Chapter 133: An Acquaintance
Chapter 133: An Acquaintance
In the end, he got pulled into an upscale western clothing store and changed into a men’s formal suit.
He wore a white shirt inside, topped with a silver-gray tailcoat. Even his hair was combed meticulously.
“It’s still a formal occasion after all, so every visiting guest wears proper attire.”
Miss Sayaka sighed. “Dad that idiot definitely forgot to tell you about this.”
This Miss Sayaka was quite the easygoing type. When they first met, her speech felt a bit reserved, but once they got familiar, she started acting careless and open.
“Is this rental? Feels like actual branded stuff. Sorry about this, I’ll cover the rent…”
He didn’t finish before Miss Sayaka cut him off. “Relax, Nishizuka-kun! A friend owns that shop, just borrowed it. Doesn’t cost anything… Plus, you’re a student. Can’t have you paying.”
“Then, thank you.”
Like him, she changed clothes too. In that upscale dress shop, she picked a silk gown with an asymmetrical shoulder strap, its hem edged with silver glittering trim. Paired with her 180cm height, it gave her a stylish, elegant vibe—a classic model figure. Yet this classy lady image contrasted completely with her wild, leather-jacket clad, motorcycle-riding look earlier.
“By the way, Nishizuka-kun, is your vision terrible? If it’s okay, better take the glasses off.”
“Fine.”
His vision had somehow improved entirely too. Boosting physical stats improved even eyesight. Currently, those were just zero-prescription lenses on his nose.
“Great! Looks totally different without glasses. Your face instantly sharpens!”
Miss Sayaka gasped seeing Fang Jing remove them.
This high schooler looked like two different people—with glasses versus without.
He wasn’t bad-looking at all. Handsome face. Even her critical eyes admitted it.
Features sculpted as if by supernatural skill, sharp eyes holding an unusually keen gaze, thin lips lightly closed. Masculinity flowed naturally from him. That straight nose, plus his ever-growing power level and terrifying physique…
The confidence of someone strong radiated outward, giving off an unusual aura.
The black-framed glasses acted like a layer of disguise. At least right now, compared to that gloomy-looking boy wearing glasses earlier, he felt like an entirely different person.
“Not bad! Not bad!”
Sayaka’s eyes lit up. She playfully patted his shoulder.
“Oh, interested in modeling for our magazine? Honestly, you’ve got potential…”
“Potential?”
“I work at a fashion magazine. Always need models. If you’re interested, Nishizuka-kun, come find me anytime…”
“…”
Fang Jing didn’t reply. Wearing this outfit felt unnatural. Since his original body, he never liked formal clothes like this.
After leaving the upscale shop, Sayaka didn’t ride her bike and switched to a red car instead.
The seats were incredibly soft. The car glided forward smoothly. Hard to tell if it was the car’s quality or Sayaka’s driving skill—he felt zero g-force.
“This Miss Sayaka’s car too?”
“Huh? Impossible… Could never afford something this pricey. Borrowed it from a friend. She’s got so many sports cars, barely drives them anyway…”
Forty-five minutes later, they parked before a grand estate gate right in the city. Looking closer, it wasn’t actually an estate—the gate sign declared it the “Arashiyama” private art gallery.
“Haha, Nishizuka! You finally made it!”
Hatakena Gensai smiled seeing him with his daughter. Normally dressed casually in his shop, he switched to formal attire here too.
Many guests filled the gallery, dressed elegantly. Many looked like social elites. Some knew each other, exchanging greetings.
A plump lady holding a small dog chatted cheerily with the crowd.
Noticing Hatakena Gensai, Sayaka, and Fang Jing, she smiled and nodded towards them.
“That’s Sukiko-san hosting this exhibit.”
Fang Jing paused slightly. Online photos showed a slender beauty. How long since then? This famous actress now looked… like this.
Time was really unforgiving.
“Quite the collection here. Does Sukiko-san own all this?”
This “Arashiyama” private gallery had become an exhibit zone for antiques and art. Displays included antique pieces along with valuable paintings and calligraphy.
Landscape paintings from the Muromachi period, playful animal illustrations, Kano school screen paintings, and European oil canvases—all lined the gallery walls.
“Nishizuka, go explore with Sayaka. Need to catch up with old friends. Let’s meet back at seven. Exhibit ends then, Sukiko-san’s throwing a buffet…”
Hatatenka Gensai ran an antique shop. During exhibitions, he aimed to expand his clientele.
So he let his daughter and Fang Jing wander freely.
…
After parting ways with this Kyogado owner, Hatakena Sayaka grinned and pulled out a camera.
“Well, Nishizuka-kun, I gotta hunt for material now. You explore alone! Oh, and events like this aren’t just for grannies or uncles. Rumour is, young ladies from prominent families are attending too. So keep those eyes open, seize the chance! Don’t worry, you’ve got talent—I believe in you…”
“No clue what talent you’re seeing.”
“Chill! This big sis guarantees your looks alone will dazzle sheltered debutantes and thirsty rich ladies.”
“Am I escorting somewhere?”
Fang Jing sighed. “Not interested in either group.”
“No way! Seriously? Unless… your target’s nearly-middle-aged passion-starved uncles?”
Sayaka covered her mouth, feigning shock.
“My bad, never imagined that kind of preference.”
“That’s even crazier!”
Fang Jing exhaled weakly in response. He realized Sayaka thrived on pushback—this kind wore him out.
“Alright, see ya later!”
Done teasing him, Sayaka waved and breezed away.
Watching her leave, Fang Jing shook his head with a smile, beginning his solo gallery tour.
“Like Miss Sayaka said… Thought only antique collectors or hobbyists came to places like this. Didn’t expect younger people…”
True, younger visitors stood among the guests too. Most girls wore lovely evening gowns—bright as blossoming flowers.
Yet not a single “budding flower” could compare to that high-altitude blossom approaching gracefully.
Sakuya Sakuya.
He actually encountered this woman again.
Her pale red evening gown resembled an unfolding rose—vivid color, sleek design. Paired with wavy curls, she captivated every passerby.
Intentionally or not, she appeared here radiating solely confidence—declaring herself this garden’s most exquisite bloom.
Their gazes locked momentarily. Fang Jing noticed a faint smile grace her face.
He turned and walked away.
“What happened, Sakuya-sama?”
Maid Diana halted, watching her lady.
“So amusing… met an acquaintance.”
Sakuya squinted, observing the situation.
“I see!”
Probably a man!
Diana thought internally, leaning towards Sakuya’s ear.
“By the way, Sakuya-sama, Mr. Ariyama is here too. He’s been following us for days…”
“Ignore him.”
Sakuya responded coldly, her tone sharp with indifference.
“I understand.”
Maid Diana sighed softly.
(Guess she’s bored by him now. After all, that’s just how Sakuya-sama was.)
