on! Did that old geezer in the east secretly bribe someone?

Receiving this news, the Royal Pineapple group protested strongly. They insisted Sizar must be connected to the mysterious faction targeting the key and had definitively stolen a mech. He deserved harsh punishment! Zero Ring, on the other hand, had nothing to say and didn’t seem inclined to comment.

The commotion lasted until past seven in the afternoon. That’s when members of the hazard investigation team returned to the church from the Forest, accompanied by an imposing giant wolf.

This wolf was one of several Deities dwelling in the forests surrounding Whitehall. Its territory encompassed the lands where the Beastkin village and Elf township resided. Upon encountering the Angels, the huge wolf sighed sorrowfully and recounted the brutal events of the previous night.

The number and power level of Zombies in the Forest vastly surpassed those in the city. While numerous Deities resided within the Forest, none had been willing to lend assistance. They were all Lesser Deities, after all, with limited individual power. If the wolf weakened, others saw an opportunity to seize the World Vein under its control.

Without the concerted suppression effort of the Military, the Church, and the Association present in the city, the Forest suffered unimaginable damage throughout the night. Though the explosive growth of Zombies had slackened slightly, countless fearless monsters freely hunted prey throughout the woods. This severely disrupted the food chain, an imbalance that would require over a decade to mend. The most urgent matter, however, was dealing with the increasingly powerful Demonic beast-Zombies. They couldn’t be allowed to undergo deep Demonic Transformation and escape, lest they ignite another new, small-scale Demonic Calamity.

This fresh allegation was exceedingly grave. Thus, with Royal Pineapple stoking the flames, Sizar’s crimes escalated in severity until even the boy himself was left shocked.

In the end, Sizar proudly ascended to “Lowest Scourge,” though he unfortunately failed to beat the record for the youngest recipient of this rank. The Church also deemed the Demonic Virus incredibly dangerous, entirely beyond Sizar’s control to manage. He was exiled to the remote Divine Prison, jointly administered by the Federation, the Church, and the Demon Hunting Association. There, he would enjoy complete isolation from the world. How long this exile would last remained undecided.
